The Reference Series RAA2400 amplifier from MB Quart delivers the high-end performance and reliability you need for a serious audio system. Housed in a sleek, low-profile black chassis, this 2-channel powerhouse produces plenty of power to drive your subwoofers or speakers. Its convenient top-mounted controls make tweaking the output a snap, while removable end caps hide all of the wiring for a professional-looking installation.

Use the built-in low- and high-pass filters to get the best sound out of your system. If you're using an outboard preamp or crossover, you can bypass the amp's built-in gain and crossover controls for a cleaner sound. You also get a set of preamp inputs and outputs for tapping into your other audio components — flexibility that means this amp can be incorporated into just about any system.

LED indicators warn of distortion, handy when you're tuning up your system. And all Reference Series amplifiers are exactly the same size, so your MB Quart multi-amp setup will look perfect.

My system has plenty of power. Who needs an amp?

You might think you don't need an amp because you have a 400-watt system in your car, or because your new stereo puts out 50 watts a channel. But those are peak wattage ratings, which may boil down to 15 or 20 watts per channel, using the more realistic RMS rating. An amp sends your speakers the power they need to deliver your music with clarity and impact, whether you're using factory speakers or high-performance components. And low-frequency reproduction requires lots of power, so an amp is an absolute must if you're adding a sub to your system.

Best Buy for the Money

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This amp is simply amazing. I had been debating whether or not to get a system, but as soon as i saw this amp i knew i had to invest. And it is definitely worth the money. I have this bad boy bridged to 2 of the MB Quart PWE 302's, and it rocks!! Way more bass then i'll ever need. I can keep my gains turned down and still annoy people. I really liked the hookups for the speaker wire and the power cables. The quick connects for the speaker wire is what i like the most. If i ever want to unbridge it (why i would do that, i dont know) but with the way the hookups are, you can pop them out and rewire them with ease, and then just stick them back in. The only thing that i didnt like were the end caps. As someone said before the only way to use them is to run the wire straight down. Other than that this a wonderful amp. The only thing i'm having problems with is how much juice this thing pulls. The headlights get extremely dim whenever i turn it up. Now all i need is a capacitor and i'll really be rockin'!!

First Time w/MB Quart

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased the MB Quart Bass Package (RAA 2400 and PWE 304 12" sub) about three weeks ago. I recommend the amp and sub package to everyone on a budget and want expensive high quality sound. I got the 304 in a Q Logic QLH-1.0012SS 1 cf box (small box for a small car, maximizing trunk space for groceries). The bass is smooth and tight.

Installation was straight forward. The only thing I have to whine about was not doing my homework prior to the purchase. The only way to hook up the 304 to the amp is to wire the dual 4 ohm coils in series, which brings up the resistance to 8 ohms. The amp, bridged to 4 ohms will put out 800w. In series though, it is only 400w. I should have gone w/ the 302 (dual 2 ohm coils). For you guys who have hatchback cars or SUV, the single 304 will do. Those w/sedans, I would recommend getting the a single 302 or two 304. I just put in an order for another 304 because the bass is not enough for my taste. The back seat absorbs some of the bass. W/the seat down it sounds great. Setting up the amp took about a week. I would pop in a cd and adjust the gains and crossover points, pop in another CD and have to adjust it again. The clipping lights are a cool feature that allows you to get maximum life out of the amp and speaker(s) (wished all amps had this). But w/ the single 304, I have to set the gains into "clipping" in order to get/feel the bass I want, thus the reason why Im ordering another 304. And if installing this amp in a small car w/a small alternator, I would recommend a 1 farad cap. The interior light would flicker in my 01 Sentra when the bass hit hard. Installing the cap solved the problem

Very solid!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I currently have this amp brigged to the MB Quart PWE-302 sub and in all honesty it's almost too loud! I have to keep the gains turned down all the way otherwise it overpowers my front sound stage. I have also ran this amp to my front components (MB Quart Premium's) and they never sounded better. Clear and transparent!

I have had at least 4 different amps driving my front speakers in the past, from 50 watts rms to 150 watts rms, and they never sounded so good as when I hooked this amp to them! This could be because of the sheer power that the MB Quart raa2400 provides, but who cares, my music is alive!!

At this price you really cannot find a better amplifer. And with Cruthfield's excellent customer service, you can't afford not to at least try it for yourself. Buy it now before they're gone and you'll be happy.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this amp to power a single JL Audio 13W6v2 in a reasonably-sized slot-ported enclosure. The setup was a little difficult as the Quart has many configuration options, however once I had the configuration correct I was very, very impressed.

Based upon Quart's measurements in the product manual, I am now configured at ~717-Watts RMS @ 4-Ohms measured at 12.5 Volts. It sounds amazingly clear, tight and loud. I reccommend this amplifier HIGHLY.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very good, solid construction. Well built. I have it bridged at 4ohms, making 800W RMS to my MB QUART 15 in DVC sub, Very good bass. I could make it rattle everything but I don't.It Sounds really good. I like the plugs for the wiring but the lids on the sides make it impossible to put the amp flat on floor with wires unless the wires are going straigt into the floor (nice for custom installs where you wont see wires) but in my case I needed the wires coming out on the sides like most people do. But very very good amp.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Bought this amp to push to JL Audio 12w1v2...and all I can say is wow! Lots of power left to get something beefier even. Running them at 2 ohm mono bridged on this amp. Very very strong, no lack of fine tuning with the built in crossovers. No complaints here! Awesome deal!

Inputs and Outputs Notes
Wiring Recommendations

Trans-Nova (Transconductance Nodal Voltage Amplifier): This circuit simplifies the signal path of the amplifier, allowing the signal to travel through the amplifier at a low voltage. The result is greater reliability, cleaner performance and exceptional musicality with the speed, durability and power of MOSFETs.

MEHSA (Maximum Efficiency Heatsink Application): MEHSA is a process that yields up to 5 times better heat transfer than traditional FET mounting techniques using the exact same components. A multiplayer insulated metal substrate operating with minimal thermal resistance spreads heat both downward and outward to quickly dissipate heat from each device across the heat sink.

Internal Crossover: The built-in crossover, adjustable from 50 to 5000 Hz, can be set for high-pass or low-pass operation, or it may be turned off for full-range output. The crossover has a slope of 12 dB/octave.

Line Outputs: The amp includes a pair of RCA line outputs for sending an unfiltered signal to another amplifier or component without splitting the signal.

Front End Defeat: The Front End Defeat is used to reroute the input signal around the signal processing circuitry within the amplifier. While in the On position, all gain and crossover functions are bypassed. This feature was designed for use with external processors to provide the purest possible signal path through the amplifier.

Inputs and Outputs Notes

Set-screw Terminals: The power, ground, and remote turn-on terminals are on the power plug connector, which plugs into the power plug receptacle on the amp. The speaker terminals are on the speaker plug connectors, which plug into the speaker plug receptacles. The power and ground set-screw terminals will accept up to 2-gauge wire. The remote turn-on and speaker set-screw terminals will accept up to 12-gauge wire.

Note: The power and ground terminals each have an installed sleeve that allows you to use 8-gauge and smaller wire. The sleeves must be removed to use wire larger than 8-gauge.

Wiring Recommendations

Amplifier Wiring: The amplifier uses three 30A fuses, so its total fuse rating is 90A. Since pre-packaged 4-gauge amplifier wiring kits normally have 60A or 80A fuses, you will need to replace the fuse and fuse holder in the kit with a 100A ANL fuse and ANL fuse holder.
