Best LCD 1080p TV on the market, bar none!

I purchased this Toshiba 47LZ196 set after moving into a smaller space and needing to replace an older DLP unit. I had my eye on this set for awhile, reading reviews and comparing specifications. Finally, I got to see it side-by-side live locally next to some comparable high-end 1080p LCD sets from other manufacturers, and this set stood far above the rest. It's one of the most amazing TVs available on the market in terms of clarity, contrast, and quality, at ANY price.
The only problem I had was a cluster (about 5) stuck pixels. After calling Crutchfield about it, they made the determination to replace the unit, and shipped the replacement the same day. It arrived via freight just 2 days later. The service and support was amazing. This has been one of the best buying experiences of a big ticket item I've ever had in my life.

Pretty awesome

Have had for 1 week. Set up was pretty easy. Knock-out picture. Built-in TV Guide is very nice -- much nicer than old Comcast digital TV Guide. Best feature for me is CableCARD, let's me ditch cable box (which Comcast was dinging me $6/mo for). Comcast requires tech to personnally install card (which is Motorola MediaCipher card). The 2 Comcast techs that came had not done a card before and could not establish connection. I suggested that they repower the TV (they were just trying to do hot install), and card worked fine thereafter. This CableCARD is 1st generation, so does not support 2-way (e.g., Comcast on-demand -- which isn't available in our area anyway), and does not support cable box-order Pay-Per-View (again, something that we ourselves don't use). PPV can be order over the phone, however. Given that cable companies were forced by FCC to do CableCARD and now they stand to lose cable box rental, expect progress and cooperation from cable companies on CableCARD front to be less than stellar. Nonetheless, for me, ditching the box is MAJOR win. Also have to mention that Eagle Freight was totally awesome. Delivery guy delivered into room, help set up, and waited for me to confirm that TV worked. He even installed batteries in the remote, while I was hooking up cable. That experience was in stark contrast to JVC LCD that I tried to order from Costco but came all busted up from UPS.
