Now you can enjoy XM Satellite Radio in living color with the XpressRC plug-and-play radio. Its adjustable color screen offers improved clarity and brightness, so it's easier to keep track of XM's great programming.

The XpressRC's split-screen display provides a real-time programming guide, allowing you to see what's on the channel that's currently playing, as well as on three other channels. TuneSelect™ alerts you when your favorite songs or artists are playing on another channel, while GameSelect lets you know when your favorite sports events are on the air.

The XpressRC automatically saves the last 60 minutes of programming, so you can pause and replay music, sports, and talk shows without missing a beat. You can even save your 10 favorite songs to listen to later.

Use it in your car or home
You'll find a car docking station, DC power adapter, roof-mount antenna, and cassette adapter in the box, but you'll need an optional FM modulator if your car stereo doesn't have an auxiliary input or cassette deck. Delphi also offers a universal home kit and a portable powered speaker system that let you enjoy XM in any environment.

Note: A subscription to XM is also required. Satellite radio service is available only within Canada and the lower 48 states — not available in Hawaii or U.S. territories. Portable reception may vary by location. If you have questions about the proposed XM/SIRIUS merger, read the XM Customer Promise. To view this file, you will need the Adobe Acrobat PDF reader.

Exceeds Expectations

Written By Anonymous, Florida on Saturday, February 28, 2009

This is one product that exceeds my expectations, which is a rare thing these days. The XpressRC allows you to record up to 10 songs, plus you can "bookmark" songs so when they come on in the future, on any channel, you get an alert - just a little beep and visual prompt on the screen. That's cool. You can tailor XM Radio to suit your personal music preferences. I have two children, 3 & 5, and I've recorded several songs from Disney Radio. Now when the kids are in my car, it's fun time and makes rides to preschool, or anywhere, a positive fun moment. We sing along to the songs and laugh together. What more could you ask from an electronic product?

Very good Reciever with a Beautiful Display

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I love the Flexability, Sound Quality, and Wonderfull Display. I love the
Color display with the LARGE lettering and the fact that there are several
display modes that you can coose. However, with all the GREAT
programming XM has to offer 10 presets just is not enough...

eXcellent features, poor cradle

Written By KMAN, South Dakota on Wednesday, November 05, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I did a lot of research before purchasing this and love it. The pause/rewind feature is awesome, so is the option to see what's playing on of your "favorate" stations at once on the screen. I highly recommend a direct input into your car stereo rather than using the FM modulator.

The cradle is the only downfall if you're planning on permanently mounting it in your vehicle. The cradle is rather bulky & makes it difficult to mount in a way that it looks flush & professional. But it's designed to have the ability to tranport from your car to in-doors or another vehicle so I can't complain too much.

Delphi ExpressRC

Written By Steve, Northern NH on Monday, November 03, 2008

The color display with the split screen is extremely nice.

As noted by other reviewers, there are 2 issues though:

a. The unit's built-in FM Modulator is 'weak', prone to interference and find that I have to change frequencies several times even over a 10 mile drive. Would imagine the optional SureConnect that hooks to the fixed antenna would be beneficial. The Delphi SkyFi2 that this unit replaced, had an excellent modulator. Had to tune that thing only once in the couple of years that I owned it. However, once a clear channel is used, the ExpressRC puts out a higher quality signal.

b. The unit is also prone to slipping out of the cradle (on occasion) and kills the unit (until you push it back in place).

I'd give it 4 1/3rd 'stars' due to those 2 deficiencies.

XM XpressRC

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The radio works great and seems to have about all of the features I could think off. The one complaint I have is that it does not sit securely in the cradle in my car. After encountering bumps it can work itself far enough out of the cradle so that it powers off or loses connection. This is pretty annoying. Other than that though I have really enjoyed the radio.

Great radio!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This radio is great. It does everything I want it to, and I love the pause/rewind/fast forward features! Now when I get a call I don't have to miss my favorite song. My one complaint is that the radio does not sit on the docking cradle very well. It goes on, but then one side of it will gradually work its way off until the antenna disconnects, requiring me to adjust the radio on its cradle.

I may just have a defective unit, but overall I love the performance.

Nice unit except the FM modulator

Written By Allan, Central Coast California on Sunday, August 31, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Nice unit, all the options are awesome except for the FM modulator, it doesn't matter which station in your car you set the unit to, the FM off air signals are stronger creating a lot of interferance, I have an older Delphi Roady XT, the FM modulator in that unit is great.

DELPHI - XM Excellent

Written By The Car Builder, Warm Sunny - Orlando Florida on Tuesday, August 05, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Well for those of you who dont know DELPHI stands for Site of the ancient temple of Apollo in Greece. Okay enough of the Greek stuff .... this xm satellite radio receiver is packed full of options, has a wonderful bright and sharp display, great features, and is small enough not to be too intrusive. The remote control is a great option in my case, since I had to mount the unit a little out of reach, but the remote fixed that. Reception is good, sound output via the AUX-Line Out is balanced and you can control the bass and treble via this jack. The unit comes equipped with enough mounting options so that you can put it anywhere. I have owned two other DELPHI radios and never had an issue with them ever. The only thing I wish they provided as an option or as part of the radio would be a small hard carrying case to store the unit in when you remove it from the mounting dock. I have no negative things to say about this receiver, and would recommend it to all who want a very featuer packed XM Unit. Also let me not forget I have been buying radios from Crutchfield since 1989 my first one was a Pioneer Super Tuner that still works!! This company really has its stuff together!!!

Great Product! Highly Recommended!

Written By Lou, Pittsburgh, PA on Sunday, June 22, 2008

This is my first satellite radio but I did a lot of checking with existing users
and on-line reviews before making the purchase. I purchased this unit
because of its great color display and the plug-n-play capability that allows
me to use it at the office with an optional docking station.

I had no trouble installing the unit in my 08 Altima. Like any item you install
you should read the instructions and on-line tutorials first. The installation
and set-up was easy and I was listening to the radio within a half-hour
after I registered the unit.

So far reception has been great and the variety of channels offered by XM
have provided hours of good listening.

If you are thinking of XM this is unit would be my recommendation!

FM Modulator problems

Written By Michael, Tulsa, OK on Sunday, May 18, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

When it works, it's great, but like all the XM satellite radios I have, it's temperamental and there are always a few problems at setup.
The purchase and shipping were flawless and the Crutchfiield phone advisor was very helpful in making sure I got exactly what I needed.
I was very impressed with how well the InstallCard system worked, how pleasant our InstallCard designated installer was, and what a nice installation he did. I was sure this was going to be a problem, but it worked very well for me.
The initial XM set up was done on line, but the radio would not accept the signal, so I had to call them like I did with my first and 2nd XM radio system. It eventually worked. Once the signal came it, the radio worked well until the FM modulator began to act-up including getting interference from passing large trucks and other cars with FM radio, and vibrating creating a short in the module. Crutchfield and my installer were very helpful with it diagnosing the problem and are replacing the modulator including re-installation at no extra cost so far.
I love XM radio and when it works, there's nothing like it! The Delphi XpressRC looks great and has outstanding features; I just wish I could get an XM Radio set up and working on the first try.
Nonetheless, I am very pleased. Crutchfield and the InstallCard installer did not lose the star (4of5), XM Radio and Delphi dropped the ball there.

Great Product

Written By Joe, Broomal, PA on Saturday, April 26, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This product really does not have wireless capability. The earlier days of satellite radios had a stronger transmission signal. Big Brother - government - stepped in to weaken the signal. This product really must be hardwired. I bought all the components and had it installed locally. They did a very professional job. I would recommend also getting the mounting plate, so you don't have to worry about blocking your vents or messing with wires to your lighter. The color display rocks!

By the way, I never bought anything from Cruchfield before. I found everyone on staff to be very helpful and professional.

I'll be back.

Enjoy it !!

Excellent receiver! I never miss a minute of my shows anymore. My only complaint is that there are only 10 presets, as apposed to the 30 that my old receiver had. Still, I'm impressed.

XpressRC replaced SkyFi3 that I had been using (with no problems) for about 3 years and is absolutely Great!! Color display with several modes to choose from...the Favorites....the Alerts for favorite songs or artists...scores and stock quotes....smaller size with many more features and although smaller, the display is actually easier to view both in bright sunlight and at night. XpressRC has exceeded my expectations

Great System

Written By brenda, Knightdale, NC on Monday, April 07, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Got the express to be able to go from my house, and to my two cars, and only have to pay one subscription fee. One car uses the cassette adapter, the other uses the fm modulator. Bought the extra car kit, along with the home kit. Everything hooked up sooooo easily. Even the car kit with the modulator. I called tech support to see what cables, etc that I would need for my aftermarket stereo. The tech Earl, was very helpful, and included everything I would need for the car kit. The home kit was also very easy to hook up. I did not need to put it near a window like some have said. I have it on the top of the entertainment center. I did face it towards the south to get the better reception. Overall the is a great system and the portability cannot be beat. Sound is great, no matter which car, or over the home stereo. Love it!!!!!!

Nice Unit

Written By Mitch, Newark OH on Saturday, April 05, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This unit replaced a terrible skyfi3 unit that I returned. The Xpress RC worked right out of the box, no surprises! I am using it in a Chevy Avalanche, with the aux in adapter, also purchased from Crutchfield. The unit is perfectly designed for car use- easy to operate, with intuitive controls, and a sharp display. Also a big thank you to Crutchfield for their great service.

XM Satellite hook up with aux input

Written By Dwayne, Connecticut on Saturday, March 15, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Crutchfield is the best! I was looking for the flexibility of a plug-n-play unit but with the sound quality of a car only install. I recently added (professionally installed) the Delphi XpressRC plug-n-play unit and hooked it up to the aux input on the USA Spec ipod interface (PA12-TOY) in a 2004 Toyota LandCrusier. The plug-n-play is also hardwired so I do not have to have a power adapter cord hanging out. The vehicle swivel mount worked perfectly. The sound quality is tremendous. I can also hook up an ipod to the USA Spec interface and it works through the CD changer through my factory radio. This is a great solution to maintain the integrity of the factory system while adding new technology.

Awesome XM radio. No complaints - does everything I expected it to! Great display. Just be careful - does not come with FM transmitter built in - have to hard wire it to the car antenna with a kit sold separately (this wasn't any big deal - just took a little more time and a little extra money).

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I received my XM Delphi Xpress RC and the P.I.E. adapter late Friday afternoon. After opening the package and checking the contents, (every thing I ordered was there), I read the extremely detailed install information that was included, ( Thank you Crutchfield). The whole installation took about an hour and a half, Saturday morning. This is the first installation I have atempted on my own. The install info. Crutchfield included at no cost was a GREAT help.
The unit execeeds all my expectations, sounds great, looks great, the color display makes viewing a 1000% better than black and white.
I highly recommend this XM receiver to anyone.

Delphi XM Rocks

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I already have XM stock in my Trailblazer so I got this for my wifes Pontiac G6. She loves it. The special features are incredible. The split screen options, tells you when one of your favorite songs is playing on what station. Easy to install. I would of given it 5 stars but I lose my signal once in a while.

Written By Jack, Loganville, GA on Monday, December 10, 2007

I have had this device for about 3 days, but I have put several hours adjusting, setting, customizing all that I can find on it. I have been more than pleased with what I've noticed. I'm going to just fire away as I think of it, and if it's a bit of a jumbled mess, I apologize...

First, the display: The screen can be split into two windows or one big window with all the infomation, all in color. The XM icons are in color with each channel having cool backgrounds that are very neat and a great improvement over any other XM receiver. The screen isn't huge, but it's still fairly large relatively speaking. That said, be careful where you mount the display. I have mine near my gear shifter, and it's a little hard to see in split screen mode. If you have space near your dash, you're set.

Secondly, the sound: I was very concerned that this unit would sound sort of average as a plug and play. I have mine using an auxiliary input on my head unit, and I think this is a must. I was debating between using an FM modulator or FM direct connection, and I used an auxiliary adapter for my JVC head unit. I was told the auxiliary adapter would give a more rich sound, and this was correct. I can't see the FM Modulators getting it done. By the way, you have to use either a cassette adapter or a direct connection of some kind because this unit does not wirelessly transmit an FM signal to the head unit on a specific frequency.

Next, the features. The 60-second rewind is a nice feature for obvious reasons. I discovered something else that makes this different than what people think is good about TiVo (the TV counterpart). On a TiVo or any other DVR, you can rewind live TV back an hour or so as long as you stay on one channel. On the XpressRC, you can rewind for an hour but it will rewind for an hour regardless of what channel you were on. So if you jump around on your channels, you will be able to hear several songs back regardless of how many channels you've visited.

Another feature is the TuneSelect feature where you get to save a particular artist or a specific song to your favorites list. If either the artist or the specific song comes on anywhere on XM, you will be alerted with a very unobtrusive tone, and you can hit the XM button to switch to that channel where your artist or song is. It is in the documentation that you can actually save 10 songs in their entirety and recall them at any time. I have yet to do that, but that would be another fantastic feature.

GameSelect allows you to input your favorite teams in virtually any college or pro sport, and when those teams are playing, you will again be alerted and you can switch to that channel.

Lastly, the layout of the buttons on the unit. The buttons are a bit small, and it's a little difficult to work with without looking. Be careful, as with any radio, while your automobile is in motion....I know - duh.

Do I recommend this - an absolute "YES!!!"

Very Impressed!!!

I bought the Delphi XpressRC (item#040SA10315) with the Delphi FM Modulator Relay Package (item#040SA10112) and installed it in a 2006 Honda Civic LX Sedan 5spd Man. I am completely in love with it! The display (three to choose from) is clear and easy to read, the adjustable brightness is second to none! I installed this product myself and was simple as can be. All wires are hidden, almost looks stock! With its slim design you can barely see it (placed in small compartment forward of the gear shifter). Sound is so clear you would think that you were listening to a CD! Much thanks to Vicki for all your help. I will be back again for more purchases.

Written By Delphi XPRESS Lover, Thiensville, WI on Wednesday, November 07, 2007

I purchased the Delphi Xpress about 10 days ago. I also purchased the boom box to listen at home. The sound is incredible. The process could not be simpler. I plugged in the boom box plugged in the antenna and found just the perfect spot on my desk and turned it on. It worked! I then went online to XM and signed up and within 20 minutes the signal came through loud and CLEAR. I ordered the adapter(not included) to be able to get the signal in my car and place it on an unused station. I had the unit professionally installed and all cords are hidden and it now works when I pop it in the base and turn on my car. The antenna is mounted on my trunk, and the unit is mounted on my dash. It has Not lost a signal(even in a tunnel) and works perfectly. The trouble is I cannot listen while I am is tough. I do wish it had a way of putting an ear bud in it and listening(an airplane or hotel room) This is the unit to buy...take mny word for will love it!

Product Research

Overview: This package contains the Delphi Xpress RC XM Satellite Radio receiver, car cradle (with swivel adhesive mount), a cigarette lighter power adapter, and a magnetic roof-mount antenna. You can connect the Xpress RC to your vehicle's sound system using the supplied cassette adapter or your radio's auxiliary input (a separate adapter cable is necessary). A subscription to XM Satellite Radio is also required.

Note: The car cradle has a built-in FM modulator, but requires the use of either the XM SureConnect (item number 220XMSC1) or FM Direct Adapter (item number 220XMFM1), each sold separately.

XM Satellite Radio: XM Satellite Radio programming offers 170 digital radio channels including 69 channels of commercial free music, plus news, sports, talk, comedy, and other entertainment programming from coast to coast. XM also offers instant traffic and weather alerts for 21 major US cities, as well as live sports broadcasts from Major League Baseball, NHL, the PGA tour, Indy car racing and several major college conferences.

Color Display: The Xpress RC features a bright, 2-7/16" x 1-1/2" full color display. You can choose from three display modes: single current channel, split-screen with channel list (a total of 4 channels are displayed), and split screen with previous channel. Each channel displayed indicates the channel name, number, and currently playing song or program. The display can also show full color graphics of each XM channel logo and color wallpaper. You can adjust the display's brightness and backlight duration, plus activate the Auto Dimmer function, which will automatically adjust the brightness for daytime and nighttime modes.

5-way Navigation Button: The main control knob has a 5-way action for multiple controls. The center button (XM button) can be pressed to make a selection. The button can toggle left and right to tune the XM channels by category, and toggle up and down to change the display or jump to the previously selected channel. You can also turn the knob in either direction to scroll through a list or tune from channel to channel.

Tuning Options: You can tune to your favorite channels in a number of ways:

  • Tuning Knob: You can turn the control knob to scroll through the list of channels. When you find the channel you want, press the XM Button to select. You can also configure the unit to select the channel if it has been highlighted for 3 seconds.
  • Category Tuning: You can narrow your channel selection by first tuning to a channel category (Decades, Country, Pop & Hits, etc.). Once you have found the category you can turn the control knob to the desired channel and select. You can also briefly listen to each channel in a category by selecting the Scan feature.
  • Direct Entry: When the unit is in the Direct Tuning mode, you can enter the channel number using the number buttons on the front of the unit or the supplied remote control.
  • Jump: To listen to the previous channel you selected, you can press the Jump button on the unit or remote. You can set the unit to display both the current channel and previous channel at the same time in split screen.
  • Favorite Channels: You can assign up to 10 of your favorite channels to the number buttons for quick access. You will have to switch to the Favorite Channels mode before selecting your favorite channel. You can view a list of your favorite channels using the < and > buttons. To select a favorite channel, you can press the favorite channel button on the unit or remote.
  • Skip: Channels you wish to skip, you can remove them from the channel list using the Channel Access option in the menu. Skipped channels can be added back in at any time.

Remote Control: The Xpress RC comes with a 27-button full-function remote control. The remote is powered by a 3-volt, CR3032 battery (supplied).

SongSaver: When you hear a song you like, you can press and hold the XM button to record and add the song to the SongSaver memory. You can store up to 10 songs--if you add an 11th song to the memory, the oldest song is deleted. While playing back the saved song, the split screen display shows the current song playing and five other saved songs in the memory.

Pause/Replay: If you get interrupted while listening to XM Radio, you can pause playback for up to 60 minutes. This feature applies to the current listening session only--if you turn the unit off, the memory buffer is cleared. When playing back stored content, the display shows a split screen of previously played tracks. You can turn the control knob to view the replay list and press the XM button to select a track. You can also skip forward or backward through the list.

TuneSelect: TuneSelect finds your favorite artist and song whenever they're being played on any XM channel. The Xpress RC can save up to 20 of your favorite artists or songs, and notify you with a special tone and message whenever the song or artist is playing on another channel. To switch to that channel, you can press the XM button. You can edit the TuneSelect list at any time to remove unwanted songs or artists, or switch between song or artist alerts.

GameSelect: You can select up to 50 of your favorite sports teams and view their scores and stats at any time. GameSelect will also notify you with a special tone and message whenever a game involving one of your favorite teams is about to start. You can switch to that channel by pressing the XM button.

Stock Quotes: You can track the price and daily movement for up to 20 of your favorite stocks. The Info Extras feature will scroll the stock prices along the bottom of the screen while the Xpress RC is turned on. Note: Information is available about most stocks and indices listed on the NYSE, AMEX, or NASDAQ, and is delayed approximately 25 minutes.

Portability: The Delphi Xpress RC comes with a car kit for one vehicle. Car kits (220XMC10A) are available separately for additional vehicles you may have. You can also purchase a home kit (220XMH10) for use in your home and/or office. The Xpress RC also works with the Delphi Premium Sound System (040SA10221). Having multiple kits allows you to move your Xpress RC from car to car or from car to home without having to purchase additional receivers and subscriptions.

Line Output Level: The Xpress RC's car cradle has a 3.5mm minijack audio output for use with the supplied cassette adapter or an auxiliary input adapter (mini-to-mini or mini-to-RCA, depending upon your receiver's aux input). When using the line output jack, you can adjust the level to match the radio's other sources.

Antenna Signal Strength: For best reception, your XM antenna should have an unobstructed view of the XM satellites in the southern sky. In large cities, XM has a network of ground repeaters to help increase signal coverage. You can check the strength of the satellite and terrestrial signals using the signal strength meter found in the menu.

Sleep Timer: When mounted to the optional home stand or sound system, you can activate the built-in sleep timer. The sleep timer will automatically turn off the unit after 15, 30, 45, or 60 minutes.
