Features

Overview: The Sanus VisionMount VMDD26 bracket is designed to mount most flat panel televisions from 42" to 63" and up to 175 pounds on a wall. Its dual hinged arms provide the widest range of motion for extra large flat-panel TVs.

Installation Warning: The TV must not exceed 175 pounds or 63". The wall must support five times the weight of the TV plus the wall mount (wall mount weight is approximately 40 pounds). If necessary, you should reinforce the structure before installing the unit. Failure to provide adequate structural strength may result in serious personal injury or damage to equipment. The supplied wall mounting hardware is not for metal stud, concrete, brick, or block walls.

Construction: The wall-mount bracket is made from solid heavy-gauge steel and extruded aluminum, with a durable powder-coated finish.

Bolt Pattern: Each monitor bracket has multiple vertical slots and can accommodate vertical hole spacing (on the back of the TV) up to 23.5" (585mm). The monitor brackets can slide horizontally on the mounting tubes and the horizontal hole spacing on the back of the TV can range from 10-1/4" (260mm) to 34" (860mm). The VMDD26 comes with M4, M5, M6, and M8 size bolts to mount the brackets to your TV.

VESA: Given the mounting bracket's range of motion, it will accommodate the following VESA hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association:

  • VESA 400 (400mm H x 400mm V)
  • VESA 800 x 400
  • VESA 600 x 400
  • VESA 400 x 300
  • VESA 400 x 200
  • VESA 300 x 200

TV Adjustments: The VMDD26 offers multiple adjustments for perfect placement of the TV after installation. The bracket allows the following smooth and easy adjustments:

  • Extension: The dual hinged arms allow the TV to extend from approximately 3-1/4" to 25-3/4" from the wall.
  • Swivel: The bracket permits a total of up to 150° (75° left or right), depending upon the size of the TV.
  • Tilting: The Virtual Axis tilting technology provides fingertip tilting the top of the TV up to 15° forward and up to 5° backward.
  • Lateral Roll: The bracket allows up to 6° clockwise or counterclockwise rotation to help level the TV after installation.

Wall Mounting: The wall plate must be mounted to two wood wall studs at least 12" apart using the supplied 2-1/2" lag screws. Once the wall plate is mounted, the TV bracket can be secured to the wall plate using the supplied safety bolts.

Required Tools: The bracket installation requires the following tools: Phillips-head screwdriver, Crescent wrench, Stud finder, Pencil, Level, Drill, 3/16" drill bit.

Cable Management: The package includes twenty 8" wire ties and 14 wire tie clips, which bolt to the bracket assembly and hold the cables to maintain a clean look.

Dimensions:

  • Wall Plate: Width=26-9/16", Height=12-15/16", Depth=13/16"
  • Monitor Brackets: Width=1-5/8", Height=24-3/4"
  • Overall Dimensions (mounted bracket): Width=29-1/4", Height=24-3/4", Depth=3-1/4" to 25-3/4"

Sanus VMDD26

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Excellent, well made and sturdy. Very heavy, indeed. Easy install, although
don't try it alone!

All the adjustments work very well and smoothly. Easily holds my 70 pound unit
with no slop in any direction.

I could and would recommend this mount to anyone .

Great solid product

Written By Frank R, Tampa, FL on Thursday, September 30, 2010

I concur with other reviewers - this product is the real deal. I mounted a 52 plasma (very
heavy) to an exterior CBS wall using 10 tapcons and it couldn't be more solid. Given how
heavy the whole package is, I would be hesitant to install to an interior wall without pulling
down the drywall and possibly strengthening the studs.

Best Mount Ever

Written By adsf, Diamond Bar, CA on Thursday, May 20, 2010

I don't see how you could design and make a tv mount better than this one.

The mount is SOLID. I would have no reservations about hanging from it. I think the wall stud will break before this thing does.

It is heavy, which is good because when you move the tv it has a solid feel and an oh so smooth motion.

very well made

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This mount is HEAVY DUTY; it goes together very easy as long as you follow the directions.
. My only problem is that this mount weighed more than my television. I mounted
this to a 58 inch Samsung plasma and it looks great however you may need more than 2-3
people to get it on the wall.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Just bought this for mounting a large plasma TV in a custom built AV bookshelf...And while it's indeed pricey and a bit tricky to get set up - it's well worth the price. Once installed, it's very easy to pull out the TV to add cords and/or make adjustments on the (normally) hard to reach back side. I just wish I had used this for my other TV! It's as solid as you can ask for as well - just be sure to bolt to sturdy studs.

Perfect Mounting System

Written By Ron, Cleveland, OH on Friday, August 28, 2009

I used this Sanus mount for a 46-inch Sony XBR. The solid mounting bracket attached easily to the wall. (I purchased lag-bolts rather than use those included as there were a couple of reports of bolt heads twisting off.) There is a sufficient number of holes, so aligning the bracket with wall studs is not a problem. The assembly that attaches to the television is made of high quality materials. With the help of a friend, attaching the television assembly to the wall mount was not difficult. The tilt and swing adjustments made leveling the television easy. Since the installation I've had to make no adjustments to this high-quality mounting system.

By far the best mount. Heavy and robust the only way to go if you want a mount that needs wide range of adjustment. Awkward to mount in tight spaces but well worth it.

Check Your Specs

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased a new 46" TV with the Sanus VMAA18 wall mount. While trying to install the mount I ran into some trouble. The main wall bracket for the mount would not cover the span of my interior wall with 24" center studs. I went back to the store to return the mount and they wanted a $100 more to order in the Sanus VMDD26 which is lager but still fits my 46" TV. At that point I decided to shop arround, which is what I should have done in the first place. I found the new mount at Crutchfield for the same price I paid at the local shop for the first one but with no tax or shipping. The lesson to be learned is check your installation specs, most importantly your stud spacing.

As far as the mount itself it has a very sturdy feel to it. The cable management system keeps the cords neat and out of the way. The nice thing about this stand versus Sanus's smaller version is that it extends further away from the wall so you can turn it at a sharper angle. This works great in my case where I can point it my towards my kitchen bar from the living room. It is very easy to move around with its smooth motion.

If you have ever thought about mounting your TV, Do It! It presents a nice clean look especially if you run the cables through the wall. Everyone who comes over to our house comments on how it is very aesthetic.
