Watch videos, play music, or enjoy a photo slide show with the Toshiba gigabeat MEV30K Portable Media Center. This versatile player is slightly larger than a wallet and fits easily in one hand. You can also stand it upright on a flat surface for hands-free viewing. Its 30-gigabyte hard drive stores up to five days of video, over 20 days of near-CD-quality music, or tens of thousands of photos. A large 3" x 2" color screen displays pictures and videos with vivid colors and crisp detail.
Intuitive interface and controls
The gigabeat comes preloaded with Microsoft's Windows® Mobile® software and uses the same simple interface found on the Media Center edition of Windows XP. An easy-to-use four-way toggle control lets you quickly find the files you want to play. One shortcut button on the front of the player jumps you to the main menu, while another takes you back to the screen you were previously viewing.
Play TV shows and movies
Using your home computer network, you can transfer recorded TV shows from a Media Center PC or TiVo Series 2™ DVR to the gigabeat. Or load it up with movies from a compatible online subscription service, like Starz Vongo.
Plenty of music choices
The gigabeat works with audio download and subscription services such as Napster and Rhapsody, so you easily can augment your collections of MP3s and WMAs with fresh tunes. You can also send music from your player through a PC to your Xbox360™ console and use your own tunes for video game soundtracks.
Transfer pictures, music and more on the go
Connect your digital camera directly to the MEV30K using the included adapter for easy image transfer. The player detects the camera and automatically loads your pictures. You can also plug in a USB flash memory device and transfer over video and music files.
Different ways to watch and listen
Use the included A/V cable to connect the gigabeat to your audio/video system. Show videos and photos on your TV, and play music on your best-sounding speakers. When you're out and about, you can listen through the player's built-in speaker or the included earbud headphones.
The player's rechargeable battery gives you up to 4 hours of video playback or 25 hours of audio on a full charge. That means you can watch a movie and still listen to some tunes afterward.
