If your factory cutouts are too small for your 6"x9" speakers, these boxes are the way to go. These truck-style boxes go behind the seats of your pickup. They're made from 5/8" fiberboard with spring clip terminals for speaker hookup. Dimensions: 8-3/4"W x 12-1/4"H x 6" bottom depth x 4-1/4" top depth. Warranty: 30 days.

Why do I need an enclosure?

An enclosure is simply the box that houses your sub; sealed and ported enclosures are the most popular types. A sealed enclosure is usually smaller in size, sacrificing a little volume level to deliver more accurate bass. The ported enclosure features a vent which allows bass waves to escape from behind the mounted sub, augmenting the bass coming off the front of the sub. Ported boxes are louder, bigger, and a little less accurate. Every sub works best in the size and type of enclosure that's recommended by the manufacturer, so make sure you match your sub with the right box.

Features

Materials: The boxes are constructed of 5/8" fiberboard, a material that resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Compatibility: If your factory cutouts are too small for your 6"x9" speakers, these boxes are a great alternative. They simply go behind the seats of your pickup.

Spring Clips: The spring clips, located on the rear of each box, will accept bare wire and pin connectors.

Internal Connections: Inside each box, there are two 0.205" male quick-slides attached to the terminals. You will need speaker wire and female quick-slides to connect the terminals to the speakers.

IF you can afford 6 inches for these 6x9 boxes in a std. cab truck great! I recommend you get these 6x9 boxes. Also I thought I was going to get these boxes Ported And Not Sealed! But... It's better than nothing. Plus I can't find ANY 6x9 boxes anywhere and decided to buy 2 sets. (I might sell the other set to my friend.)

Finally a product worth the money!

These speaker boxes are well made and great appearance. In fact, I bought an extra pair for some application in the future, before they disappear off the market. This says it all..grab 'em!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I installed a set of Kenwood 6x9's in these and placed them behind the seat of my 2004 Silverado regular cab because the 4x6's in the pillars just didn't cut it. When powered with my Clarion amp they sounded excellent. The bass was nearly that of an 8 inch sub, low and loud, but it won't thump you in the chest if that is what you seek. You will need an amp to get them in the sweet spot. Also, as the other reviews state, be sure to measure where you plan on putting them. No speaker will sound good with a seat shoved into its grill.

I'm also giving these a 4 star rating. Like said, be absolutely sure of all factors before you decide to put these boxes behind a truck seat. It turned out that once I got these, they didn't even fit on the side that I thought they would the best, but with 2 modifications to the seat. Be modest when making pre measurements to test if these will fit, add an inch or so to each measurement. Overall they're great boxes and are extremely well built, better than anything I could have done myself, and they look great. After I got them in, and settled down, I couldn't be happier.

Old truck upgrade

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These boxes are great quality, great price. And for most aplications work very well. But I originally bought them for my 70's Ford std. cab truck. They DO NOT fit behind the stock seat, I would guess that other simular trucks would be in the same boat. So be very carefull with those measurements, I would even suggest making a model out of cardboard, don't forget the speaker grill!!! I know this sounds like a lot for a set of $30 boxes, but trust me, it's easier to know your plans will work when you get your stuff.
