High-performance speakers deserve high-performance stands. From top to bottom, Sanus' latest wood speaker stands combine fine furniture looks with ultra-rigid construction for solid support and optimum sound quality.

Each base and top plate is made of anti-resonant MDF and has a smooth low-luster black finish. Brass speaker studs and neoprene pads are included to isolate the speaker from the top plate. Plastic feet for the underside of the base plate protect wood or tile floors (adjustable carpet spikes also included). Clean lines with a functional great look

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I recieved the product in just a couple days and was in fine shape after shipping. The instructions were very simple and I did discover a simple trick for installing the speaker wire channel which hides the speaker wire going up from the base of the speaker stand to the speaker itself. If you would mount the bottom base of the stand to the main vertical upright first, then the act of installing the sheet of vinyl provided for the speaker wire cover to the main upright will be made simple. Start by putting a slight curve or bend in the vinyl and insert it into the slots already made on the main upright of the stand. With a light push with one hand and the other hand putting a light squeeze on the viynl to help it be made into a radius, you can then safely install the speaker wire cover without it becoming bent or kinked. Finally you can then mount the top plate for the speaker to sit on.

Pros: Easily assembled and looks great with our cherry finished Polk Audio speakers. I will be ordering this item again right away for another set of Polk Audio' s cherry finish speakers.

Cons: None at this time

Good, not perfect.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cheap, sturdy, easy to assemble, attractive. All-in-all, very good, EXCEPT for the absurd flexible plastic backing that's supposed to hide cables. It's just a bad idea. I finally gave up on it - the plastic, which you bend into a 'U', kept springing out of the guide-slits. Poorly thought out wire management notwithstanding, they do the job. Mine have the cherry pillars and the black base and black platform for the speakers: very attractive.

Pros: Cheap, sturdy, attractive, very easy to assemble.

Cons: Really tricky and badly-thought out wire management.

After years of having my Mission 701s on the floor, I decided to finally get some quality stands. What a difference!! Clearer bass, more focussed soundstage!!

Pros: Improved sound

Cons: NONE~~~~

Excellent

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I enjoy a range of music, from delicate classical to driving sixties, but at moderate loudness. I needed something to increase the bass and bring out the softer sound details from my living room quad system, which consists of two 3-foot high speakers and two 1-foot-high speakers which sit directly on the wood floor. Upon raising the two smaller speakers off the floor by putting them on these speaker stands, the difference in sound was striking. Furthermore, this kit was easy to put together - about 25 minutes.

Pros: Negates the need for increased volume.

Cons: None.

Well crafted

Attractive Speaker Stands

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These speaker stands a attractive and well built. I assembled the two stands in 15 min. The included rubber feet for the base work well on hardwood floor. The cherry color wood is a little lighter than I expected but is nice.

Pros: Well built, wires are concealed, choice of hardware for carpet or hardwood floor

Cons: No complaints.

Great price. Great little speaker stands.

Written by: EM from Midlothian, Va on June 2, 2014

These are great little speaker stands. I really like the price considering how nice these look. They come with both carpet spikes and rubber feet for hard floors. They were easy to put together. I also really liked the channel in the back to hide the wires which keeps things looking neat.

Pros: Price, Value and Funtionality

Cons: None

Nice value but not perfect

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Looking to replace some stands that were a few inches too short, without spikes and showing a bit of wear, I decided to go with these Sanus 18" stands. They are nicely finished but not glossy piano black. They are glossy paint, not a glossy lacquer you would see on a piano. The stands are very easy to assemble, although the flexible strip that hides the speaker cord can be a bit tricky. I have only a couple minor issues that may only apply to me. The top part of the stand (that holds the speaker) has a hole pre-drilled in order to fish the speaker cable up through. This will only work for relatively small speakers. Larger speakers cover the hole and there is not enough clearance between the support mechanisms (small spikes or adhesive vinyl) and the speaker to allow their use. The other issue is the support spikes themselves. Those on the bottom work well on the carpet. The option to spike the top platform makes no sense to me. At best, with heavy speakers you will leave an imprint. I communicated this issue to both Sanus and Crutchfield and received a quick, in depth response from both. While my B & W speakers are under the recommended weight the stands were designed for, the combinations seems a bit top heavy to me. I would say these are attractive stands, but would work best with lighter (<15 lbs.) speakers with a footprint no bigger than the top platform.

Pros: Attractive, easy to assemble, properly priced.

Cons: Less suitable for larger, heavier speakers.

Great stands, so-so packaging

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very nice looking speaker stands. Easy to assemble. Seem like they're solid and will last a long time.

First shipment shipped in the Sanus product box. Sanus makes better speaker stands than they do boxes, it seems, because the stands arrived pretty beat up. Crutchfield was apologetic and quick on a reship, this time packed with a ton of packing peanuts. Thanks, Crutchfield!

Quality Speaker Stands!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have been very pleased with this purchase. They blend in to the living room well, and are high quality stands. Only complaint is that one of the stands did not have the holes drilled in the top to place the brass speaker studs into, so was forced to use the speaker pads instead. Other than that, I highly recommend.

Sanus NF18 speaker stands

Written by: Russ from Memphis, TN on February 9, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

These stands are first of all sturdy. They have a nice black finish that looks professional. They are easy to assemble and really look nice with the Infinity 160 bookshelf speakers I recently purchased. The carpet spikes are nice and the larger top plate provided better support for my larger surround speakers.

My only gripe, albeit a minor one, is that I wish these stands had height-adjustable plastic feet, because on of my speaker stands is on tile floor. This made it a little annoying when trying to find the perfect spot to keep it from rocking (probably poor construction in my house ha!).

Features

Design: Each base is made of anti-resonant MDF finished with three coats of hand-sanded black lacquer. Adjustable floor spikes are included to provide stable footing on carpeted floors, and to further minimize resonance. A single sturdy black pillar supports the low-profile top plate, which features a choice of neoprene isolation pads or brass isolation studs. Plastic wire covers give your speaker stands a neater look by concealing the wires completely.

Spiked Feet: The spiked feet pierce the carpeting and anchor the stand to the floor, keeping the speaker stable and reducing resonance. With the spiked feet installed, the stand height is adjustable from 17.75" to 18". Note: If you do not wish to use the spiked feet, Sanus has included plastic feet that will not scratch your floor.

Brass Studs: These upward facing brass studs hold the speaker stable and minimize resonance.

Neoprene Pads: The sharp points on the brass studs can scratch the bottom of the speaker. If this is of concern, you can use the supplied neoprene pads to stabilize the speaker.

Weight Capacity: Each speaker stand can support up to 25 lbs.

Top Shelf Dimension: The top shelf is 7-3/8" wide and 7-3/8" deep.

Customer Q&A

Crutchfield asked
Why did you buy this?

for front surround speakers. [ Dennis  Jan 31, 2016 ]
looked best for what i needed [ brian  Jan 08, 2016 ]
Correct size and color to match speakers in new listening area. Also, Crutchfield promises fast delivery. Thank you. [ Thomas  Dec 06, 2015 ]

2 questions already asked

Use the rubber stick-on tabs included with the speakers in plce of the brass carpet posts. [ KEVIN  Feb 15, 2014 ]
There are no top shelf spikes. If you are refering to the brass carpet spikes they are attached to the base. If I did not answer your question then please re-submit with more detail Ok I see from the photo what you mean-the 2 pair I bought had rubber self stick that are applied when you assemble the stand-not.the brass ones pictured here. Since all hardware is included in a seperate bubble pack I would think you would need to attach those brass corner pieces. I don't think they are spikes, they look roumded to me. Brass is actually better to absorb vibration than rubber. You should not be concerned that your speaker will vibrate off the stand. [ KEVIN  Feb 14, 2014 ]
Yes. They are. [ Patrick  Feb 01, 2014 ]
Yes, I was able to remove one with a pair of small pliers. Note: the speaker wire is routed through the center of the stand so if you remove the small spikes you will have to replace with rubber feet or something else in order for the speaker to be stable with the wire underneath... [ DAVID A  Jan 28, 2014 ]
I can't help you , they are in my summer home and I will not be back there for about 5 VERY long and cold months, but if I recall they were removable. Love the stands they work well... [ ERIC L  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Not sure if my response was recorded. Spikes are not installed. You can use the sticky pads supplied. Or use velcro tape for a more secure installation. The pads supplied work fine for me. [ ERIK  Jan 27, 2014 ]
The spikes are not installed. I did not use them, simply put the speakers onto the flat surface using the supplied sticky pads. If you are worried about them staying put I suppose some velcro tape would hold them in place. Mine don't get jostled or hit or whatever and seem secure enough just using the sticky pads, 4 small triangles per speaker, as supplies. [ ERIK  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Don't know. Did not try to modify. Used exactly as supplied. Like the stands. Would purchase again. Sorry cannot address specific point queried. [ ROBERT V  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Thank you fine gentlemen,I do appreciate the answers. [ MICHAEL T  Jan 27, 2014 ]
yes,you install them yourself . [ RICHARD S  Jan 27, 2014 ]
yes. It also come with pads to put on the top shelf which is what I used instead of the spikes. [ Randall  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Great stands very happy with them. Yes the spikes u can remove. [ RICK  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Yes. You have the option of using the adhesive vinyl tabs or you can use your own. [ MICHAEL  Jan 27, 2014 ]
Hi Michael, I believe that the spikes don't come pre-intalled and are an option. I use the supplied rubber pads for the pedestal shelf that the speaker sits on. I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions. Brian [ BRIAN J  Jan 27, 2014 ]
As long as the speakers are less than 25 pounds each they will work great with this speaker stand. [ Jeff  Jan 31, 2014 ]  Staff
