Audiobahn

Our take on the Audiobahn A8000T

Want big bass? Look at our SubwoofersIf you want Audiobahn performance in a smaller package, check out the Intake series amps! A built-in air intake and a cooling fan ensures that these compact workhorses will stay cool through hours of heavy use. The A8000T pumps out 400 watts RMS of MOSFET-fueled Class AB power to your 4-ohm subwoofer. Hook up a 2-ohm load, and you get twice the output!

You get the precise sonic control that you expect from Audiobahn. A variable low-pass crossover trims unwanted frequencies, so your lows are clean and clear. You can improve the efficiency of your speaker system by adjusting the subsonic filter (variable from 20 to 50 Hz) to block ultra-low frequencies that your subs can't reproduce. Dial in the bass boost to bring on a bass-quake!

Like to be in control? The optional remote-mount digital voltmeter lets you keep an eye on power levels from the driver's seat, while the optional wired remote bass boost provides variable control over your low-frequency punch.

Highlights:

  • 400 watts RMS x 1 at 4 ohms
  • 800 watts RMS x 1 at 2 ohms
  • MOSFET power supply

Features

Class A/B MOSFET Power Amplifier: This is a Class A/B amplifier that uses MOSFET devices for its amplification stage and power supply.

High-gloss Chrome-plated Finish: This amplifier has a high-gloss chrome-plated finish. A pair of white cotton gloves is included with the amplifier to prevent fingerprint smudges when handling and mounting the amp.

Cooling Fan: This amp has a built-in air intake and a cooling fan on top, ensuring cool, reliable operation.

Variable Subsonic Filter: The subsonic filter (variable from 20Hz to 50Hz) allows the amplifier to block ultra-low frequencies that your subs can't reproduce, improving the efficiency of your speaker system.

Internal Crossover: The internal low-pass crossover is adjustable from 50Hz to 120Hz and has a slope of 18dB/octave.

Bass Boost: The bass boost control allows you to dial-in a 0dB to +18dB gain in bass output, centered at 50Hz. The optional ABR-100T remote bass boost control allows you to adjust the bass output from your seat.

Phase Shift Switch: The phase shift switch allows you to select 0 or 180 degrees. The phase shift switch can be used to prevent phase cancellation of low frequencies that are output by the subwoofer. Don't Hesitate

Written By Chipster, Topeka, KS on Friday, July 22, 2005

I got this amp a year ago. I have pushed 2 10 MTX 8000 subs and am now pushing 2 10' Audiobahn FlameQ subs. This amp is not only impressive in its clean looks, it sounds GREAT. Never had a problem with overheating and runs at 2 OHMS extreemly stable. One recomendation, get a cap, this amp loves clean power! Don't hesitate, you won't find a better sounding amp or a better looking amp in this price range. PERIOD!

So far So good

Written By Mickey, Batavia, IL on Monday, July 25, 2005

I got this amp about a month ago and so far it has been great, its pushing two kenwood kfc-w009 subs and once the subs were broken in i could really push them with this amp. it looks great and has been performing great but i had first had it wired with the speaker level inputs instead of the RCAs and it sounded aweful, it just wasnt getting enough power. but with the RCA's it bumps, also the wired bass boost is a must i believe

Awesome Amp

Written By Fernando, Camarillo, CA on Thursday, July 07, 2005

This amp is awesome. I have it hooked up to two audiobahn 12's and it pounds so hard that i wear ear plugs when im driving. Its a very good amp for its price. This amp makes my subs hit harder and with more bass then my friends three JBL 12's. Its also a very nice looking amp with the chrome finish. P.S. The remote bass control is a absolute need if you want bass control at you fingertips.

Audiobahn A8000T

Written By Javier, Bay Area, California on Friday, February 04, 2005

I wasn't really an Audiobahn enthusiast. I though they were only about good looks. But when someone recommended it to me, I tried it. Plus, it was the cheapest amp I found for the "watts" it produced. I purchased it like 3 months ago, and Im plaesed with its performance. I have it running 2 10" 500 watt rms subs @ 2 ohms. The gain is set @ about 50%. It pounds great. It hasn't overheated, even when playin bass CDs for a couple of hours. Plus with the intake fan, I am not worried of the amp ever shutting off on me. So I recommend this amp.

Have had the amp for about a month, and I'm very impressed. Currently pushing 2 - 12 Infinity Reference 1230W with ease. Will be purchasing the bass remote. It's wired in 2ohm for the 800w power

Audiobahn A8000T

Written By funmatt1, charlotte, nc on Wednesday, January 25, 2006

this is an awesome amp. i replaced my kenwood kac-9152d with this one because the kenwood couldn't drive my diamond audio m612d4 as loud and clean as i wanted. even though this amp actually makes 100watts rms less at 2 ohms (rated) it feels much more powerful and gave me 12 more db before it started to distort. the sound is also much cleaner and musical (most likely due to the class A/B rating compaired to class D). i would recommend a 1 farad capacitor to recieve this amp's full potential, my 110 amp alternator can't feed it enough. mounted in the box behind the seat in my truck, i have yet to overheat this amp, even on a 3 hour ride to atlanta with the windows down and volume way up. for the price it can't be beat, its even very competative with amps more than twice its price.

NICE

Written By Judd the Studd, Frederick, MD on Monday, September 05, 2005

I bought this amp a couple months ago. I used to run one 12" MTX 8000 400w rms sub with a Profile amp pushing 600w rms but I actually went through 3 amplifiers cuz they kept breaking. So I bought another of the same subs from my friend and then I bought this amplifier cuz I hated Profile amps after my experience and I knew audiobahn was a good name. Plus it has air intake so it stays really cool even for long periods of time with the bass cranked. I have this amp wired in 2 ohms at 800w pushing two 12" MTX 8000 subs. Its amazing. I have the remote bass control knob as well and its worth the extra money for that. I love the intake, the blue light, the sub sonic filter, and the phase shift. I couldnt ask for more from this amp. Its perfect in every way for me. Loves to suck power though, so either have a beefy alternator or get a capacitor or deep cycle battery or something if you plan on cranking your bass alot.
