I ordered what Nikon listed in the camera's manual. But, yes, it is rechargeable as stated on the box in which the battery was held.

This battery is rechargeable. I purchased this battery as a back-up because I take a lot of pictures and always need to go to the second battery while the first one is recharging!

On the back of the battery it says: "use designated charger only." If yours says that, it is rechargeable. Good to have 2 batteries, as when this one gets low in charge, it dies dead cold. Hope this is helpful.

Rose, The Nikon EN-EL19 is a rechargeable battery for the Nikon Camera. I purchased one from Crutchfield December 2015 and have been satisfied with it. Tom

Lately, my nighttime indoor pictures are orangy in color. During the daytime - no problem. A friend told me a new battery might fix the problem. Have you heard of this? Would a new battery fix this problem? Does this mean rechargeable batteries go bad after awhile? Thanks!

I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: A new battery may fix the issue, but normally the battery shouldn't affect image quality that much. It would be worth a shot, but I don't think it will solve the problem. Batteries can go bad, but when they do they generally just lose the charging capacity. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat.
