Overview: The Nikon Fieldscope Tripod with Easy-Tilt Head (#16140) is a heavy-duty aluminum tripod with a 3-way pan/tilt head with quick release camera mount. Both 1/4"-20 and 3/8"-16 mounting screws are included with the tripod to accommodate all types of camera, scope, and lens mounts. The tripod has an adjustable center column with a twist-lock collar and two leveling bubbles. The curved panning handle can be installed on either side of the pan/tilt head, and the angle is adjustable. The tripod works with select spotting scopes, fieldscopes, and pro camcorders, and cameras. The Nikon Fieldscope Tripod weighs 7 pounds.

Elevator: The tripod has a 9.5" elevator that allows you to easily and smoothly raise or lower the height of the camera or scope. At the bottom of the center column is a spring-loaded hook that can be used to hang your camera bag or extra weight to stabilize the tripod in windy conditions.

Legs: The 3-section aircraft-grade aluminum legs feature foam padding at the top (on 2 legs) for a solid grip when transporting the tripod, and oversized quick-lever leg locks. The leg angle locks can be pulled out and the leg angle can be extended so that the minimum operating height is only 16.5". With the angle locks in place, the minimum height is 27.25". The feet are threaded which allows you to convert the tip from rubber to metal spike. This provides a stable footing on most any surface.
