Bluetooth® for hands-free calling and more

Blaupunkt's Toronto 410 BT sports a built-in Bluetooth module that supports hands-free calling with your compatible phone, plus the added feature of audio streaming that allows you to listen to music stored on your phone without the need for a cable. The Toronto's built-in microphone simplifies installation, and the receiver can store up to 1000 of your phonebook contacts, so dialing is quick and easy.

USB and SD card slots

You'll find both a USB port and an SD™ card slot for plugging in storage devices, and the USB input also serves as an input for your iPod® or iPhone® — just plug in and take control of your playlists from the receiver's controls. And if you've got other audio devices, like a satellite radio tuner, you can plug it into the front-panel auxiliary input.

Sound controls and system expansion

The Toronto's built-in amp delivers power far beyond that of a factory radio, while a 3-band parametric equalizer lets you select specific frequencies to boost or cut. The two pairs of preamp outputs come in handy when you're adding external amps.

Note: We made a special purchase on this Blaupunkt receiver, and it's a great deal. Keep in mind that you'll have to activate the AM tuner and reset the FM tuner for American stations — the process is explained in the manual. Also, this receiver does not come with a warranty, but it is covered by our 60-day satisfaction guarantee.

    Built-in Bluetooth

Bluetooth Technology: The Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT is equipped with built-in Bluetooth (ver. 2.0+EDR), allowing you to make and receive phone calls wirelessly through the receiver; as well as stream music wirelessly from your smartphone to the head unit.

Bluetooth Profiles: In order to use Bluetooth wireless technology, your phone must also be Bluetooth compatible and be able to interpret certain profiles. This unit is compatible with the following Bluetooth Profiles:

    • Hands-Free Communication: HFP (Hands Free Profile), PBAB (Phone Book Access Profile).
    • Audio Streaming: A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), AVRCP (Audio/Video Remote Control Profile).

Pairing: Before using your Bluetooth enabled device, it must be paired to the Toronto 410BT. You can register up to five Bluetooth enabled cell-phones with the Blaupunkt in-dash head unit (only one paired phone can be used at a time). The Toronto 410BT is compatible with most Bluetooth enabled mobile phones, including the Apple iPhone. Due to the differences in Bluetooth technology, some Bluetooth enabled devices may be incompatible, function improperly, or may not support all features when used with the Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT.

Hands-Free Communication w/ Integrated Microphone: The Toronto 410BT supports Bluetooth hands-free communication from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone. The Toronto 410BT can be set to automatically answer your incoming calls and mute any music audio to your vehicle's speakers so you can instantly carry on a phone conversation hands-free. An integrated front-panel microphone carries on your side of the conversation while your car's speakers are used to hear the other person. You can make a call by entering the phone number, selecting a contact from your Phonebook list, pressing a preset button, or via voice recognition.

    • Answering A Call: During an incoming call, the caller's phone number will be seen on the unit's LCD and a ring-tone will be heard through your car stereo speakers. You can then manually answer the incoming call from the head unit's front-panel controls.
    • Making A Call: You can make a call using the Blaupunkt in-dash head unit's front-panel controls.
      • Direct Dial: Outgoing calls can be made be entering telephone numbers (up to 20-digits) directly via the car stereo's front-panel controls.
      • Phonebook: You can search for contact names in your mobile phone's phonebook from the Toronto 410BT and then make your call. The head unit can store up to 1,000 contact numbers.
      • Presets: You can store up to 5 preset phone numbers for even quicker dialing from the head unit's front-panel preset buttons (1-5).
      • Redial: You can simply redial the last number dialed with a press of a single button on the in-dash head unit.
      • Voice Dial: You can make a call using the voice tags stored on your connected cellular phone (if applicable).
Note: There is an external mic minijack port (3.5mm) on back of the unit which allows you to add an external microphone for better performance in noisy environments.

Wireless Audio Streaming: The Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT also supports wireless audio playback (AD2P) and control (AVRCP) of a Bluetooth enabled audio player or smartphone. The Toronto 410BT will be able to control your stored music's basic playback functions; such as Play/Pause & Previous/Next Track (but there is no metadata display). The Toronto 410BT also supports audio streaming of music apps from your smartphone, but without control or metadata. You will continue to use your Bluetooth enabled smartphone to view & control streaming music apps. When an incoming call or outgoing call is in progress from your Bluetooth enabled mobile phone, audio streaming will be paused so you can take your call. Once the call is finished, your streaming music will resume.

    USB/AUX/iPod Connectivity

USB Port: The Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT features a front-panel USB (type-A) port that is hidden behind a flip-up cover. The USB port enables connection and control of a portable USB mass-storage class (MSC) device with MP3 (8-320 kbps) and WMA (32-192 kbps) music files. The USB port is compatible with USB mass storage class devices that support the FAT16 or FAT32 file system. The unit can recognize up to 20,000 MP3/WMA files stored on one USB MSC device. The Toronto 410BT offers the following playback operation of your USB Mass Storage device; Play/Pause, Skip Track (Previous/Next), Fast-Forward/Rewind, Scan Play, Repeat/Random, and Folder/Track selection. USB portable audio players that can be charged via USB will be charged when plugged into the CD receiver's USB port (max. 0.5A), and the vehicle's ignition switch is set to ACC or On.

Note: You cannot connect a USB device via a USB hub or Multi-Card Reader to this unit.

iPod/iPhone Compatible: The Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT's front-panel USB port can be used to connect your iPod/iPhone to the head unit, via the dock connector-to-USB cable which comes with your iPod/iPhone. The Toronto 410BT supports audio playback, music navigation, information display, and charging of your compatible iPod/iPhone. The USB connection allows your iPod/iPhone's stored music to be loaded instantly to the head unit and sound quality to be maximized through the head unit's 1-bit D/A converter. The Blaupunkt head unit supports audio playback of music stored on your iPod or iPhone. You can search your iPod/iPhone's stored music library by Artists, Album, or Genre (your iPod/iPhone's clickwheel or touchscreen controls will be locked during connection). The head unit will display your iPod/iPhone's stored music file information; including Track number, Folder number, Elapsed playing time, Song title, Artist name, and Album title. The head unit's USB connection provides 0.5A of current to power and charge your connected iPod/iPhone when your vehicle's ignition switch is set to the 'ACC' or 'On' position (if your iPod/iPhone has no initial battery charge, then the unit will not recognize it).  The Blaupunkt Toronto 410BT is "Made for iPod/iPhone" compatible and supports the following iPod/iPhone model features (as of 10/4/2012):
