When you have a powerful, precise home theater receiver like the Denon AVR-2313CI, there is magic in the air. Turn down the lights, butter the popcorn and prepare for surround sound that turns your favorite movies into living, breathing adventures. Cutting-edge processing lets you experience the best sound your favorite Blu-ray movies have to offer, and dual subwoofer outputs let you add a second sub for bass that's well-balanced throughout your home theater. Your living room becomes a canvas of imagination.
With over a century in the audio business, the Denon name has come to mean something special. The '2313CI has seven discrete channels of clean amplification. Through careful design, Denon's engineers shoot for minimal signal path circuitry to keep the music clear and noise literally out of the picture. And with free, easy-to-use control apps, you won't believe how much power you have at your fingertips.
AirPlay lets you stream music from your iTunes® library directly to the receiver, either from a networked computer or right from your iPhone®, iPad®, or iPod touch®. Not only do you get a fast and convenient way to listen to your favorites, but anyone in your home can stream from their player to share their latest find. Or if you prefer, simply plug in your favorite Apple handheld device through the front-panel USB port for a direct digital connection.
And thanks to a free Denon control app, your Apple® or Android™ device can double as a Wi-Fi® system remote. The app is intuitive and easy to read, and it offers control of your system from any spot in or around the house where you can access your wireless network. AirPlay requires a wireless home network and a wired connection between the receiver and network.
Connect the AVR-2313CI to your broadband home network and you open the door to a world of entertainment selections. Begin with thousands of Internet radio stations and you'll find favorites, old and new. The AVR-2313CI comes equipped for you to explore Pandora® Internet radio or SiriusXM Internet radio where millions of songs and tons of entertainment selections are at your command (registration or subscription may be required). You can even access photos stored on your networked PC through the '2313CI, or view picture albums on Flickr using your HDTV.
For the most accurate home theater sound possible in your room, Denon equipped this receiver with Audyssey MultEQ® XT, a sophisticated automatic speaker calibration system. The '2313 uses the included microphone to analyze sound then automatically adjusts individual level, equalization, and delay settings for each of your speakers.
Your receiver powers your speakers and lets you connect and select your entertainment sources. But a great receiver does a lot more it ignites your emotions. From the passion of a favorite musical artist, to the crossfire of a super-charged movie soundtrack, to the intensity and immersion of a fast-paced video game, your receiver is the key to experiencing and enjoying it in full.
Got the last one with a great deal right in time for a party I was throwing. Where was the world before music streaming? This is an amazing receiver - I've use Onkyo's all my adult life and this was my first Denon. Very simple setup, I even setup the second zone to play in the backyard for a BBQ I was throwing - easy as pie. The one thing you will have to get around is the fact that the receiver does not have built in wi-fi. and for someone like me where my wifi router is too far away to connect an Ethernet cable to, there's a solution for that, and no, it's not an extra long cord. Get your self a NETGEAR - Powerline AV 200 Nano Adapter Kit and you'll be set!
Pros: The receiver is great - good power, nice connectivity to the internet, set up was almost too easy.
Cons: There are some features that are not available to you when you are using the 2nd zone. But there are ways around that, and Crutchfield customer service is simply awesome.
This receiver replaced a Pioneer Elite with a bad Remote Array. It was very easy to hook up, sounds great, and most importantly worked well with the Logitech Remote. I would highly recommend it. Tis is my 5th Denon Receiver and I would not go anyplace else for value for money
Excellent product. Wanted to get into the next level of sound in the house and because CD stores don't exist I wanted to be able to stream audio from the Internet . This gives me all of that at a great price. Sound in four rooms and able to get surround sound for movie night. The Crutchfield support is the source of information that can't be matched at the retailers.
Pros: Excellent support and ease of setup. Package came overnight with no hassle ordering
Great receiver! This is a great receiver with lots of options especially for the price. Devon makes a great product.
Pros: Great sound. Pretty easy to set up and use.
It was easy to set up and sounds great.
Outstanding product at an even better price - thanks!!
Pros: Features to include AirPlay
I'm going up from a Denon 1712 to the 2313-CI. The network capabilities are impresive. Very easy to hooked up and set up.
Pros: Networking, integrated Pandora, very easy setup procedure.
Cons: A little bigger frame than some of his "brothers".
I have spent a lot of time looking for a 7.2 Receiver with a good price offer. I rated this unit 5 star because it meets all of my requirerments and more then anything was the price.
Cons: The only thing that bothers me is you have to turn the volume up 50% be for you start to hear some sound and I prefer about 62.5 % of sound.
Sounds great. Easy to set up and use Audyssey.
Can't get Airplay or iPhone remote app to work. Seems that my home network is not recognizing receiver. Will have to work on that.
Pros: Sound, Ease of Setup
Cons: Problems integrating to home network
Excellent. Easy to set up. Sound is great. Replacing onkyo system which is year old and has failed. Warranty for onkyo will repair but since I live in area without service center, I have to pay shipping, insurance and packing. Good bye onkyo.
Upgraded from a 6 year old denon cause I needed more hdmi inputs and 3D pass-through.Works as well as the older one, denon very reliable product.I can't seem to use the ARC function, but I don't know if that is receiver,tv,or me.
Great product. Cruchfield great company.
Had some early issues because I had Bose speakers there were concerns with 4 ohm to 8 ohm thankfully everything worked out so far ever thing is working great the tech line was great even on a holiday week end thanks Crutchfield
Great receiver and love the fact it calibrated the speakers with the microphone! Love the iPod hook up and multiple zones. Only issue is that then had to purchase another bridge for internet hook up to receive online radio. Please be advised, unless you can hook directly into your internet modem, then purchase a bridge/modem.
Pros: Love the features and 2 zones!
Cons: Not wireless and should be!
Easy to set up, great sound, tons of options and good looking to boot. Strong amp makes music clean and movies loud. Super accurate as well. Very simple interface makes daily use easy. I cannot actually figure out how to use all of the HDMI inputs, nor the remaining component inputs. I have not set up the Airplay yet but the iPhone input up front makes it very easy to play my music.
Pros: Easy to use. Easy to setup. Great sound. Tons of flexibility.
Cons: Might be to subtle for some
The unit is an excellent av receiver .
Pros: I have really enjoy the dynamic sound control and central control of all unit through the receiver.
Love Simple to set up Run my home Theater through it. Love the ability to use the microphone that comes with it to test each speaker from various sitting areas in the room
Paired with Polk Blackstone TL350 / Pro DSW 660 / Sonos Connect Very easy to set-up: within 20mn all system set-up Very easy to use: remote very intuitive Great to use: deep & powerful sound for both music, movie. Watched Django as 1st movie with the new set-up....unbelievable sound experience.
Pros: Easy set-up with step-by-step on-screen assistant Versatile: plenty of connections.... Quality built: heavy and strong connections Nice design
Cons: None so far
7 hdmi inputs, 2 hdmi outputs! Easy to set up, and pure joy to use. The only " problem" that I have is that the sound is so real that I get a bit scared with horror themes. Need to stick to comedy.
Great receiver for the money and the crutchfield people were very helpful!!
Pros: Price, Brand and a lot of features
This is an unbelievably great AV receiver. And at this price, it cannot be beat. If you want a great receiver at a great price, then get this receiver
Pros: 7.2 surround sound. AirPlay. Audio Return Channel (ARC).
Cons: At this price, none.
Good Sound, setup was a little confusing. Took a little time to figure it out, but now it works great.
This is the third Denon receiver I have owned and by far the most intuitive and on the lower end of the price range in comparison to the competition. This receiver power 2 Polk RTI12's floor standing speakers, and the matching center and FXI rears. The sound is crystal clear from all channels at all volumes with very little harmonic distortion during quiet parts of music or movies even when it's cranked. The menu is simple and easy to use and the adjustments they have made to the Audessey setup from my last receiver 2309ci are awesome. They now give you the ability to use the Audessey settings but adjust the dialogue level and center channel independently which is great, set up was a breeze and I can now hear subtle sounds I was never able to hear before. The Denon app for network control is great as is HDMI switching and Control. Apple airplay works great and thus far I really am enjoying this receiver. I will say that when driving this receiver hard it will overheat and shut down even in an open cabinet. That's the only reason I didn't give it 5 stars
Pros: Crystal Clear Sound, Easy Setup, Network control, internet radio, 2 zone, hdmi switching, usb port, front hdmi, 2 sub preout's
Cons: Overheats quickly at high volumes, no wifi built in or ability to add wifi must either hardwire or buy a wireless access point and then hardwire. Remote is very basic with minimal control availability.
I am very pleased with this receiver. It performed perfectly right out of the box and was very easy to set up. The sound quality is excellent and the remote is a much better design than those of other receiver brands I have used. There are 2 hdmi outputs and 2 subwoofer outputs which is not that common on audio/video receivers.
Pros: Performs as advertised with easy setup and excellent sound quality.
Cons: The buttons on the remote do not light up, something that is needed in a darkened room.
It had been many years since I bought any kind of receiver so I needed to do a little research before buying. Crutchfield's website had a lot of valuable information that helped me select the features most important to me. I would always get to a certain point in the decision making process but never pull the trigger to purchase. Then when DENON went on sale at Crutchfield I knew it was time. I am very happy with my Denon AVR-2313CI and Crutchfield's information and performance.
Pros: Large number of great features and setup was easy. I would advise reading the manual (at least glance over it) before connecting/setting up. I like the remote - labeled nice. I'm not an audiophile but the sound is great.
Cons: Speaker wires were a little difficult to connect...... until I read how to correctly do it in the manual.
I've only had this receiver for a short time, but so far I like all that it has to offer: internet radio, Spotify, independent zone 2 sources, many ways to tweak your audio. Sound is good, although I think it is a small step down from my previous receiver (Marants SR7000). In fairness though, I should state that I have not yet used the Audessey speaker calibration, as it requires an HDMI hookup which I do not have yet. As usual, Crutchfield is an outstanding organization to do business with.
I only have two three-way fifteen inch home tower speakers. With this receiver and the way it's set up, you would think I had about seven small speakers and one huge subwoofer. The sound quality is amazing and powerful. The DENON is only turned up one notch and it is loud enough for me to hear every word and action on TV very clearly.
With past receivers I could never get the small, local FM stations. Well, with this receiver, I can listen to some of my favorite local stations as well, as the more commercial radio stations. When you're listening to the radio, the information is on the screen I also like the way you can set up the AVR on your TV screen and follow its instructions.
All in all, I'd say this is a good deal for the price. If I'm happy with what this receiver does with just two speakers, then I can most assure that you'll be happy using many more. The employees here at this site are very skilled in providing you with any information you may need. This unit was recommended to me by an employee here and I'm glad I decided to purchase this unit.
Pros: Sound quality, power, can listen to the small local FM stations, being able to look on TV and see what station you're listening to.
Cons: With the AVR's that are out today, especially with this particular AVR, you'd practically have to take a class to understand electronics, when you see things like Hz, LPF of LFE, is 80Hz better than 120Hz.? Not to mention crossovers, dynamic volume and its settings. The days of purchasing a receiver, plugging it in the wall and only adjusting the bass/treble are long gone. I don't like to feel as if I need to take a class in electronics to purchase an item in electronics.
I wanted a quality av receiver to run my entertainment system. Over the years I have owned 1980's 2channel Onkyo , 1990's 5.1 Sony, 2000's 7.1 Sony. After the last sony purchase I experienced a reduced quality in the Sony brand of the av receiver. Upon searching products on line I have settled on the Denon Avr-2313ci purchase. The reasons being: brand history and lab test performed by HT labs. D& M Holding company owns both Denon and Marantz indicating a continued persistence to achieving quality in their products. The 2313ci tested out at over 125 watt per channel with .1% distortion with two channels driven and the 2313 is only rated at 100 watts per channel. In other words, the way it should be. Video quality on HDMI out running into a Samsung Plazma tv at 1080P works without a glitch. First rate receiver all the way.
Pros: To many to list
Cons: Remote volumn control uneven for the time you hold the button down. Should be an adjustment to have it even.
I just love my new Denon AVR 2313CI. It is easy to setup and easy to use especially after reading the manual. It has the features I need ie: adjustable subwoofer level from the setup menu which is handy if you like a little more bass in the subwoofer than the audyssee sets the system at. Also, needed to reduce subwoofer level when DTS Music DVD'S are played like when "Hell Freezes Over - Eagles".
Pros: Easy to set up and use. Great sound
Cons: Having trouble connecting it to the internet.

High-Quality Construction: The Denon AVR-2313CI offers a minimum signal path design and direct mechanical ground construction, with independent power supplies for high-quality, audiophile-type sound; all in a vibration resistant chassis.
Equal Power Amp Design w Discrete Circuitry: The Denon AVR-2313CI is equipped with a 7 channel power amplifier rated at 105-watts (into 8-ohms, at 20-20kHz, with 0.08% THD, driving 2 channels) that reproduces high-fidelity sound in surround mode with equal quality and power for all channels, true to the original sound. The power amplifier circuit adopts a discrete-circuit configuration that achieves high-quality surround sound reproduction. To faithfully reproduce the original surround sound, each of the Denon AVR-2313CI's five channels are equipped with its own high-current power amp of equal power. Since these power amps also use discrete circuits configured with parts strictly selected for their contribution to high sound quality, rather than with low-cost integrated circuits (ICs), the surround sound playback is of impeccably high quality.
Amplifier Assignment: The AVR-2313CI supports up to 7.1 channels (Front L/R, Center, Surround L/R, Surround Back L/R, and SW) for surround playback defined by the Blu-ray disc format. The seven amplifier channels built into the receiver are typically used for 7.1 channel surround in the main room, but there are various amplifier configurations to accommodate your home theater setup:
Dual 24-bit/192-kHz DACs: This receiver is equipped with dual AKM Semiconductor 24-bit/192-kHz (AK4358VQ) DACs on all channels to decode and playback high-resolution recordings with less jitter and clearer sound.
32-Bit Processing DSP: The Denon AVR2313CI is equipped with a Floating Point 32-bit DSP (ADSP21487) for powerful and highly accurate surround sound reproduction.
Multi-Channel Decoding Formats: The Denon AVR-2113CI AV receiver supports the following multi-channel (Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic) decoding formats.
Note: Dolby Digital and DTS listening modes can only be selected if your audio source is connected to the AV receiver via a digital audio connection (HDMI, optical, or coaxial). To enjoy true 7.1ch Dolby Digital TrueHD and DTS-HD surround sound, the receiver must be connected to your Blu-ray player via HDMI.
Denon Original Listening Modes: Denon's Original Listening Modes, combined with Dolby Digital/DTS/Dolby Pro Logic processing, produce more realistic, powerful sound effects for your movie and music sound tracks based on the type of content and your home theater setup. You can choose from the following:
Surround Parameters: You can adjust the following surround mode parameters:
Direct Listening Modes: The Denon AVR-2313CI offers two Direct Listening Modes which bypass the receiver's tone & DSP processing for higher sound quality performance. Direct Mode provides playback of 2ch or Multichannel audio in its original form, without any surround or tone processing. Pure Direct Mode goes a step further by turning off the receiver's display and analog video circuitry to minimize the possibility of any noised being added to the audio signal.
Audyssey Technology: The AVR-2313CI features a full package of Audyssey audio technologies for optimal sound quality. Audyssey Dynamic Volume offers real-time volume adjustment, while Audyssey DynamicEQ improves your system's surround effects during low volume levels. Audyssey MultEQ XT automatically sets speakers to suit your room's listening environment and the speakers' characteristics.
CINEMA EQ (Cinema Equalizer): The Cinema EQ function gently decreases the level of the extreme high frequencies, compensating for overly-bright sounding motion picture soundtracks. Select this function if the sound from the front speakers is too bright. This function only works in the Dolby Digital, DTS, Dolby Pro Logic (including PL II, PL IIx, PL IIz), and DTS Neo:6 modes.
Restorer: Compressed audio formats such as MP3, WMA (Windows Media Audio), and MPEG-4 AAC reduce the amount of data by eliminating signal components that are hard for the human ear to hear. The Restorer function generates the signals eliminated upon compression, restoring the sound to conditions near those of the original sound before compression. It also corrects the sense of volume of the bass to obtain richer sound with compressed audio signals. You can choose from 4 settings:
Dynamic Range Compression (DRC): Motion picture soundtracks have tremendous dynamic range (the contrast between very soft and very loud sounds). For listening late at night, or whenever the maximum sound level is lower than usual, Compressing the dynamic range allows you to hear all of the sounds in the soundtrack with reduced dynamic range. DRC works when playing program sources recorded in Dolby Digital or DTS.
Night Mode: The Night Mode optimizes sound for late night listening. This function can be set to Low, Mid, High, or Off.
Tone Settings: You can independently adjust the system's overall Bass and Treble settings from -6 to +6 dB. You can also fade the sound from front to rear, or vice-versa.
Volume Settings: The AVR-2313CI offers the following volume settings.
Level Adjustments: The AVR-2313CI provides the following level adjustments.
Audio Inputs/Outputs: The Denon AV receiver offers a variety of analog and digital audio inputs/outputs
HDMI (v1.4): With six HDMI v1.4 inputs (5 rear/1 front), the AVR-2313CI allows you to route multiple high-definition devices, like game consoles and Blu-ray players, to your TV. It also allows you to connect all of your devices to your TV with a single HDMI cable (via its HDMI monitor output x 2), reducing cable clutter. The two HDMI outputs are parallel so the same video signal is output through both and can be used simultaneously. The HDMI inputs are assignable to different input sources. They support HDCP copyright protection and are compatible with 3D signals, Deep Color, xvYCC technology, LipSync, ARC, and HDMI control.
Analog Video Inputs: The receiver features four composite video inputs (3 rear/1 front) and one composite video monitor output. There is also two component video inputs and one component video output (60MHz).
Analog-to-HDMI Conversion w/ Video Scaling (4K): The AVR-2313CI is equipped with a flexible video switching system that converts incoming analog video signals to HDMI and scales them to a higher resolution, so only one video connection is required from the receiver to the TV. HDMI input video signals can also be scaled to a higher resolution. The scaled output resolution is set in the receiver's menu.
NSV (Noise Shaped Video): The NSV precision video feature works in the digital domain to reduce noise in the video signal frequency band in order to enhance video signal linearity, provide the most accurate signal representation, and enhance the picture quality. Noise shaping techniques can be combined with dynamic element matching techniques in order to reduce the matching requirements of DAC elements by converting the analog mismatch into out of band noise. This approach of dynamic element matching and noise shaping has been shown to allow the use of sigma delta modulation at video data rates. NSV is the only product on the market that can achieve ultimate precision with 12-bit fidelity in both digital-to-analog and analog-to-digital domains.
3D Pass-Through: With the advent of 3D media, it is important to own a receiver that recognizes 3D video signals. The AVR-2313CI is able to pass through 3D signals from your Blu-ray player, ensuring that the 3D effect doesn't get lost in translation. It also recognizes signals from 3D television broadcasts. By connecting a 3D-compliant Blu-ray disc player and 3D-compliant TV to the AVR-2313CI, you will have a 3D home theater where you can enjoy high-definition sound and video on a level you've never experienced before.
HDMI Standby Pass-Through: When enabling the HDMI Standby Pass-Through function, regardless of whether the AV receiver is "On" or in "Standby" both audio/video streams from an HDMI input will be output to your television, via the receiver's HDMI monitor output. You can select between three HDMI through function modes.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): This feature allows audio to be sent from your compatible HDTV to your receiver through the same HDMI cable already being used to send audio and video to your HDTV. This eliminates the need for extra cables connected to your television.
Deep Color & x.v.Color Support: The AVR-2313CI also supports Deep Color and x.v.Color content, which can display a larger color range than standard-definition schemes. The result is a more lifelike, vibrant picture
Lipsync: If needed, the audio signal can be manually delayed to match the video signal; adjust from 0-200ms.
Picture Adjust: You can adjust the picture quality for each video source; Contrast (+/-6), Brightness (0-12), Chroma Level (+/-6), and Hue (+/-6).
Video Select Function: You can switch the video input source on the receiver while listening to a different audio signal.
Network Connection: The Denon AVR-2313CI is equipped with an Ethernet (RJ-45) port that lets you connect the receiver to your home network (LAN) and your broadband internet provider. When connected to your home network, the AVR-2313CI lets you listen to Internet radio and a host of other online music sources from your broadband internet provider, as well as play audio files & display still images from your computer via its network connection (DLNA 1.5 certified). The AVR-2313CI also supports AirPlay that lets you stream your music library from an iPhone, iPad, iPod touch, or iTunes.
Note: This unit's RJ-45 Ethernet port supports 10BASE-T/100BASE-TX and requires an Ethernet (LAN) category 5 or higher cable, Router, Modem, and Internet connection.
DLNA 1.5 Certified: The AVR-2313CI is DLNA (Digital Living Network Alliance) 1.5 and Windows 7 compliant for audio and photo networking. This means it's easier for you to access and enjoy digital music and still-images (JPEG) stored on your Windows PC. You can use your PC to play high-bit rate music content through the A/V receiver and view still-images on your connected TV, or use the AVR-2313CI's remote control to browse music & photo files on your hard drive. The receiver also supports ID3-Tag (ver.2) and META tag information; so song title, artist name, and album name can be displayed the unit's front-panel display or on-screen menu. In addition the unit will display Album Art on a connected television. The Denon AVR-2313CI supports the following audio formats, sampling frequencies, and bit rates via its wired network connection.
