Many award-winning sound-off competitors put their mid-woofers and tweeters in custom-built kick panel enclosures to get concert-quality stereo imaging. But why pay hundreds of dollars to an installer when you can do it yourself? Just mount your 6-1/2" component system in Q-Logic's Q-Forms kick panel enclosures, and your car speakers will deliver competition-quality imaging without the expensive price tag.

Q-Forms enclosures hold your speakers in an ideal position, angling them to maximize sound quality. Since the Q-Forms are located near your feet, the distance from your ears to each speaker becomes closer to equal, creating a superior soundstage. The driver's seat becomes the "sweet spot" for great stereo sound. Warranty: 1 year.

Note: The Q-Forms do not come with pre-cut holes, so you must cut holes in order to install your component speakers in the enclosures. Installing the Q-Forms panel enclosures in your vehicle may require relocation of the parking brake pedal or other vehicle parts. Please enter your vehicle information or call a Sales Advisor at 1-888-955-6000 to find out if this model is compatible with your vehicle.

Installation note for 1994-up General Motors SUV or pickup/1996-up Isuzu pickup: To install, bend parking brake pedal about 1-1/2" away from kick panel and relocate computer module.

Features

Product Overview: Q-Logic C-Series Q-Form custom kick panels are designed to hold a 2-way component speaker system consisting of a woofer up to 6-1/2" and a tweeter (up to 2" diameter). They are fabricated of durable ABS plastic, color matched to the factory interior colors, and directly replace the factory kick panels. The positioning and angle of the speakers provide optimum stereo imaging and staging.

No Grilles: Because no grilles are included with the Q-Forms, you must use the grilles supplied with the component system. In some cases, the grille could slightly overlap the mounting surface for the woofer. In this case the cutout can be made so any overlap occurs at the back bottom edge where it will not be visible. Note: One of the included installation guides states that 2 Q-grilles are included. That is not the case for the C-series Q-Forms.

Compatibility: These Q-Forms are designed to fit select 1994-2004 Chevrolet S-10, Isuzu Hombre, and GMC S-15 and Sonoma pickups, Chevrolet S-10 Blazers, Oldsmobile Bravadas, and GMC Jimmys. Note: For each specific vehicle, please verify compatibility with the Crutchfield Car Selector.

Factory Colors: These kick panels match the factory Graphite interior trim. The Q-Forms are also available in Pewter, Medium Beige, Dark Blue, Light Gray, and Black.

Installation Notes

Installation Overview: You will need to cut out the mounting holes in the designated areas of the plastic Q-Form. A roll of foam tape is provided for sealing the woofer in the kick panel. The tweeter can be flush or surface mounted. Giving exact mounting depths is not possible, since it will depend to some extent on the space available behind the factory kick panel.

Important Modifications: Installation requires you to bend (with recommended crescent wrenches) the parking brake pedal arm so that it is relocated about 1-1/2" to the right. It is also required that you  remove the computer module attached to the bulkhead behind the passenger-side kick panel and relocate it to a new position below the glovebox.

Not worth the trouble

Written By Kevin (1995 S10 Extreme), East Brunswick, NJ on Tuesday, December 02, 2014

I have a light duty pickup with just the one bench seat and nothing but the back glass behind the seats, so rear speakers weren't really a viable option; So I saw the kick panel enclosures and thought "heck yea" before I really thought of the real life implications of what putting speakers right next to your feet would mean. I ordered them with a set of infinity 6 & 3/4 in component speakers and installed them the day they got delivered. Now don't get me wrong, the soundstage they deliver in that location is amazing, but as it says in the description, sometimes you have to bend the emergency brake pedal and relocate other things (in my case the computer). After a few days of enjoying the amazing sound they alowed my truck to deliver me, it snowed really heavy here in Jersey and I hopped in my truck with my boots loaded with snow, not even thinking of the speakers at my feet. After getting in and out of my truck all day with snow covered boots, the moisture soaked into the kick panel through the grills and shorted out my system. After looking for hours trying to figure out what happened, I found the problem. So I had to rip out my kick panels and now I was out of all that money I spent to purchase the speakers and the kick panels. I then ordered infinity's 4x6 speakers and mounted them in the dash. The soundstage isn't quiet as good but it's pretty darn close. So before you buy, make sure they will fit your lifestyle.

Pros: Impressive soundstage; easy to install, quality material, easy to alter

Cons: Not a "real life"/ practical location, uncut woofer and tweeter holes, too much hassle make roon for them

Highly recommended, not hard to install.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had pondered whether or not to get the kick panels for a long time. I bought the Infinity Ref. 6 1/2 components and at first, had decided to just replace my Infinity coaxials in door. But I figured, I had an extra channel not being used on my Alpine 40 X 4, (50 at 2 ohm) amp and why not just get the kick panel enclosures. The only draw back is the cutting out the installation hole; unless you have a good power saw with an open end, you may end up like me; drilling small holes until it could be punched out! LOL But hey, it worked. I had absolutely no problem at all fitting them, the popped right in, if doing over, I'd find a skinny marking device to fit through the top installation screw hole, but just making it slightly bigger did the job. The sound is phenomenal, with the door speakers, (I have a separate Infinity tweeter custom mounted next to the coax and one in the sail panel), it alleviates the sub in the rear, highs up front problem. The speakers, as directed by the installation guide, have to hang a little under, so it's not a round, pop-in fit, but they look great; don't be discouraged before you're done. I will have kick-panel speakers mounted in every car/truck I ever own from now on, great product.
