The Sanus Premium Series VMT5 tilt mount features fingertip control so you can easily adjust the tilt without tools. The mount can support TVs with screen sizes from 40" to 50" and weighing up to 75 lbs.
The mount lets you tilt your TV up for easy cable connections.
Once you've secured the brace to the wall, the mount just slides into position. Safety locks that close with audible clicks let you know it's securely in place. The mount can be shifted slightly left or right on the wall plate so the TV is centered, even if your wall studs are off-center.
Use the Sanus MountFinder™ to see a list of mounts that work with your specific TV.
Tell the Sanus HeightFinder™ Installation Assistant how high you want your TV, and it tells you exactly where to drill.
Pretty straight forward. Looks great! Hugs the wall just like I wanted.
Pros: Package comes with everything you need, including stud finder.
Definitely get what you pay for with Sanus. I only use two different brands when it comes to mounting in a commercial environment. These mounts are easy to install and very sturdy. The bolt covers are nice, but not necessary. Only complaint I have is the safety release pulls. These require you to have at least two people to remove the screen from the wall, which is hard for me as I work alone. Still a great product though.
Pros: Sturdy and high quality.
Cons: Safety pull releases make it difficult to remove the screen from the wall.
Product is well made, instructions clear. I had one small assembly issue where one (oversized) washer for a TV attach bolt contacted the adjacent pivoting wall bracket assembly.
I was impressed with Sanus customer service when I called to clarify which mount holes for my Sony TV should be used. They were friendly and knew exactly what I was seeing.
Good solid mount. However, it comes with only one size bolt to hold the TV, requiring the use of spacers that I believe slightly weakens the system. It also comes with four lag bolts to install the mount to the wall. If your 16-inch-on-center studs do not allow you to center the mount, the instructions offer the option of using one stud in the center and drywall anchors on either side. The drywall anchors are not adequate for the lag bolts - they failed and chewed up my wall during the last half inch of screwing in the bolts. I had to improvise with smaller bolts and anchors - I just hope it holds. If I had a do-over, I'd get a slightly wider mount with more flexibility for choosing studs to use for centering it.
Pros: Price; solidly made.
Cons: Only one size TV bolt; inadequate drywall anchors.
Great rack for mounting flat screen to wall. I bought an 'open-box' unit to save a few bucks. Box arrived in good shape and fast. All interior packaging was intact with all parts provided per enclosed list. Instructions were easy to follow. Perfect fit for my flat screen and fairly quick installation. Easy!! and results are great!
Pros: Very complete instructions, easy to follow. Also great support via the SANUS website with additional instructions, examples and videos. Also a tech line to call if needed. I didn't.
Cons: None come to mind.
Good, solid mount. Installation was easy. I am by no means a craftsman, but was able to follow directions with the mount and install without any issue. I enjoy that the TV can slide left or right which allows me to center the TV on the wall. Also, the mount was 100% level when I mounted; however, the mount can be adjusted via screw to level. Range of mount is also good. I'd recommend this mount to anyone looking for a simple tilting mount.
Tilting Design: The Sanus Premium Series VMT5 tilting mount gives you the best view of your wall-mounted television from the floor or couch. You'll be able to tilt your TV from -7° to + 12° in order to give you a better viewing angle of your wall-mounted TV; tension knobs tighten the bracket in place. Tilting the TV also provides easier access to cable connections on back of the television.
TV Capacity: The Sanus Premium Series VMT5 wall-mount bracket is designed to support flat-panel TVs from 40" to 50", weight up to 75 lbs.
VESA Bolt Pattern: The VMT5 tilting wall-mount bracket accommodates a horizontal hole spacing on back of the TV of 100mm-500mm and a vertical hole spacing of 100mm-400mm. The Sanus VMT5 comes with M4, M5, M6, and M8 size bolts of differing lengths to mount the bracket to your TV. It will accommodate the following VESA hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association:
Note: The wall plate must be mounted to wall studs or anchored to a brick, block, or concrete wall using the supplied lag bolts (and wall-anchors). The slots in the wall plate can accommodate wall studs 16" on center.
Construction: The VMT5 bracket is constructed of heavy-gauge steel and high-impact plastic with a durable powder-coated black finish.
Perfect Positioning: Your TV can slide from side-to-side on the VMT5 wall-mount for perfect positioning on the wall. There is also a level adjustment screw on top of either TV bracket to raise or lower the sides of the TV.
Safety Tabs: Once the wall bracket is anchored to the wall studs and the two TV brackets are attached to the back of your television, the two TV brackets hook into the wall bracket. Integrated safety tabs on the TV brackets provide a safe and easy connection to the wall bracket you can hear.
Installation Tools: The following tools are recommended for mounting the VMT5:

Allow room for power outlet behind mounted TV, hope it works. [ JOHN Dec 21, 2015 ]
Yes you can. But try to put two of the screws on one side in a stud. [ Donald Jan 13, 2016 ]
Seems like you should be able to use anchors as long as they are the best you can get for your type of wall. Typical anchors state the weight capacity. You'd probably be using a minimum of four anchors, so they should be capable of holding 1/4th of the tv weight + 1/4th of the Sanos weight + some extra capacity for safety - like maybe double. I installed this unit on drywall, but had cement block contruction behind it, so would up using Tapcon screws to attach. Working good so far. Hope this helps. [ JAY H Jan 09, 2016 ]
If you do it right...yes... You really want to get at least one stud. Use Toggler brand Snap Toggles, and use 4 if you can hit a stud, use 6 or 8 if you can't. Yes it's overkill, but nothing is more obnoxious than a mount that is just a little wobbly. Don't skimp out, use toggles, get some washers too. Lowes sells them by the box. [ KEVIN Jan 09, 2016 ]
I doubt it. I think the instructions specifically instruct buyers to attach to studs. [ Robert D. Jan 08, 2016 ]
Yes the kit comes with some really nice anchors. [ BOB LINDSAY Jan 08, 2016 ]
