High-performance speakers deserve high-performance stands. From top to bottom, Sanus' latest wood speaker stands combine fine furniture looks with ultra-rigid construction for solid support and optimum sound quality.

Each base and top plate is made of anti-resonant MDF and has a smooth low-luster black finish. Brass speaker studs and neoprene pads are included to isolate the speaker from the top plate. Plastic feet for the underside of the base plate protect wood or tile floors (adjustable carpet spikes also included). A patented concealed speaker wire path on the rounded support pillar keeps cables out of sight. Assembly takes just minutes.

Features

Design: Each base is made of anti-resonant MDF finished with three coats of hand-sanded black lacquer. Adjustable floor spikes are included to provide stable footing on carpeted floors, and to further minimize resonance. A single sturdy black pillar supports the low-profile top plate, which features a choice of neoprene isolation pads or brass isolation studs. Plastic wire covers give your speaker stands a neater look by concealing the wires completely.

Spiked Feet: The spiked feet pierce the carpeting and anchor the stand to the floor, keeping the speaker stable and reducing resonance. With the spiked feet installed, the stand height is adjustable from 17.75" to 18". Note: If you do not wish to use the spiked feet, Sanus has included plastic feet that will not scratch your floor.

Brass Studs: These upward facing brass studs hold the speaker stable and minimize resonance.

Neoprene Pads: The sharp points on the brass studs can scratch the bottom of the speaker. If this is of concern, you can use the supplied neoprene pads to stabilize the speaker.

Weight Capacity: Each speaker stand can support up to 25 lbs.

Top Shelf Dimension: The top shelf is 7-3/8" wide and 7-3/8" deep.

Customer Q&A

Q
How do the brass studs and neoprene pads differ in the acoustics of the speakers? What would be the function for each?

A
The brass studs are for certain speakers that have inserts in the bottom of them to make them more stable on top. The pads are to help with decoupling the speaker from the stand and not allow a lot of vibration to go into the stands and cause unwanted resonances.

A
Haven't tried the studs. I always use the pads.

Q
Are the top shelf spikes removable?

Use the rubber stick-on tabs included with the speakers in plce of the brass carpet posts.

There are no top shelf spikes. If you are refering to the brass carpet spikes they are attached to the base. If I did not answer your question then please re-submit with more detail Ok I see from the photo what you mean-the 2 pair I bought had rubber self stick that are applied when you assemble the stand-not.the brass ones pictured here. Since all hardware is included in a seperate bubble pack I would think you would need to attach those brass corner pieces. I don't think they are spikes, they look roumded to me. Brass is actually better to absorb vibration than rubber. You should not be concerned that your speaker will vibrate off the stand.
kevin  Feb 14, 2014
A
Yes. They are.
patrick  Feb 01, 2014

Yes, I was able to remove one with a pair of small pliers. Note: the speaker wire is routed through the center of the stand so if you remove the small spikes you will have to replace with rubber feet or something else in order for the speaker to be stable with the wire underneath...

I can't help you , they are in my summer home and I will not be back there for about 5 VERY long and cold months, but if I recall they were removable. Love the stands they work well...

Not sure if my response was recorded. Spikes are not installed. You can use the sticky pads supplied. Or use velcro tape for a more secure installation. The pads supplied work fine for me.
erik  Jan 27, 2014

The spikes are not installed. I did not use them, simply put the speakers onto the flat surface using the supplied sticky pads. If you are worried about them staying put I suppose some velcro tape would hold them in place. Mine don't get jostled or hit or whatever and seem secure enough just using the sticky pads, 4 small triangles per speaker, as supplies.

Don't know. Did not try to modify. Used exactly as supplied. Like the stands. Would purchase again. Sorry cannot address specific point queried.

A
yes,you install them yourself .
richard s  Jan 27, 2014
A
yes. It also come with pads to put on the top shelf which is what I used instead of the spikes.
randall  Jan 27, 2014

Great stands very happy with them. Yes the spikes u can remove.
rick  Jan 27, 2014
A
Yes. You have the option of using the adhesive vinyl tabs or you can use your own.
michael  Jan 27, 2014
A
Hi Michael, I believe that the spikes don't come pre-intalled and are an option. I use the supplied rubber pads for the pedestal shelf that the speaker sits on. I hope that helps, and let me know if you have any more questions. Brian

Q
I have a vintage pair of Epicure 170 floor speakers I'd like to use with this product. Speakers are 24" x 13 1/2" x 9" and are 40 lbs. Would they be suitable for these stands?
jersey jeff  Jan 11, 2017

A
I would have to say no. Clearly stated in the discription they say 25 pounds is limit. If you like your speakers why risk it?
lindsey c  Jan 12, 2017
A
Most of us just put the speakers on top of stand and not fastened together .My vote is it would be too unstable and your foot or child would suffer.
vernon  Jan 12, 2017
A
Yes they would be fine. I think the stands look great
jeff  Jan 11, 2017
Q
Will this safely support the Polk 45B speaker? Just picked up a pair and really didn't think the speakers would be as large as they are.
keith  Jan 31, 2014

A
As long as the speakers are less than 25 pounds each they will work great with this speaker stand.
