Easy to mount and sturdy!

Written By Cris, Lake Worth, FL on Thursday, September 30, 2010

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought this product for a 42" Panasonic TV and I was warned that I shoudn't attempt to
install it on a metal-studded wall. I took the risk and I bought 1/4" togglers and the whole
installation process was a breeze. I didn't even use the studs, the whole thing is supported
by the drywall! I like the fact that the mount is really slim and saves a lot of space, looks good
and is very sturdy.

Sanus wall mount

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Thanks for very fast delivery. This is a high quality, very solid product. Comes with all sizes of screws, nicely sorted, for all tv's. I used it for a 37" LCD, and it fit great. I really like the fact that once tv is mounted, you can slide it left or right to center it better on the wall. Just make sure you drill into the wall studs. I used a Zircon Stud sensor Pro SL-AC, which is very good. A rachet wrench also works best to drive in the lag bolts. No need to pay more, for a great low profile mount, unless you need one that tilts.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

As always, great service and delivery and although this was my first wall mount, I found it extremely easy to assemble and very well designed. It's nice to gain back the table space by not having to use the base mount. Considering I was able to purchase at the outlet it was really a bargain too!

Great Mount for the price!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Service/Delivery was great as usual from Crutchfield;
nothing to it, mounted 4 bolts with spacers because I knew there wasn't much room on the back once it was mounted, be sure to attach your HDMI cables before you mount it. The mount is handling a Samsung LN52A750 LCD TV. Main reason I got this mount was the price, couldn't see paying a lot of money when this one works just as well.

Solid mount

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Very pleased with this mount. The parts provided with the Sanus seemed to be of better quality than some I've seen costing much more. The instructions were clear, and all needed parts are included. Crutchfield delivered the mount and a new television I ordered in 2 business days and as usual, I'm very pleased.

Fine design

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This wall mount is a snap to install and makes wall mounting the TV easy. The only problem I encountered was that the various screws provided were either too short or too long for my flat-backed Sony LCD. I used the spacers (intended for a flat screen with a curved back) on top of the bracket. Not the most elegant solution, but who wants to go to the hardware store late at night?

Excellent Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this wall mount to use with my new Panasonic Plasma.

It bolted up too it just fine and the brackets didn't cover up any of the inputs on the TV. I have an access room in back of the wall where I mounted it and I cut out a section to get at all the inputs, worked great!! I highly recommend making a small room in back of your entertaiment center and TV if you are making a Theater area from scratch, it makes things so much easier to get at.

I was also able to lift the tv up on too the bracket by myself but I highly recommend you have a lift buddy to help.....

One other thing, having that access room enabled me to put in studding and blocking exactly where I needed it at to be able to put in all six lags.

Great wall mount

Great Product

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased wall mount for a friend who wanted to mount her new 42" flat-screen on wall vs. setting on a table. Price was great; delivery was excellent. Mount is built like a tank, but very simple design... and will easily support the 42" Panasonic Plasma screen she wanted to wall mount. After reading the instructions, and having the required tools assembled, installation was completed in less than 90 minutes. Greatest amount of time was required to measure and calculate where to locate single wall plate bracket, in order to have screen height arrive at a desired location on wall.

Once you have wall studs located and know where to drill holes... it's just:
1) four holes to drill in wall at studs and install lag screws w/washers;
2) two brackets w/four bolt/washer combinations to screw into back of flat screen case;
3) lift TV w/mount assembly and hang onto wall bracket;
4) insert safety/security bar and you are done.

Could not have been easier. All needed parts (bolts, washers, spacers, etc.) for Panasonic brand were "in the box". Plan to "do it again" for my own 42"... for a bedroom install in an area on top of wall units. A great experience! When needed, installed TV can easily be unfastened at bottom of wall bracket and swung away from wall to access any rear mounted TV input connections. Sanus builds a great product and I would recommend this model to anyone looking for a simple, clean, easy to install flat-screen wall mount.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Mounted to a drywall, wood stud wall. Good thing I was going to run all the cables inside the wall because the high quality cables will not bend tight enough to to clear the wall as this is a LOW profile mount. Worked perfect for the 46 inch sony. Mounting hardware 8MM screws were a bit short, nothing a trip to the hardware store did not cure easily. Looks great tucked tight against the wall. Thanks Crutchfield

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a sturdy, solid mount - probably overkill for my 30 pound TV. It was
easy to install - took me about a half hour to locate the studs, line up the
holes, drill, and mount. My only gripe is the mount blocks some of the
cable inputs on the back of the TV. I bought some low-profile monster
cables to resolve that issue.

Universal wall mount for 50

Written By Frank, Corpus Christi, TX on Sunday, July 06, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This universal wall mount worked very well for securely mounting my TV on drywall and wood stud wall. Purchased at discounted rate as scratch and dent item, only the box was damaged.

TV is mounted close to wall and pluging in cables is sometimes dificult. However the TV can be easily removed from wall for easy access to cables and them easily replaced.

Using this product for a Samsung LN46A550

Written By doug, Yardley, PA on Monday, June 30, 2008

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

While that Sanus is a well made product it does not come with the appropriate bolts for mounting a Samsung LN46A550. I mounted the panel to a 1" thick back board on my entertainment unit using six 5/16"x2" bolts. Thru bolted and locked with washers, lock nuts and bolts. The bolts included for mounting the bracket are too short or too long. I called Sanus and they told me I needed M8 x 20 bolts. They told me they are available at any hardware or auto parts store. When you do this, be sure to check the thred type because the thred type on my bolts were too small for the Samsung. They won't thread or will lock up. I was able to use the two small bolts (I got them to somehow bite) and I was able to work in two of the M8 x 20 with the help of an additional washer.

Solid Mount for Samsung LN46A550; Accepts a Padlock

Written By David, Columbus, OH on Monday, June 09, 2008

The mount easily fits my Samsung LN46A550, which is VESA 400 x 200. The
hardware is sorted, sealed, and properly labeled.

The quality and design are excellent. With the frame on the wall and the
brackets on the set, I lifted the 50 pound TV and set it on the frame even
though I couldn't see behind the set. The security bar slid easily in place
and accepts a large padlock.

Installation notes:

(1) The Samsung LN46A550 requires the spacers and longer screws into
the back of the television. The standard flat-back screws are too short. The
spacers move the TV about 1" farther from the wall.

(2) The wood stud lag screws provided with the kit are 2.5" long. If your
walls have 2 x 4's inside, these bolts will work well. My house was built in
1960 and I don't know what's in my walls, but the studs aren't 2 x 4 and
are much smaller. I had the foresight to measure the walls depth through
the cable box mounted in the wall to find that my walls were only slightly
thicker than 2.5" including the drywall on both sides. I tried one bolt but
didn't screw it down all the way and it made a slight bulge in the drywall in
the adjacent room. Measure first! Going to the local big box home
improvement center allowed me to find lag screws much shorter in length.
While Sanus may not like the shorter screws, I had no choice and there is
no way anybody will be pulling that mount off the wall.

Good but not best for my use

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I purchased this wall mount to go with a Panasonic 50" PZ700U. It didn't work with that TV. We ended up purchasing additional washers to make it work. Very frustrating. Now that it's up on the wall I'm happy with it but it was a BIG struggle.

Does not fit Panasonic TH-42PX600U

Written By foord67, Dingmans Ferry, PA on Sunday, January 28, 2007

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This Sanus mount, while sturdy and well constructed, will not accommodate the Panasonic TH-42PX600U plasma television. The set's speakers and power cord protrude from the back and prevent a tight, low-profile installation.
The spacers provided could be used with the lag bolts (that connect to the wall studs), but it is unclear whether this would compromise their ability to support the weight of the television. (This approach is not indicated in the installation directions.)
Sanus provided no documentation for this situation, although they specify the VMPL 250 will work with the Panasonic TH-42PX600U.
When contacted, Sanus provided an ambiguous response (a week later) that failed to directly address the situation.
No problems with Crutchfield though; they're first rate!

Great Product

Written By 96-silverado, Asheboro, NC on Thursday, January 25, 2007

This is one heavy duty unit. I was amazed at the quality materials used to build this. It should have no trouble supporting any TV on the market as long as you mount it properly. The only problem I had with mine was, the way the back of my TV is shaped left no room to attach a padlock to prevent theft. I bought mine on a scratch and dent sale. The only scratches and dents were on the cardboard box. The product itself was perfect. Bottom line: This is a top quality product at a bargain basement price. I would highly recommend this to anyone needing a no-tilt wall mount.

Simple, small and works well

Written By John, Bay Area, CA on Monday, August 07, 2006

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

After spending all the dollars to get flat screen, what's the point of a 6 in deep mount? This is the thinnest one I found, and when installed as directed, works well - I was able to support about 120 lbs on the mount before I hung the screen. No frills, but low profile, well-made and clean mounting.

Good price, adequate for my needs

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is my second purchase of the same product. I had a good experience with my first one, so when I bought another 40-inch LCD, I bought the same brand and model. I don't need the tilt and pan features of the other models, as I want to keep everything simple. Installation is a breeze, as long as you follow the instructions and locate the mounting studs on your wall. I mounted the TV after I had installed it unassisted both times, although an extra hand would have made made my task easier. The security feature (with the use of a lock, not provided) is a good feature but not necessary for me. The unit is very sturdy and I'm sure it could handle plasma TV's (which are usually heavier) effortlessly. The installation hardware is well thought out and good for any conceivable application.

Compatibility: This universal wall-mount bracket is designed to fit most flat-panel plasma and LCD screens from 30" to 56". The bracket can be used with TVs that weigh up to 130 pounds.

Construction: The bracket is constructed of heavy-gauge steel with a black powder-coated finish.

Mounting: The wall plate must be anchored directly to wall studs using the supplied lag bolts. The slots in the wall plate can accommodate a variety of stud spacing, allowing you to easily mount the TV to wall studs that are 16" or 24" on center. Once the wall plate is anchored to the wall studs and the TV brackets (with the TV attached) are hooked to the wall plate, the TV can slide left to right, allowing you to center the TV on the wall. After the TV is secured, it will be held approximately 1-1/4" from the wall.

Note: Each monitor bracket has multiple bolt openings and can accommodate vertical hole spacing (on the back of the TV) up to 17.37" (441mm). Since the TV rails can slide on the wall plate, the horizontal hole spacing on the back of the TV can be between 2" and 26.5" (50.8 to 660.4mm).

Steel Stud Mounting: If you wish to mount this Sanus wall mount in a building with steel stud walls, you will need the Sanus SSMK1 Steel Stud Mounting Kit (051SSMK1). Steel stud walls are typically found in commercial applications, such as office buildings, warehouses, and condominiums.

Safety Bar: Once the TV is mounted on the wall, the safety bar slides between the monitor brackets and the bottom edge of the wall plate to ensure the set isn't accidentally lifted from the wall. There is also an opening in one end of the safety bar for a padlock, for added security.
