The padded shoulder strap makes this bag comfortable to carry.
You also get two instructional DVDs that describe your camera's features. Learn how to make the most of automatic modes for stunning portraits, close-ups, and landscape shots. Plus, get tips on using in-camera editing functions to add finishing touches to your photos.
Decent bag. Lightweight, configurable. I wanted it to be Nikon branded to match the camera. The DVDs were a nice add on, but haven't watched them fully yet. I am new to the SLR world so I thought it would be nice to have them.
The bag is nice and well made. Nice that they used metal rather than plastic clasps. I expect it will last for many years. The DVD though is too generic across all NIKON lines so it provides little assistance in using the camera we bought. In fact, the DVD pre-dates the production of the D5300 so it is more of a general knowledge DVD than of any value for the camera.
Excellent, spacious bag for camera and essentials. Very durable and excellent quality material. Fits my Nikon SLR camera, 1 standard, and 1 zoom lens in bag.
Pros: spacious bag, with extra outside pockets. Can fit 1 camera and 2 lenses easily, with plenty of room for other items. Bonus DVDs.
This is a great bag, very sterdy, heavy steel clips, thick matieral.. There is nothing cheap about this product, it's worth every penny!!
Pros: this is everything you are looking for in a camera bag
got this as part of a kit and its not worth the price. The bad is a 15-20 dollar bag and the dvd's are very basic and nothing you can not find on the web for free as far as learning basic techniques.
Pros: bag is nice but not worth more than 20 bucks
Cons: just way overpriced for what you get.
Very nice camera bag...somewhat smaller than I was thinking when I ordered it, but...nice bag!
Pros: Nice padded bag with easy storage space for camera/lens + my zoom lens. Mesh storage inside cover for scan disk.
Cons: Only big enough for my camera w/ lens plus one other lens...I was thinking it would store at least two others.
I love the Camera and the Starter Videos. I have not had a new camera in about 20 yrs. so things have changed a lot. It will be a challenge to remember everything this does, so practice makes perfect. I wish that I could get the 55-300mm Zoom Lens with a $150 savings even though I could not afford to buy it at the same time on one order. That would make my Kit complete.
Pros: Love the Camere so far, it's awesome.
The kit has a camera bag to hold all the necessary accessories and camera.
Pros: The DVD is all that I needed. It shows enough to get started without having to read the manual.
I reviewed my D5100 separately. But, the starter kit and DVD were a great deal. I bought the D5100 for some specific features, and while I do not "need" the HD recording and some of the on-camera special effects the DVD showed them clearly and based on this I bet I'll use them now. Nothing beats live (video or in-person) training to show you things you did not know you needed to know (yeah, I read up on what I think I want...). The bag is a great starter bag, and should last me a long time. It's great quality, has enough pockets, the dividers are secured by Velcro so you can configure as you need. With the kit lens (18-55) attached, there is still room for 1 or 2 other lenses (depending on size of course), and a battery, strap, etc.
Pros: DVD: Easy to use, sections are not overly long but show how to use the features. Bag: Perfect size for most as a starter. Quality seems to be great, and enough flexibility with inside dividers for most people.
Cons: DVD: None that I can think of. I personally prefer a YouTube video so the $$ in manufacturing the DVD may instead be used in keeping the content current, but that's a minor gripe. I'll watch the DVD once and probably not again. But the content is great. Bag: well, it does not have a built-in rain fly like a Lowepro, but it's not $150 either! I stick a few large ziplocks in the bottom of the front pocket for emergencies. I really can't think of any cons with this package.
The camera bag is really good quality and just the right size. The Nikon School DVD is a great introduction to the new camera. Saved hours reading through the manual.
Well buit, solidly constructed bag with features and fit ideal for protecting your
your D3000/5000/7000 series camera. Enough extra room to safely transport
my 18-200mm lens in addition to a comparably sized lens attached to the
camera body. Pockets logically designed and positioned to keep my
accessories well organized and easily accessible. DVD provided a more in-
depth tutorial of my Nikon 3100 that was found within my camera software, and
is great for beginning through intermediate photography enthusiasts.
