The Sanus MC1A ceiling mount lets you place your LCD flat-panel TV in locations where wall-mounting isn't an option, such as in a corner of your room. It's designed to work with virtually any 23" to 40" LCD panel. A channel in the back of the mount keeps your TV's cables hidden for an uncluttered appearance.
You can swivel your TV 15° left or right, and tilt it up or down 15°. Sanus' Virtual Axis™ technology allows variable angle adjustment with just the touch of a finger. With Virtual Axis, the display stays exactly where you aim it, and you can lock the position by simply tightening a knob.
Use the Sanus MountFinder™ to see a list of mounts that work with your specific TV.
Tell the Sanus HeightFinder™ Installation Assistant how high you want your TV, and it tells you exactly where to drill.
We needed two ceiling mounts to install TVs in our social quarters in front of a mirror & these mount worked perfectly. The price was fair & installation was easy.
Pros: Easy install, well built, fair price & looks good.
My patio on has 8 foot ceilings so I needed a short TV mount that could hold a 40" Samsung TV. This mount was absolutely perfect. With a 40" TV mounted, the bottom of the TV is 6 feet from the ground which is perfect for my setup. It's mounted near a column so I am not too worried about foot traffic in the immediate area. The rotation and tilt amounts are perfectly fine for my specific setup. The mount is sturdy, well built and super-simple to install. I highly recommend this mount.
Pros: Height, Build Quality, Easy Install, Price
Needed a mount for a 40" Samsung. Had to mount it high to keep it out of the way and also had to keep it far enough from a wall to rotate it 45 degrees. This mount worked perfectly. Was worried about screwing lag bolts into pre-fabricated ceiling joists but this worked out and seems very solid. The price was also better than most wall mounts.
Pros: Solid. Adaptable. Price. Ease of installation.
Cons: Did not install itself :)
Unlike a previous review, my installation wasn't fun. My 32" Samsung was being mounted through a suspended ceiling in a dental office. I had to build a framing box becuse the mounting post could not reach the joist. This is not a fault with the mount, just a more difficult situation. The mount itself is sturdy, looks good, and would have been very easy to install in a different situation.
Pros: Sturdy, plenty of hardware, good directions
Cons: A longer post option would be good
The Sanus MC1A was recommended to me by the tech specialist that ultimately mounted my TV for me. He mentioned that the Sanus mounts were the best in the business and as of Friday of last week, I have successfully mounted my TV in the corner of my spare room. My TV is a 38 inch LCD Samsung TV and the Sanus mount can hold this TV without any problems. It was also very easy to install and the instructions weren't too complicated to understand. I believe that the Sanus mounts are worth every single penny. It looks awesome in the corner of my spare room and I would recommend any one interested in a corner mount needs to purchase this mount
This Sanus Ceiling TV mount was actually fun to install. The most difficult part was accurately locating the ceiling joist. After that, it's easy work. Drill a couple of holes in the joist for the lag bolts and you're pretty close to done.
Pros: Takes less than 20 minutes to install.
Cons: Locating the ceiling joist if you don't have a stud finder.
Scratch & Dent items may be missing non-essential accessories. In some cases the manufacturer's accessories have been replaced with generic equivalents.
