Good Box - Great Aesthetics

This is a well made box that fits very well into the rear cargo area. It seals well but requires a little dynamat work to keep it from rattling too bad. The whole install took me a little over an hour, and I didn't really go by the instructions as they are quite unclear. I would recommend this to a friend.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Overall, I'm pleased with this product. The installation takes a bit of time, but it's nothing out of the ordinary considering the box is installed to be seemless with the vehicle. The directions are not very detailed, but anyone with a bit of technical ability should have no problem putting this in. It looks terrific once installed! I have a Rockford Fosgate Power Stage 1 10" in this box, and combined with the factory Bose system it sounds amazing!! I'm actually surprised at just how much bass I was able to get out of this installation, and it provides a very tight, responsive bass that also provides the right level of punch when required. The only complaint I have is, like everyone else, I do not like the grill cover. It's very flexible, thin plastic, and I put a crack in it simply trying to push it in place. That crack over time has grown to be rather large, and to date I have not heard back from Q-Logic on my inquiry to obtain a grill to replace it.

I didn't have a problem with the small cracks that the main cover had in the corners, it was the speaker screen that went brittle all around the edges and fell off within two days. The main enclosure installed just fine, and it sounds only as good as the subwoofer you install it with. I had to go out and buy a metal grill to replace the original one that came broken. But I still spent less then the other options on the market. What did I learn; you get what you pay for. I should have gone for the JL Audio vehicle specific enclosure instead. But I couldn't afford it in this economy.

The Q-logic enclosure is great for saving space in your Trailblazer. If your looking for a ton of Bass this probably isn&#8217;t the enclosure for you. The box flexes a bit so your not going to get as deep of Bass. But if your like me and just wanted to compliment your music it sounds great. I found the installation to be pretty simple other than drilling two holes in your factory panel there is no other modification needed to install. you will need a #50 torx bit to remove seatbelts. I would recommend this product to anyone looking for good solid Bass with very little cargo area loss...... <BR>

Good looking, but disappointing.

Written by: David from Pleasant Hill, CA on November 1, 2006

A decent box, but what a PAIN to install. Have been doing installs for quite some time, and found this to be disappointing for the price. Instructions were terrible, and the cover (although pleasant to look at) was brittle and I had to send the first one back due to shipping damage. Can easily see the cosmetic cover cracking in the future just from temperature changes, it is made from that flimsy a plastic. No complaints about the actual box itself, although fitment will require a little filing, extra hardware (as the screws and bolts included were inadequate for a permanent, rattle free and solid installation) and some measure of patience. The speaker cover included was an absolute joke. Only recommended if you would like to save the cargo room in your TB, as in my application.

Just installed one in my 02 trailblazer. Instructions are not very clear which makes installations a bit of a pain. Once I figured them out box went in fine. I installed a 10" Polk MOMO and that bass is really tight and responsive. I recommend this box to anyone looking to add some bass to their ride with out wanting to sacrifice any space. Installed, the box looks great and really matches well with the interior.

Installation Notes

Features

Compatibility: This Q-custom enclosure is designed to be installed in the passenger's side rear quarter panel in the 2002 and up Chevrolet Trailblazer, GMC Envoy, and Oldsmobile Bravada.

Note: This enclosure is made for the 5-passenger models only. It will not fit EXT, XL, or XUV models.

Materials: The enclosure and fascia panel are made of strong, lightweight, tan, thermo-formed ABS plastic. The side panel of the enclosure features a 5/8"-thick MDF baffle for mounting the 10" woofer. All mounting hardware, including a 2-piece metal mounting bracket, is included.

Enclosure Type: According to Q-Logic's Bass Performance Match specs, this Q-custom is a Type I enclosure, suitable for drivers designed for small, sealed enclosures.

Grille: A matching tan pressure-fit, flush-mount grille is supplied for a custom look.

Speaker Terminals: The Q-custom has two spring-loaded binding posts, which can securely accept bare wire, pin connectors, banana plugs and dual banana plugs.

Woofer Orientation: Once the enclosure is mounted in the vehicle, the woofer fires sideways toward the center of the vehicle.

Specifications: This enclosure has the following specifications (for proper fit and response, the subwoofer of your choice should conform to the following specs):

  • Driver Size: 10"
  • Internal Volume: 0.65 cu./ft.
  • Maximum Frame Diameter: 12"
  • Cutout Diameter: 9.11"
  • Maximum Depth: 8.0"

Installation Notes

Panel Removal: Before the subwoofer enclosure can be installed, removal of the factory side panel is required. This requires a Phillips-head screwdriver to remove the upper trim panel, and a #50 Torx bit to remove the upper and lower seat belt bolts.

Bracket Installation: In order to install the mounting bracket, you will need a 10mm socket or wrench. The amplifier on Bose-equipped vehicles is mounted in the same location. The bracket will install over the amplifier using the same bolts that secure the amplifier.

Lower Trim Panel: In order for the mounting studs to pass through the lower trim panel, holes will need to be drilled in the storage pocket area. A drill and 3/8" drill bit will be needed.

Woofer Installation: Because the enclosure is secured to the mounting location from the inside of the enclosure, it is necessary to fully install the enclosure in the vehicle before mounting the woofer in the enclosure.
