The bracket can be used with TVs that weigh up to 130 pounds. Construction: The bracket is constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a black powder-coated finish. Mounting: The wall plate must be anchored directly to wall studs using the supplied lag bolts. The slots in the wall plate can accommodate a variety of stud spacing, allowing you to easily mount the TV to wall studs that are 16" or 24" on center. Once the wall plate is anchored to the wall studs and the TV brackets (with the TV attached) are hooked to the wall plate, the TV can slide left to right, allowing you to center the TV on the wall. After the TV is secured, it will be held approximately 1-1/4" from the wall. I took the risk and I bought 1/4" togglers and the whole installation process was a breeze. I didn't even use the studs, the whole thing is supported by the drywall! Comes with all sizes of screws, nicely sorted, for all tv's. I used it for a 37" LCD, and it fit great. I really like the fact that once tv is mounted, you can slide it left or right to center it better on the wall. Just make sure you drill into the wall studs. I used a Zircon Stud sensor Pro SL-AC, which is very good. A rachet wrench also works best to drive in the lag bolts. I highly recommend making a small room in back of your entertaiment center and TV if you are making a Theater area from scratch, it makes things so much easier to get at. I was also able to lift the tv up on too the bracket by myself but I highly recommend you have a lift buddy to help..... Price was great; delivery was excellent. Mount is built like a tank, but very simple design... and will easily support the 42" Panasonic Plasma screen she wanted to wall mount. After reading the instructions, and having the required tools assembled, installation was completed in less than 90 minutes. Greatest amount of time was required to measure and calculate where to locate single wall plate bracket, in order to have screen height arrive at a desired location on wall. Once you have wall studs located and know where to drill holes... it's just: 1) four holes to drill in wall at studs and install lag screws w/washers; 2) two brackets w/four bolt/washer combinations to screw into back of flat screen case; 3) lift TV w/mount assembly and hang onto wall bracket; 4) insert safety/security bar and you are done. Could not have been easier. All needed parts (bolts, washers, spacers, etc.) for Panasonic brand were "in the box". Plan to "do it again" for my own 42"... for a bedroom install in an area on top of wall units. A great experience! When needed, installed TV can easily be unfastened at bottom of wall bracket and swung away from wall to access any rear mounted TV input connections.
