This tool gets an unfair bad rap in some reviews. Any plastic tool will break if used for prying. This tool is designed to be wedged behind trim or slid along trim edges, hence its shape. Don't pry hard and it won't break.

The tip may deform slightly if extreme pressure is applied to the tip, but that's all. I used this tool to remove door sills, kick panels, air vents, a head unit, a glove box, glove box trim, and to re-seat rubber door seals with no damage to any trim or seals. The panel tool is still in one piece and can be used again.

Remember: Be gentle and the panel tool will not break!

Its a dull plastic knife. That works great for removing auto trim. I wonder if the manufacturers know of this ? :)

I am a professional automotive equipment installer with over 25 years of experience. I purchased this tool and use it in conjunction with my Multi Wedge Set to easily remove dashboards, knee bolsters, door panels, consoles, trim panels, etc. from every type of vehicle new and old from Audi models to Peterbilt tractors to powerboats and motorhomes. The tool performs great and is especially useful for snaking wiring under carpet and plastic panels, and window trim panels, etc. In addition, I also purchased three more to give as Christmas gifts to my installer buddies and they love the tool as well.
