A useful product that can use some better QA
2010 Subaru Outback
I purchased this product to accompany the XF228 that I purchased to hang a Vizio 50" TV. The product was used to place a Yamaha soundbar (the newest Atmos model) under the TV. The instruction manual is lacking in scenarios that arose in installing the soundbar with this product. I had to be a little creative in using the included brackets to make a 3 screw per side configuration to make it stable for hanging. What gave me the most heart burn is the piece that attaches to the wall mount from the bottom. It seems that it was improperly made outside of the factory or an issue with the XF228 or both. I had to borderline force the bracket through the fixture before I could attach it to the mount. Once it was on it seemed quite stable, just don't give it much bumping around. It did not inspire me as something that can take to hard a hit. That is just my perception and not necessarily the build quality of the mount. I am not saying do not buy the mount. What I would strongly recommend is to thoroughly research what speaker bar to you plan to use with the mount in addition to properly centering the XF228 bracket. If I had followed the XF228 instructions it would have resulted in the mounting points being blocked and resulting in a lengthy, frustrating disassembly to get the mount on. This I blame on the XF228 documentation. The product includes a good amount of mounting hardware so hopefully it will meet your needs.
Pros: - Flexible mounting options - Compatibility with various Sanus TV wall mount products
Cons: - Quality Assurance could be better - Included instructions should be clearer especially in relation to where the TV Mounting bracket should be, the XF228 manual is likely at fault here. - The product impressed me as possibly not being able to take a significant smack but it is hard to tell.
