Features

Compatibility: This Q-custom enclosure is designed to fit in the following vehicles:
  • 1999-2002 Chevrolet and GMC Extended Cab pickup
  • 2000-02 Chevrolet/GMC Suburban, Tahoe, Yukon, Yukon XL

Materials: The enclosure is made of strong, lightweight black ABS plastic. The front panel of the enclosure features a 5/8"-thick MDF baffle covered by gray carpet. All mounting hardware is included.

Speaker Terminals: The Q-custom has two spring-loaded binding posts, which can securely accept bare wire, pin connectors, banana plugs and dual banana plugs.

So far, so good

Written By Jon13., Charlotte, NC on Monday, June 30, 2014
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I haven't actually been able to install it yet, but have unboxed it and inspected it. It is clearly of solid construction. It is exactly as pictured and described on the website. Even though I haven't gotten it installed, I have owned Q-logic sub enclosures before, and they have always been very solid, well made, and have never let me down. I don't expect this encloure will either.
Pros:
Provides an excellent way to conceal an 8" sub to add some bass to your ride without sacrificing any storage space or having your expensive sub in plain view of would be thiefs!
Cons:
Description states that it includes batting or polyfill to add if disired, but mine did not come with any. No fault of Crutchfield, as it was factory sealed. It must have left the factory without it, or the description is wrong. Either way, not a big deal. Polyfill is cheap and be picked up anywhere. It also looks like Q-logic could have done a better job sealling it off where the front baffle connects to the rest of the enclosure. I will be running an extra bead of sealer before installing.

2001 Tahoe Install

Written By Matthew, Houston, TX on Sunday, August 19, 2012
Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this from Crutchfield together with a Kicker amp and solobaric classic sub and installed it to my 2001 Tahoe behind the center console. Very happy with the purchase and the added bass without any of the conventional box or wires showing. I would have given 5 stars, except for 1 issue noted in the cons section. Overall this little box does exactly what it is supposed to do, which is add a good level of bass without loosing any space in the back.
Pros:
Good instruction for the installation, excellent bass response and low-end rumble. Absolutely a clean look, not visible at all.
Cons:
Very difficult to control air leakage around the front baffle. The box is of high-quality fiberglass, custom laid, but the front baffle is MDF and has trouble containing the massive punishment of an 8'' solobaric with 250 rms into it. Also, you will loose the functionality of the center console storage pocket but this is not too bad as you are able to use the external CD for storage (integrated pocket with the sub box).

Great box.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have had this box in my '02 Suburban for 2 years now. I picked this box to
add some serious low end to my stock system with out taking up all my cargo
space a normal box would. It makes a HUGE amount of bass. Fit is very good.
Be sure to keep all alligator clips as you will need them to hold side panels
together. Only problem I encountered was with vibration. The insane amount of
air blasting out of this box shakes EVERYTHING!...Had to take all the change out
of my ashtray and 'stuff' out of my glove box but the worst of it came from the
plastic-on-plastic encountered from the vibrations between the box itself and
the center console surrounding it. Nothing a little bit of batting didnt take
care of...DEFINITELY recommend this box to add some nice, strong, deep, bass to
your SUV, still keeping all your cargo room. When picking a speaker for this
box, keep in mind that the stock system/sub is running at 2ohm's. Or a nice
after market amp with speaker inputs works good.
