Lifelike entertainment unleashed
Designed for video enthusiasts looking for the best picture quality and 3D performance, Toshiba's 65UL610U LED HDTV makes enjoying superb entertainment fun and easy. It delivers totally eye-popping big-as-life 3D entertainment at full 1080p resolution. Its Dynamic 3D technology creates stunning 3D images, and can even upconvert all your favorite 2D TV shows, Blu-ray discs, and favorite video games to 3D.
Standout picture quality
This TV's edge-backlit screen employs Toshiba's advanced Fine Local Dimming, which increases the number of backlight "zones," allowing sections of the screen to independently lighten or darken with greater precision. Every scene will captivate you whether it's with dramatic contrast or subtle details. Plus, Toshiba's ClearScan 480 blur reduction keeps high-speed action in sports and movies looking smooth and seamless, whether you're watching 2D or 3D video. And the CrystalCoat on the screen stops ambient room light reflections from washing out TV images, so you get up to 30% better contrast in bright rooms.
Connect to the Internet wirelessly for even more fun
The 65UL610U comes with Toshiba's Net TV, which lets you access online services and handy web apps from Yahoo! widgets. You can choose from a vast selection of social media and content providers, including Netflix®, Facebook®, Twitter®, Amazon Video on Demand®, and others. Toshiba also simplifies your hookup by including Wi-Fi® built into the TV. That way, you have everything you need to get this HDTV up and running with your wireless network. Plus with voice control capability, you can access certain functions without a remote. It'll even allow you to make and receive Skype® video calls on your TV, all from the comfort of your sofa.
Reason #1: Awesome picture quality. The LED backlights in these higher-end LCD TVs can give you better picture contrast and more lifelike colors than sets with typical fluorescent backlighting. Reason #2: They're more energy-efficient than plasma or regular LCD TVs, helping you lower your monthly electric bill and helping the environment.

Quantum Black LCD Panel with CrystalCoat Contrast Enhancer: The Toshiba UL610U LED-LCD TV employs a Quantum Black LCD Panel for deeper black levels. The CrystalCoat Contrast Enhancer stops ambient room light reflections from washing out the picture, so you can enjoy deeper contrasts during all room light conditions.
CEVO Engine: Toshiba's CEVO Engine takes 3D home entertainment to a whole new level through the combination of three key 3D technologies: TriVector 2D to 3D Conversion, 3D Resolution+, & 3D Cross Talk Canceller.
ClearScan 480 with Backlight Scanning: ClearScan 480Hz technology harnesses the backlight control and image processing technology of Toshiba's proprietary CEVO engine. The result is a smooth and crystal-clear motion video performance with no image distortion or loss in image brightness. ClearScan 480 combines 120 frames-per-second (fps) with the TV's backlight scanning system to create a 480Hz Effect. This LED-LCD TV with ClearScan 480 creates a new level of picture clarity with motion video.
Edge LED Backlight: The Toshiba UL610U TV utilizes LED edge-backlighting for a clear, crisper image with better contrast and color. You will experience a superior picture and higher contrast ratio with Edge LED backlight technology, producing brighter whites and deeper blacks than traditional CCFL backlight LCD televisions. Edge LED Backlight technology, also allows televisions to be slimmer, brighter, and more energy efficient.
Fine Dimming: Fine Dimming allows the LED backlight to be adjusted for a more cinematic viewing experience. Fine Dimming provides control over different groups of LEDs, allowing for precise & accurate dimming control for deeper images. Fine Dimming separates the display into distinct LED lighting zones, each of which can be controlled & adjusted by the intelligent CEVO engine. The result is superior contrast & image detail, especially in darker scenes or programming.
DynaLight Backlight Control: DynaLight Backlighting Control automatically adjusts the backlight intensity based on the image content. It constantly monitors the brightness level of each video frame, even in low light settings. As a result, you see increased detail and greater depth of images
HDTV Tuner: The TV has built-in over-the-air HDTV (ATSC) and Digital Cable (QAM) tuners, so you don't need a separate set-top box to receive and decode over-the-air HDTV/SDTV or unencrypted Digital Cable signals.
1080p Resolution: Some video content is in high-definition (HD), but some is still in standard-definition (SD). The Toshiba LED-LCD HDTV will upconvert and enhance 480i, 480p, & even 720p content to create a sharper, more detailed picture (up to 1080p). As a result, all of your standard DVDs, SD TV channels, camcorder videos, and even SD video games will look like HD. The Toshiba LED-LCD TV will display all inputs at a resolution of 1080p (1920 x 1080).
Video Inputs: The Toshiba UL610U TV provides High Definition (HDMI/component) and Standard Definition (composite) video inputs.
Note: The television composite video 1 input shares its audio signal with the TV's component video input. You can only connect one or the other.
Active 3D Display: Toshiba's Intelligent 3D technology optimizes brightness & color reproduction, while minimizing crosstalk or "ghosting" effects for a life like 3D image. Toshiba's 3D TV technology offers Full 1080p 3D Resolution at a rate of 240Hz per second utilizing active shutter 3D glasses. Incoming video signal can either be in 2D or 3D format. A 2D or 3D signal can be viewed as 2D (two-dimensional) or 3D (three-dimensional). If the TV detects the fact that a video signal is 3D, it can automatically switch to 3D mode. The 3D-ready TV includes three display modes and supports three 3D formats.
Note: Viewing 3D programming requires the following - compatible Toshiba 3D active glasses (2 pair included), compatible 3D playback device (such as the 052BDX3000, sold separately) with 3D content, & 3D capable high-speed HDMI (v1.4) cable.
2 Pair 3D Glasses Included: The Toshiba UL610U LED-LCD TV includes 2 pair of Toshiba 3D active glasses (FPT-AG02). The Toshiba 3D glasses feature an integrated IR receiver which receives the infrared signal from the liquid-crystal shutter control sent from your 3D-ready Toshiba LED-LCD TV. The right & left liquid-crystal shutter opens & closes alternately with the images for the left eye & for the right eye alternately projected on the television screen. In this way, 3D images are reproduced. The Toshiba 3D glasses operate off of integrated rechargeable batteries. The battery's life is approximately 23 hours. It takes approximately 2 hours to charge the battery from the USB port on the TV, via the included USB charging cable.
Note: Extra 3D glasses (052AG01U, sold separately) are available.
Picture Size: When viewing a source, you can choose one of the following picture sizes:
Note: If the edges of the picture are cut off in Theater Wide 2 or 3 mode, you can adjust the image position on the screen.
Auto Aspect Ratio: The Auto Aspect Ratio feature will automatically select the picture size when one of the following inputs sources is received - a 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i signal from the ANT/Cable input; a 480i signal from the Component Video input, and a 480i, 480p, 720p, 1080i, 1080p, or VGA (60 Hz) signal from any of the HDMI inputs. When the auto aspect feature is turned on and the TV receives one of the before mentioned video signal, the picture size is automatically selected; a 4:3 signal is set to Normal, a 16:9 signal is set to Full, a 4:3 letterbox signal is set to TheaterWide 2. If the signal's aspect is not defined, the Picture Size defaults to the last manually chosen setting.
Picture Modes: You can select one of the following picture modes for each input:
Picture Quality Adjustments: The picture quality you adjust under a certain picture mode is saved to that particular picture mode. You can adjust the backlight, contrast, brightness, color, tint, and sharpness.
Advanced Picture Adjustments: The television offers the following advanced picture adjustments.
Expert Picture Setting: This feature is available when the TV's picture mode is set to Standard, Movie 1, or Movie 2. You can make the following expert picture adjustments.
TheaterLock: The TheaterLock feature lets you lock items in the TV's Picture menu that affects the picture's display, to prevent them from being accidentally changed.
ARC (Audio Return Channel): The ARC feature of HDMI (ver.1.4) enables the audio signal of the TV to be sent to your connected AV receiver via the TV's HDMI ARC input and the receiver's Monitor output, using a single HDMI cable. In this case, it will not be necessary to connect an additional cable from the audio output of the TV to the audio input of the AV amplifier to reproduce the audio received from the TV through the AV amplifier. ARC allows audio from the TV tuner, Network connection, inserted USB device, HDMI inputs, or any analog connected device to be heard through your ARC compatible AV receiver via the television's HDMI ARC input. The audio from the TV's tuner, network connection, and HDMI inputs can pass as Dolby Digital or 2ch PCM. USB and analog connected devices will be output as 2ch PCM only.
Note: Both the television and the receiver must support ARC for this function to work properly. When connecting an A/V receiver that is compatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), connect it to the TV's HDMI 1 input. If connecting a system that is incompatible with Audio Return Channel (ARC), an additional audio connection via Digital Audio Out (Optical) is necessary.
Audyssey EQ: Sound coming to you from your TV speakers doesn't just follow a straight line. Most of it reflects from the TV cabinet, nearby surfaces, the walls, ceiling and floor. Each reflection represents a different path and arrives at your ears at a different time. Audyssey EQ is an advanced acoustical correction system that compensates for these acoustical problems throughout the listening area. Audyssey EQ equalizes the TV's audio system to deliver clear, smooth, distortion-free sound anywhere in your listening area. As a result, the voices/dialogue are focused & intelligible, musical balance as it was intended, & soundstage made seamless & enveloping.
Audyssey Dynamic Volume: Audyssey Dynamic Volume eliminates inconsistent TV volume when changing channels or viewing commercials. This feature provides a consistent sound volume between televisions programs, commercials, and between the loud and soft passages of movies.
Surround Sound: Voice Enhancement and Dynamic Bass Boost help to create a virtual surround sound experience with deep, rich bass from stereo sound sources. The TV's audio will sound fuller, richer, and wider.
Dolby Digital Dynamic Range Control: You can further compress Dolby Digital and Dolby Digital Plus dynamic range so you can switch from digital to analog broadcasts at the same dynamic range.
Two-level Mute: The TV mutes the volume half-way when the Mute button is pressed once on the remote; when pressed a second time the TV will mute the volume completely and when pressed a third time the volume will resume as normal.
