Overview Details Customer Reviews Category Info Accessories Our take on the Nikon AF Nikkor 85mm f/1.8D Lens by Dave Bar Pair Nikon's superbly built AF 85mm f/1.8 lens with your Nikon SLR, and it may become your go-to lens. This "prime" or fixed-length lens delivers sharp, detailed images, with smooth background blur that makes your subjects pop. Its large maximum aperture of f/1.8 takes in lots of light, letting you "freeze" moving subjects, even when shooting indoors without a flash. If you need a lens that snaps exceptional portraits, yet has enough telephoto power to capture action scenes in the mid-distance, you've found it. Need a case for your camera's lens? Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. I have a D90 and I bought this FX lens; The sharpness, crispness and speed of this glass is awesome. I really love this. I also have 50mm f1.8 and 80-200 f2.8, this lens by far seemed to have produced some stunning shots. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Crutchfield Customer Review The reviewer purchased this item from us, verified by the email address on the order. One stellar fact about this lens is that it's T-stop value is t/1.8. Due to the phenomenal optical design correcting aberrations with a mathematically optimal number of elements via a fast rear-focusing breakthrough, this lens is within 1/3rd of a stop as bright compared to both of the Nikon f/1.4 versions. A T-stop is a measurement of light transmittance based on the f-stop of an "ideal" lens that transmits 100% of light. Rare is the lens which can be rated at the same T-stop as its f-stop; this jewel of a lens is one of those legends. I am planning to buy the 1.8g version of this lens as soon as crutchfield stocks it. Hopefully, that version will overcome the only negative of the 1.8d--which is the automatically rotating rubber focus ring (thankfully, the front element itself does not rotate during autofocus)--without introducing any shortcomings.
