not worth the inline controls

I purchased the ak451s because they advertised high audio quality and an inline mic and remote. however, the audio quality while using the supplied in line mic cord was HORRIBLE! I was glad they supplied a regular cord too witch made the sound bearable. Build quality low=very plastic feeling but you get what you pay for there.

Pros: cheap for the audio quality once you get rid of inline mic cord. Also cube filling sound when the office is empty on a saturday and full volume on my phone.

Cons: NOT WORTH THE INLINE MIC!! Go with the graedos (maybe) didn't test them

Great sound but limited sizing

Sound is wonderful, but the headband does not extend far enough to allow the cups to fit squarely over my ears in daily use. Like most on-ear designs, a good fit is essential both for isolation and for sound quality. So I had to return these because my head seemed a little too big. I'm surprised and very disappointed.

These headphones are simply exceptional. I compare the sound output of any audio equipment to the range and detail of my reference quality equipment, and was blown away by the performance of these headphones, particularly given their size and portable application. Sound is a personal preference, but these are worth a try - you too may be pleasantly surprised, both by the great sound quality and the reasonable price.

Pros: Balanced Sound Warm output with clear and deep bass Excellent high level detail Broad music range (even with poor portable amplification) Good build quality

Cons: Size of the band may not fit very big heads

Clean sound for clean fun!

Written by Ralph Graves, Staff Writer - Creative, on 2/13/2012 10:12:00 AM

The AKG K 451 headphones are indeed compact and portable. The earcups, though small, comfortably covered my ears and closed them off from a good deal of the noise around me. I was impressed by how clean my music sounded coming from the headphones.

Since these are portables, I spent most of my time with them listening to lo-res audio files. They sounded pretty good, and I heard a reasonable amount of detail. With higher-quality audio tracks, the sound was (naturally) even better. They may be designed for portable use, but I could definitely use the AKG K 451's for day-to-day listening at work, too.
