1980 MG MGB
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Speakers were shot with the recent purchase of my "new" MGB. Did not want to do any real modifications to the car just yet. So I was stuck with a 4" hole to work with. Are they as loud as I would like...no. But, they have a very nice rich sound to the with a surprisingly decent range of treble of bass for a little guy. The sound they give me at this point is a huge improvement, but will most likely add something bigger in the near future.

Pros: Good sound for the price.

Cons: Well...it is after all, a 4" speaker.

small but good

1990 Volvo 240 Series
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The speakers sound really good. They worked well in the older Volvo once we got creative. I will say the base response is a bit weak but it's to be expected with the size of the speaker. I'm okay as I'm also installing a sub but you should know if you buy these.

It makes sound when I connect it to my stereo

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I needed inexpensive speakers with a better lower range performance than stock speakers my car shipped with. These did the job.

Pros: They fit in a shallow depth mounting space, the low price was pretty good.

Cons: The blue color of the cones and the funky covers could be a little weird for some customers - but I personally don't mind them.

4 inch full rang speakers

Pros: for 4 inch speakers they did better then i thought they would

Cons: none for the speakers . but the plates that were sent with them were little weak for my liking and did not fit space correctly

1997 Jeep Wrangler
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought these to replace the factory units in my 1997 Jeep Wrangler. These fit perfectly in the dash with the adapter plate that Crutchfield recommended. It was really a simple plug and play solution.

Pros: Good sound from such a small unit.

Cons:

Nice upgrade for MB Sprinter Van

2006 Dodge Sprinter
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used these to replace speakers in my 2006 Sprinter van. They are not "exact" replacements, but if you trim the mounting tabs they drop in. I held them down with some two-sided all-weather tape. They sound better than the originals, particularly the highs. Not much bottom end, but work well with a sub-woofer.

Pros: Reasonable price, almost drop-in ready. These appear to be well-made and quality you expect from Blaupunkt. Fast, free shipping.

Cons: None as far as four inch car speakers go.

Great Value and sound

2005 Dodge Sprinter
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I replaced my dash speakers in my sprinter van (2005) with these and new head unit. Head unit is 22w rms and these seemed to be only OK. Later in the week I added the DEI baffles with 600hz bass blockers and they came alive. It takes some modding to install in the Sprinter (removing the speaker housing tabs) and I actually put rubber weather stripping around the metal housing so the grill holds them in place once reinstalled by pressing down on the weather stripping (does not interfere with woofer). I am adding this because it pushed the experience from "meh" to "yeah" in the van. I added some Rockford tweeters and rear speakers and a sub the next week, and as part of a system I really appreciate the sound from these. I feel like they would be even better with a stand alone amp and 35w.

Pros: -Look fantastic -Large Magnet -great sound staging -excellent mids -work best with bass blockers -hard workers -baffles seemed to make these come alive in my dash.

Cons: -no bass response (600hz is a great cross over point) -tweeters are only OK -prob a bit under rated to get the best performance (meaning, you prob want more power to them)

That should work fine. Lower impedance means higher current. You don't want overcurrent for the receiver or the speaker, but 3 ohms instead of 4 should be fine. I have a pair connected to an Alpine receiver. [ Lloyd  May 15, 2015 ]
