Sanus

Our take on the Sanus VMT15

The ultra-thin Sanus VMT15 holds your flat-panel LCD or plasma TV just 3/4" from the wall. It's the ideal wall-mount for many of the latest ultra-thin TVs. This durable heavy-gauge design is strong enough to keep your TV firmly in place, and can support a TV with a screen size up to 46" and weighing up to 100 lbs. Plus the adjustable Virtual Axis lets you tilt your TV up to 10° forward for better viewing.

The mount's brackets can easily be shifted to the right or left, in case the wall studs are a little off-center. You can also make small adjustments after the mount is affixed to the wall, to level it, or even change the height. And the handy ClickStand at the bottom of each vertical brace swings out to prop your mounted TV away from the wall, to make cable hookup simple — without removing the TV from the mount.

Features

Overview: The Sanus VisionMount VMT15 Super Slim tilting-mount places 26"-46" TVs just 0.75" from the wall, yet still allows up to 10° of tilting capability. The VMT15 features the revolutionary Adjustable Virtual Axis technology, which allows tilt tension to be adjusted to compensate for a variety of TV depths. Unlike other ultra-thin mounts on the market, the VMT15 also offers additional exclusive features that make it incredibly easy to install and use. ProSet post-installation height and leveling adjustments allow the TV to be perfectly positioned after hanging. ClickStand technology holds the TV away from the wall for easy cable access without having to remove the TV from the mount.

Compatibility: The VMT15universal wall-mount bracket is designed to fit flat-panel plasma and LCD monitors from 26" to 46". The TV can have a maximum weight of 100 pounds. Wall plate mounting holes are designed to accommodate 16" or 24" on-center studs.

Construction: The bracket is constructed of heavy-gauge steel and high-impact plastic with a durable powder-coated black finish.

Super Slim Design: This super slim tilting mount sits just .75" from wall to complement the sleek look of ultra-thin flat-panel TVs.

Mounting: The wall plate must be mounted to wall studs or anchored to a brick, block, or concrete wall using the supplied lag bolts. The slots in the wall plate can accommodate a variety of stud spacing, allowing you to easily mount the TV to wall studs that are 16" or 24" on center. Once the wall plate is anchored to the wall studs and the monitor brackets (with the TV attached) are hooked onto the wall plate, the TV can slide left or right, allowing you to center the TV on the wall. After the TV is secured, it will be held approximately 0.75" from the wall.

Note: Each monitor bracket has multiple bolt holes and can accommodate vertical hole spacing (on the back of the TV) up to 16.125" (410mm). Since the monitor brackets can slide on the wall plate, the horizontal hole spacing on the back of the TV can range from 3.9375" (100mm) to 22.4375" (570mm).

Steel Stud Mounting: If you wish to mount this Sanus wall mount in a building with steel stud walls, you will need the Sanus SSMK1 Steel Stud Mounting Kit (051SSMK1). Steel stud walls are typically found in commercial applications, such as office buildings, warehouses, and condominiums.

ProSet Post-Installation: The ProSet feature allows you to also make height (+/-5")and level (+/-2.5°) adjustments.

Mounting Hardware: The VMT15 comes with M4, M5, M6, and M8 bolts to mount the monitor brackets to your TV.

VESA: Given the mounting bracket's range of motion, it will accommodate the VESA 100, 200, 400, 200 x 100, 300 x 200, 400 x 200, 400 x 300 mounting hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association.

Virtual Axis Technology: Once the TV is secured to the wall, you can adjust the TV's angle. With the Virtual Axis fingertip tilt system, the TV can tilt 10° down, and you can lock the position by simply tightening a knob on each monitor bracket.

ClickStand: The VMT15's ClickStand feature allows you to tilt the bottom of the TV outward and hold it there, giving you easy access to the back panel for connecting cables. Once all the cables have been plugged in, you can release the ClickStand and securely lock the TV into position on the wall plate.

Quick Release Tabs: Convenient quick-release tabs stay hidden behind your mounted TV, and easily pull down to unlock it from wall plate for cable access.

Installation Tools: The following tools are recommended for mounting the VMT15:

  • Stud finder
  • Awl
  • Level
  • Phillips-head screwdriver
  • Electric drill
  • Drill bits: 3/8" (wood studs) and 7/32" (masonry)
  • Wrench or ratchet and socket: 1/2"

Dimensions

Wall Plate: W = 22.25", H = 2.0", D = 0.5"

Monitor Brackets: W = 3.5", H = 17.25", D = 0.6875"
