At Crutchfield, you'll get detailed, accurate information that's hard to find elsewhere.
That's because we have our own in-house Product Research team — they open the box,
verify contents, check the owner's manual, and record dimensions, features and specs.

Woofers
Woofer Cones:
Each woofer features a
titanium wet-powder-coated polypropylene cone. Extremely fine and absolutely
pure titanium powder is applied to the polypropylene cones, resulting in an
increase to the cone's strength-to-weight-ratio and a reduction of unwanted
out-of-bandwidth harmonics and acoustical distortion.
For an even smoother
response and improved durability, each speaker uses a rubber surround.
Composite Baskets: Using a
combination of polyamide ABS composite reinforced with extremely short glass
fibers, the baskets can withstand temperature and humidity extremes with little,
if any, reaction.
Speaker Connection Terminals:
The solid one-piece connection terminals provide all possible connection
options. Whether plug-connected, screw-connected or soldered, even with
heavy-duty twin-core leads, the connections stay secure, effectively cutting out
transfer resistance.
Flush-mount Rings: If you want
to use the grilles, you will need use the flush-mount rings in a custom
installation. Each flush-mount ring requires a 5.635" cutout. Once the cutout is
made, you will need to make four notches in the mounting surface to accommodate
the pegs that extend beneath each flush-mount ring. To make the installation
easier, two templates are supplied.
Tweeters
Tweeters: Each speaker uses a 1" titanium
dome tweeter for crisp, clear highs.
Metal Tweeter Housings: Each
tweeter is encapsulated within a specially designed metal cooling housing.
Coupled to the tweeter's motor assembly, the excess energy generated inside the
tweeter's magnet and voice coil assembly is dissipated into the surrounding
environment providing exceptional performance, improved power handling and high
reliability.
Tweeter
Mounting Options: The tweeters may be flush, flush angle, or
surface mounted.

Tweeter Supports: In addition
to standard tweeter mounting options, an innovative tweeter support lets you
mount the tweeter directly to the center of the woofer, giving you a standard
coaxial speaker. The supports offer adjustable positioning of the tweeter. Three
different angles, each 45° apart, allows for the tweeter to be positioned for
the best acoustical reflection angle based on your specific installation needs.
When the tweeter is attached to the woofer, the speaker mounting height
increases from 0.335" to 0.723".
Crossovers
Selectable
Tweeter Output Level:
Each crossover allows you to select the tweeter output level according to system
requirements and personal preference. The tweeter level may be set to "-6 dB",
"-4.5 dB", "-3 dB", "-1.5 dB", or "0 dB".
Tweeter Protection: A light
bulb is incorporated into the crossover to extend the life of the tweeter by
protecting it against overloading. This element automatically absorbs excess
energy (lighting the bulb) and allows continuous operation of the tweeter even
at extreme volumes.
2-Way Crossover Network:
Each crossover features a 12 dB/octave, 2.5 kHz high-pass filter for the
tweeters and a 12 dB/octave, 2.5 kHz low-pass filter for the woofers.
Crossover Connections:
The crossover inputs and outputs are gold-plated screw terminals.
Crossover Mounting:
There are 2 mounting holes in the base of the crossover, allowing it to be
mounted on any flat surface.
Note: Mounting screws
are not supplied.

Mounting Note
Mounting Options: These
speakers can be mounted as separate components or as coaxial speakers. The
woofers can be mounted with or without the grilles. The Crutchfield database
contains the measurements of the woofers mounted as separate components and
without the grilles. When the speakers are mounted as coaxial speakers without
the grilles, the speaker mounting height increases from 0.335" to 0.723", but
all other measurements remain unchanged.
