Sanus premium series VMT5 tilt wall mount

The mount lets you tilt your TV up for easy cable connections.

A safe design for mounting

Once you've secured the brace to the wall, the mount just slides into position. Safety locks that close with audible clicks let you know it's securely in place. The mount can be shifted slightly left or right on the wall plate so the TV is centered, even if your wall studs are off-center.

Features

Tilting Design: The Sanus Premium Series VMT5 tilting mount gives you the best view of your wall-mounted television from the floor or couch. You'll be able to tilt your TV from -7° to + 12° in order to give you a better viewing angle of your wall-mounted TV; tension knobs tighten the bracket in place. Tilting the TV also provides easier access to cable connections on back of the television.

TV Capacity: The Sanus Premium Series VMT5 wall-mount bracket is designed to support flat-panel TVs from 37" to 55", weight up to 75 lbs.

VESA Bolt Pattern: The VMT5 tilting wall-mount bracket accommodates a horizontal hole spacing on back of the TV of 100mm-500mm and a vertical hole spacing of 100mm-400mm. The Sanus VMT5 comes with M4, M5, M6, and M8 size bolts of differing lengths to mount the bracket to your TV. It will accommodate the following VESA hole patterns in accordance with industry standards set by the Video Electronics Standards Association:

  • 100mm x 100mm
  • 200mm x 100mm
  • 200mm x 200mm
  • 300mm x 200mm
  • 300mm x 300mm
  • 400mm x 300mm
  • 400mm x 400mm
  • 500mm x 300mm
  • 500mm x 400mm
Note: The wall plate must be mounted to wall studs or anchored to a solid concrete or concrete block wall using the supplied lag bolts (and wall-anchors). The slots in the wall plate can accommodate wall studs 16" on center.

Construction: The VMT5 bracket is constructed of heavy-gauge steel and high-impact plastic with a durable powder-coated black finish.

Perfect Positioning: Your TV can slide from side-to-side on the VMT5 wall-mount for perfect positioning on the wall. There is also a level adjustment screw on top of either TV bracket to raise or lower the sides of the TV.

Safety Tabs: Once the wall bracket is anchored to the wall studs and the two TV brackets are attached to the back of your television, the two TV brackets hook into the wall bracket. Integrated safety tabs on the TV brackets provide a safe and easy connection to the wall bracket you can hear.

  • Tape measure

Q
I have a vmt5 av mount which now holds a 50 TV . Would there any problem putting a 55 inch there?
jim  Aug 29, 2019
1 answer
A
Hi Jim, thank you for your question! Since this mount is only designed to work with TV's up to 50", we would recommend sticking with the specs on that mount, and purchasing a new mount that will be compatible with a 55" TV. Chat with an Advisor online or by phone at 1-800-324-9695, one of our friendly Advisors will be happy to help you find the best mount for your application!

Q
My Samsung QN49 has a curved back & is provided w/ plastic shoulder washer spacers for the M8 mounting screws. Specs call for 4, M8-1.25 x 43 to 45 mm bolts. Do the Sanus brackets come with these?
rick  Nov 20, 2018

A
This VMT5-B1 comes with Four M8 x 35mm bolts so, not long enough for your stated requirements. You can see what comes in the manufacturer's packaging under the "What's in the Box" section of the bracket's main webpage. The VLT6-B1 is should be compatible. It comes with 45mm bolts: www.crutchfield.com/p_051VLT6/item.html You can also use our "MountFinder" application to view all the compatible models for your TV: http://mf1.crutchfield.selectionassistant.com/

Q
can I use wall anchors? the tv weighs 32 Lbs

A
Yes you can. But try to put two of the screws on one side in a stud.
donald  Jan 13, 2016

Seems like you should be able to use anchors as long as they are the best you can get for your type of wall. Typical anchors state the weight capacity. You'd probably be using a minimum of four anchors, so they should be capable of holding 1/4th of the tv weight + 1/4th of the Sanos weight + some extra capacity for safety - like maybe double. I installed this unit on drywall, but had cement block contruction behind it, so would up using Tapcon screws to attach. Working good so far. Hope this helps.

If you do it right...yes... You really want to get at least one stud. Use Toggler brand Snap Toggles, and use 4 if you can hit a stud, use 6 or 8 if you can't. Yes it's overkill, but nothing is more obnoxious than a mount that is just a little wobbly. Don't skimp out, use toggles, get some washers too. Lowes sells them by the box.
kevin  Jan 09, 2016
A
I doubt it. I think the instructions specifically instruct buyers to attach to studs.

Yes the kit comes with some really nice anchors.
