Earpiece control wheel

Go wireless or wired

Nothing beats Bluetooth connectivity for ease of use when you're on the go. Wirelessly stream music and take calls from your compatible device with the AH-NCW500's intuitive built-in controls on the earpieces. A rotary control on the right earcup controls volume, while center buttons on each earpiece control music playback and call functions. Tiny dual microphones located on the right earpiece work together to ensure that your speech is always clear and easy to hear in any environment.

What about when you're on the plane and the flight attendant tells you to turn off your wireless device? Denon has you covered: once you're airborne, go wired by connecting the optional cord to the right earcup and your mobile device, or use the included airplane adapter to access the airline's audio offerings. The cord can also be used when the internal battery is drained, allowing for passive listening minus the Bluetooth and noise-canceling features.

What about comfort and sound quality?

Despite the AH-NCW500's many features, you won't have to sacrifice sound quality or comfort. Denon's pentagon-shaped memory foam earpads and double-axis earcups are designed to provide long-lasting comfort, perfect for long flights. The AH-NCW500's 40mm dynamic drivers are powered by a built-in amplifier for bringing out the details in your music and giving them punch. You can even fine tune these headphones to your own taste with the free Denon Travel app for iPhone®/iPod® and Android™. The app includes a customizable graphic equalizer as well as easy integration with your music library. It even provides instant access to your favorite travel sites like TripAdvisor®, Kayak and FlightView® to keep you apprised of flight delays or help you find a last-minute hotel room.

Product Research

Features

Overview: The Denon AH-NCW500 Globe Cruiser Bluetooth headphones are on-ear, noise-canceling headphones for use with a smartphone. The active noise canceling eliminates external noise so you can hear your conversation or music clearly. The AH-NCW500s come with a USB charging cable, a detachable audio cable, and airline adapter. It folds flat and stores in the supplied simulated leather carrying case.

Bluetooth: The AH-NCW500 Bluetooth Headphones feature Bluetooth 3.0 wireless connectivity so you can carry on your conversations without worrying about getting tangled up in a dangling cable. If you are unable to use the wireless connection or the rechargeable battery is exhausted, the supplied audio cable lets you continue to listen to your music. The headphones feature dual integrated microphones located in each earcup for clear phone conversations. The headphones also include aptX and AAC decoding for CD quality audio over the Bluetooth wireless connection.

Active Noise Canceling: The AH-NCW500's Noise Canceling circuitry subtly eliminates annoying sounds, such as the constant drone of a plane engine or the noise of the train on the tracks. You will still be able to hear emergency announcements or converse with other passengers. The Active Noise Canceling can be turned on or off by a toggle switch on the bottom of the left earcup.

Controls: The AH-NCW500s are equipped with Denon's patent-pending Control Wheel for controlling your phone calls and wireless music playback. The Control Wheel, located on the right earcup, mimics the operation of a conventional rotary control. To control the volume, the Control Wheel is rotated to the left or right. Music playback is controlled by pressing the center of the Control Wheel a specific number of times for each function. The controls are compatible with Apple iPhone and iPad, and other Bluetooth devices.

Note: The Control Wheel operates only for Bluetooth operation. The Bluetooth function turns off when you connect a device using the supplied audio cable.

Comfort: The AH-NCW500 headphones feature Denon's patent-pending Pentagonally-shaped memory foam ear pads for maximum comfort. The dual-axis earcups and adjustable padded headband provide for a perfect fit.

Rechargeable Battery: The headphones are powered by a 3.7-volt Lithium-Polymer rechargeable battery. The battery charges in approximately 2 hours via USB with the included USB charging cable. A fully charged battery provides the following continuous usage:

  • Bluetooth and Noise Canceling: 10 hours
  • Bluetooth only: 15 hours
  • Noise Canceling only: 25 hours
  • Standby: 300 hours

Denon Travel App: You can further enhance your listening experience by downloading the Denon Travel App, available for the Apple iPod touch, iPhone, and iPad, as well as many Android devices. You can use the app to play your stored music, launch travel apps, create and store custom EQ curves, and listen to TuneIn Internet radio.

Q
how do I know when fully charged and if I don't charge battery for long time can it go bad and leak?

A
the battery light will be green, It lasts for at least 1 hour on fully charged battery. Make sure you turn off the batter, by holding down the power up button until the red light flashes.

While charging two small red lights flash slowly on each side. They will e stop flashing when fully charged.Owner's manual is HERE - http://www.crutchfield.com/p_033NCW500B/Denon-AH-NCW500-Globe-Cruiser-153-Black.html?tp=60828&turntoqid=TkIAa0kW&turntosuid=SEUBY08f&sourceId=1&iqrlId=7724668&turntosku=033NCW500B&turntoflow=answer#turntodone I did not seem to get a copy of manua in box . Quoting it - "Charge the headphone battery when first using it after purchase or when the battery level is low by connecting the headphones to a computer using the included USB cable. The LED indicator will flash when the battery is being charged. 0% to 49% charged : Slowly flashes red 50% to 99% charged : Flashes red every 2 seconds 100% charged : LED indicator turns off" Page 7 gives the table in color for all patterns from LEDs. Can battery leak? Yes. I would not store these in a hot place like a car or garage. Is it likely to leak? No. I have never had a lithium battery built into gear leak. They are not like alkaline batteries, which too frequently after a few years leak,
