The pros at Escort designed the RedLine radar detector to do one thing — give you the best information as early as possible. This advanced travel companion features dual antennas for high sensitivity and superior long-range detection capability. You can drive with confidence with the RedLine in your vehicle, while TotalShield™ protection avoids detection by current radar detector detection technologies.
The RedLine's twin antennas — tuned specifically for the X, K, Ka, and POP radar bands — give you the earliest possible warnings for bands across the board. It features multiple laser sensors, including a dedicated rear laser port to detect laser signals from behind your vehicle. It'll even detect SWS and other emergency channels, so you'll be up to date on road hazards. Patented digital signal processing analyzes incoming transmissions and filters out the noise, minimizing annoying false alerts.
Easy to use
The user-friendly RedLine makes it easy to take advantage of its awesome technology. A high-definition alphanumeric display provides you with instant readouts on signal type and strength, and you can switch to advanced modes for additional information. Three different sensitivity modes let you adjust the RedLine for city and highway driving.
You'll hear clear digital voice alerts, and you can utilize mute settings to adjust the volume level or turn them off completely. A built-in alert lamp provides additional visual warning for extra protection. You can adjust the overall brightness of the RedLine's visual features, or go to full dark mode for total stealth.
SmartCord and travel case
Escort includes a coiled SmartCord 12-volt adapter with a mute button, alert light, and power-on indicator, as well as a handy travel case to keep your investment safe.
Add Escort Live!™ for extra protection
The RedLine is compatible with the Escort Live! service, which allows you to track real-time radar threats in your vicinity using your Bluetooth® enabled smartphone and the free Escort Live! app. Your phone's GPS information provides access to reported radar data from other Escort Live! users in your vicinity, and you can report radar hotspots so others driving in your wake will know about potential encounters. You'll need to purchase an Escort Live! cord for your iPhone® or Android™ phone, and a subscription fee is also required to use the Escort Live! service.

Pros: Easy to set up. Outstanding performance.
The Redline is everything it is advertised to be. Simple design and ready out of the box. Windshield mount works very well and is easy to install and remove for storing out of sight. Mute button on 12V plugin is a plus. Out of the box volume settings are spot on for alerting and then quieting down after initial alert.
Pros: Mute button on 12v plug in. Standard settings are exactly what most users look for in volume control and radar band setup. 3 simple operating modes for highway, auto, and Auto no X.
Cons: Power cord could be longer, but does function well for storing in travel case.
Redline works great on the open road. Very sensitive and picks up plenty of signals. One would want to customize the bands to block out unwanted signals. However, for the highway it is a great investment.
Pros: compact sensitive mounts easily customizable
Cons: price, but you get what you pay for.
I was driving down a mountain road, the highway patrol said I was doing 70 which was impossible! I invested in the best radar detector I could find, and no more tickets for me in the future! This one gives me a warning about one miles away before they can detect me. I live with it now and feel safe from some one trying to make a quota of tickets!
Pros: Worked as described!
Cons: There are no cons here! Should have bought it before the ticket!
I use this detector only in my sportscar and after I set up the band segmentation it smokes the v1. I've had a v1 but the range of the redline in my area is unbelievable. Off axis detection over hills and around curves make this thing lethal and is undectable by the man. Like said in previous reviews you get what you pay for. I bought this detector before the band seg. was developed and sent it in for a free firmware update so your getting good customer support. If you pair it with live it can't get any better than this. It has payed for itself a long time ago and has not let me down yet. I have never seen range like this on any comparable detector. There basically is no comparison it just flat performs. Just make sure you don't turn off the wrong Ka bands and your good. I would buy it again if I had my choice of any detector. I've had very good results with the cops with the quick pop finger unlike other reviewers and yes it goes off around automatic doors but for flat out highway use this is your baby. Just buy it you will be amazed. It is not slow as one person in 2011 posted, it must have not had band segmentation or they didn't know how to use it properly!
Very good detector. Just pay attention it can't be used in commercial vehicle, only in private vehicle
The quick trigger/instant on response time has been addressed with the latest expert firmware update allowing band segmentation and radar detector rejection(rdr) filter to be toggled off. This update has given the this detector smoking fast reactivity against quick trigger encounters. The redline is now the king of all windshield mount detectors including the vaunted V1!!!
Pros: Awesome range on all bands, lightning fast response and the ability to connect to the escort live smart cable for full GPS functionality
Cons: None! I only wish they would offer a blue LED version but I guess with the name redline that wouldn't make a whole lot of sense.
This is my first radar detector, and I love it. I also purchased the LIVE Smart Cord, absolutely love this setup!!
It's range in constant-on X, wideband & super wideband Ka is impressive, and likely the best among all window units. Its performance with off axis, odd elevations, and many barriers is great. However, it does very poorly in regards to quick trigger (QT)/instant-on (I/o) radar, as well as certain photo cops in wideband Ka. This detector actively changes sensitivity with its settings and often the detector decides on what it tells you and what it doesn't. The goal is to not sound fales, but alert you to real radar. This filtering comes at the price of reaction speed. More processes have to occur, and many false filters use a time delay in their relay. Ultimately, what this equates to is if instant-on radar is used a few thousand feet ahead on a car in front of you, the Redline may not provide any alert whatsoever, where as other high end detectors do this well. I've watched this detector go through a few of instant-on radar settings and remain quiet. That's not "extreme" performance. Low frequency K-band ranges are not flattering IMO. K-band POP/QT is outright poor. Enabling TSR further decreases K-band range and detection speed. Enabling POP causes almost non-stop falses. Instant-on radar continues to gain popularity. The Redline is a slow detector that struggles with instant-on radar. This negates many range advantages it may have and is an easy way to get a ticket. At this price, its flaws cannot be overlooked. This product is being returned.
Works great. Long range and does not over report false detections. Runs a little warm but most do.
Superb detector with better range than my old detector. One can not speed with impunity with the new Instant On Radars that are in use with the GSP in my area; but of all the radar detectors, this one gives me the most advanced warning. You get what you pay for and this is a quality piece of equipment. fhw
Very sensitive - detects true and false alarms before any of my other detectors. This model is best suited for highway only driving. A 9500 model with GPS technology to mark known false alarms would be better suited for daily driving. Using the Redline around town can get annoying - it picks up every automatic door opener! You almost start ignoring it due to the constant false alarms. Not a bad piece of hardware, but it is really intended for highway only use. I would recommend buying this as a second detector, for highway only use. I gave it 4 stars because having gps technology, like the 9500, would make it the ultimate driving companion. Unfortunately, it does not have gps like the 9500.
Currently own, the X-50 and purchased the Redline and noticed the redline outperforms the X-50 especially around curves and on overpasses, on my normal everyday route where ther are familiar speedtraps

Overview: The Escort RedLine radar, laser, and safety detector includes full X, K, SuperWide Ka, and Safety Warning System radar capability with front and rear laser detection. It also features dual antenna with varactor-tuned (VTO) microwave receiver, digital signal processing (DSP) for superior range and reduced false alarms, Mute and AutoMute functions, as well as audible and visual band alerts.
TotalShield Technology: TotalShield technology makes the RedLine completely invisible to radar detector detectors.
Dual Antenna Design: The Escort RedLine's new twin antenna design introduces an all new level of radar performance. Tuned specifically for each radar band, this approach enables RedLine to deliver the longest possible warning on all radar bands, including the latest "POP" mode.
|X-band||10.525 GHZ (+/-25 MHz)|
|K-band||24.150 GHZ (+/-100 MHz)|
|Ka-band||34.700 GHZ (+/-1300 MHz)|
Laser Detection: The RedLine's multiple laser sensor are strategically positioned to detect even the smallest amount of laser light, including off-axis signals. Operating Laser band - 904nm, 33 MHz bandwidth.
Sensitivity Levels: You can choose from three levels of sensitivity; including Highway (full sensitivity), Auto (filtered mode), and Auto NoX (filtered but without X-Band).
Digital Signal Processing (DSP): Escort's patented AutoMode logic continuously analyzes all incoming signal and automatically rejects unwanted false alarms. The result is long-range protection without unnecessary alerts.
TSR Software: TSR (Threat-Signal Ranking) software intelligently sorts, ranks, and rejects false alarms automatically in X and K-band sources. The result is ultimate protection without excessive false alarms.
Easy-to-Use: The Escort RedLine is simple to use and operate. Preset at the factory, RedLine is optimized for North America. However, you can customize the unit to meet your specific driving style.
LED Display with Brightness Control: RedLine's alphanumeric display consists of 280 individual LEDs to provide an intuitive ultra-bright display of signal strength and text messages. RedLine has four levels of brightness, including automatic which adjusts the display brightness based on the ambient light in the vehicle. You can also select full-dark mode and use the power-on and alert indicators on the SmartCord for complete stealth operation.
Signal Strength Meter: RedLine's standard bar-graph signal strength meter only displays information on a single rear signal. If there are multiple signals present, RedLine's internal computer determines which signal is the most important threat to show on the bar-graph meter. When the RedLine detects radar, it displays the band (X, K, or Ka), and a precise bar-graph of the signal strength. When RedLine detects a laser signal, the display with show "Laser". When it detects a POP signal, the display will show "POP.
Note: If you are operating the RedLine in Dark mode, the display will not light when a signal is detected; only the audio and the flashing alert lamp on the SmartCord will be used.
ExpertMeter: The ExpertMeter is a miniature spectrum analyzer that shows what band each signal is on and its relative signal strength. RedLine's ExpertMeter simultaneously tracks up to 8 radar signals. It provides detailed information on up to (2) Ka-band, (2) K-band, and (4) X-band signals. The ExpertMeter can help you spot a change in your normal driving environment.
SpecDisplay: The RedLine's SpecDisplay option is for the experience detector user. In this mode, the RedLine will display the actual numeric frequency of the radar signal being received.
Clear Digital Voice Alerts: RedLine's easy to understand digital voice alerts keep you informed without taking your eyes of the road. The RedLine provides digital voice announcements of radar and laser bands detected. If Safety Radar (SWS) is turned on, a safety message will also be announced. You can manually adjust the volume up or down.
Audible Alerts: RedLine uses a geiger-counter-like sound to indicate the signal strength and type of radar signal being encountered. When you encounter radar, RedLine's audible alert will sound and occur faster as the signal gets stronger. This allows you to judge the distance from the signal source without taking your eyes off the road. Each band has a distinct tone for easy identification; X-band (beeping), K-band (brap), Ka-band (double-brap), POP (full double brap), and Safety (double-beep).
Note: Laser and POP signals are a possible threat no mater how weak, RedLine always alerts you to these bands at full signal strength.
Mute and AutoMute: RedLine comes with Escort's AutoMute feature, which automatically reduces the volume level during an alert. After you encounter and alert at the volume you selected, the AutoMute features will automatically reduce the volume to a lower level. this keeps you informed without the annoyance of a continuous full-volume alert. Or, simply press the Mute button on the detector or SmartCord during an alert to instantly quiet the audio.
High/Low Voltage Warning: A high and low voltage warning is given any time the vehicle's voltage goes above 16.5 volts or drops below 10.5 volts.
SmartCord: The RedLine comes with Escort's unique coiled SmartCord 12-volt adapter which supplies power to the radar detector while in your vehicle. The SmartCord 12-volt adapter features a convenient mute button, alert lamp, and power indicator.
StickyCup Magnetic Windshield Mount: The Escort RedLine radar detector comes with the new magnetic StickyCup windshield bracket that is designed to mount the unit on the center of the windshield between the driver and passenger. The StickyCup is a large 2-1/2" diameter suction cup with a thumbwheel for angle adjustment. The RedLine is held in place on the mount by a strong magnet. A dual-adhesive hook-and-loop pad is also included if you wish to mount the unit on the dash.
Carrying Case: The Escort RedLine comes with a carrying case to protect the radar detector when not in use.

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: I spoke with technical support to answer your question. We think that it will work through the fiberglass fairing, since it works through windshield glass. The only thing that should interfere with the signal is metal or metallic window tinting. As far as audio out to the stereo, there is a headphone jack, so you could run an 3.5mm stereo mini-jack cable to an AUX input if the bike has one, but the problem there is that it would be only audio from the radar detector, replacing any stereo music. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. [ Krissy Jun 01, 2015 ] Staff
