If you want performance with distinctive flair, check out Power Acoustik's 2-channel TS1920-2 amplifier. Smack dab in the center of the amp is the Plasma Sphere — a disc that flashes blue pulses of lightning in time with your music. But this amp isn't just for show, it's all go, boasting bone-crushing power — up to 800 watts in bridged mode.

You get precise sonic control to go with all that power. Variable high- and low-pass filters trim unwanted frequencies to adapt the amp for a variety of applications. You can augment the low-end output with the handy dash-mountable remote bass boost.

Product Highlights:

  • 370 watts RMS x 2 at 4 ohms (440 watts RMS x 2 at 2 ohms)
  • 800 watts RMS x 1 in bridged mode (4-ohm stable in bridged mode)
  • variable high-pass/low-pass crossover (40-250 Hz, 18 dB/octave)
  • variable bass boost (0-18 dB at 40 Hz) with wired remote level control

  • 4-gauge power and ground leads with 150A ANL wafer fuse and holder recommended — wiring and hardware not included with amplifier
  • 22-11/16"W x 2-13/16"H x 11"D

  • Our 60-day money-back guarantee

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Power Acoustik TS1920-2

Written By Jorge, Miami, FL on Tuesday, December 06, 2005

thought i might let people know out there that this amp is the best that you can get for the money, and dont let the brand fool you, it is amazing. i am pushing 3 12" bumpers which are a local made sub, and they are in a Jeep Grand Cherokee with a stock headunit and it sets off alarms 75 feet away, definately a great amp, runs a little hot at full power, but perfect at 1/2 or 3/4. ooh, and get something to protect your review mirrors, mine has come loose 5 times in the past 2 months. the remote is also really good, and the plasma sphere makes u think u have cops behind you, have fun when you get this.

I have this hooked up to 2 10" Rockford Frosgate T1's and it is sweet. I was thinking about adding one more sub but i am not sure if this will take 3 subs. the plasma sphere is sweet and i found some neon blue sub rings that beat to the music as this does, it is a sweet combo. i have my subs in a sealed bandbass box and even though the box is made for three subs the amount of power that it gives them is sweet and i am sure that it will be even better with that extra 10" hole is filled in my box. the control is really nice and it is small so you can put it anywhere. and if you are good at wiring, you can change the wire so that you can adjust it in your car. definetly buy this amp! IT RULES!!!

Very Nice.

I have this amp running to 2 Kicker CVR12s in a sealed box. It not only has the power to knock off anything lose in your car, but it has a nice clean sound too. The plasma sphere is sweet. I keep my seats down all the time *especially at night.* It hits with the music and is a 1000% better than the old plain neons!!! It will not dissapoint!

This amp is worth every penny. They power my 2 Audiobahn Natural Sound subs with no problems!! when i sit in my car i get an instant massage. It makes my Audiobahns pound so hard it shook my rearview mirror off. I glued it on 2 times. So as long as I have this amp i'm laevin my mirror off.

Nice Amp

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I co-own Enfil Productions and I am developing a "Show Truck". I needed an Amp for each two of the subs I have. I have six total, so I got three of these amps and all I can say is ....They hit hard and the pulsating sphere is awesome...btw, I have these three amps mounted in the truck cab (2003 GMC Sonoma) and the subs in the bed, and it still shakes the daylights out of me.

This amp rocks!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I upgraded from a Fosgate Punch 160a and I am thrilled. I was running 2-12" subs and the 160 didn't have what it took. When I pop the truck the light show on the plasma sphere is mesmerizing and the beat is low and hard. It's more than enough to run 2 12's by itself. The only drawback to it is that it may run a little hot in bridged mode, but the overheat protection circuit keeps it from damage. (The overheating is why I only gave it a 4 * rating) I only wish I had a hatchback to show off the plasma sphere. Overall this amp ROCKS!! Next on my shopping list is the 4 channel version.

Inputs and Outputs Notes
Wiring Recommendations

Warranty Note

Lightning Pulse: The Power Acoustik Plasma Sphere TS1920-2 amplifier features a synchronized lightning pulse display on the top center of the unit. The lightning display pulses with the beat of the music.

Power LED: The LED on the input side of the amplifier glows green when the amp is on and red when one of the protection circuits turns the amp off.

MOSFET Power Supply: The amplifier features a MOSFET (Metal Oxide Semiconductor Field Effect Transistors) power supply, which has a higher switching speed than a bipolar transistor and generates very little heat. MOSFETs offer fast response and high efficiency.

Bass Level Remote Control: This amp is equipped with a wired remote control which allows you to adjust the level of the amplifier. The remote is designed to be mounted under the dash to allow control from the driver's seat. The cable length is 19.5' and plugs into the amp with its 3.5mm mini-plug. The remote has these dimensions: Width=2.248", Height=1.005", Depth=2.558" (including knob).

Line Outputs: The TS1920-2 includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal.

Protection Circuits: This amp has three types of protection circuits: Overload, short circuit and thermal protection. The LED on the left side of the amplifier will glow red to indicate that the amplifier is in the protect mode.

Built-In Crossover: This amplifier includes a built-in variable crossover, high pass or low pass, with a slope of 18dB/octave. The crossover is continuously variable from 40-250Hz. There is a switch which lets you choose between high pass, low pass, or full range operation.

Inputs and Outputs Notes

Terminal Strip: The power and ground connections are on a terminal strip, each 0.53" wide. A minimum of 4 gauge power and ground wire is recommended. The remote turn-on and speaker connections are also a terminal strip, each 0.36" wide.

Wiring Recommendations

Wiring Recommendations: The TS1920-2 is equipped with three 35-amp fuses, so its fuse rating (105-amps total) exceeds that of typical 4 gauge wiring kits, which usually include a 60 or 80-amp fuse. For 105-amp fuse protection, an ANL wafer style fuse is required, but none of the 4-gauge wiring kits include a ANL-style fuse holder. Since pre-packaged 4 gauge amplifier wiring kits cannot be used alone, you may purchase the necessary items separately, or you may use a pre-packaged 4 gauge wiring kit along with a ANL-style fuse holder and a 150-amp ANL wafer fuse. If you do not use a wiring kit with the necessary additional items, the separate parts and wiring needed to install this amplifier are as follows:

  • 1 ANL wafer-style fuse holder capable of accepting 4 gauge wire
  • One 150-amp ANL wafer fuse
  • 2 power rings for 4 gauge cable
  • 4 gauge power cable (to connect the battery to a fuse holder and the fuse holder to the amplifier)
  • 4 gauge ground cable
  • Remote turn-on cable (speaker wire can be used as remote turn-on cable)
  • 1 pair stereo RCA patch cables (if you're not using the speaker level input)
  • Speaker wire

Warranty Note

Warranty: The manual indicates a 1 year parts and labor warranty if professionally installed by an authorized dealer and 90 days if installed by the consumer, however Power Acoustik has extended the 1 year warranty to all Crutchfield customers.
