Vertical Grip: Not only does the MB-D12 serve as a battery pack for the Nikon D800/D800E, it also acts as a vertical hand-grip for portrait shots, and provides a shutter-release button, multi-selector, main- and sub-command dials, and an AF-ON button.

Is this MB-D12 grip you're offering, made by Nikon? Or is it a black market knock-off? Does it come in a Nikon box with Nikon warranty?

Yes, it's made by Nikon w/ box, manual, etc.

This is a genuine Nikon product with Nikon warranty. Very solidly made and a must if you are shooting a lot of verticals. The extra battery in the grip helps make up for the short life of the in camera battery.

Not speaking for Crutchfield here, but the one I ordered IS a Nikon unit and is working as described. Came with box and warranty. Have heard many negative reviews about knock-offs so (as usual) stayed with name brand merchandise and have not had a problem.

I purchased this same MB-D12 from Crutchfield. And it is genuine Nikon with a USA warranty. Crutchfield is one of the most trustworthy online stores - no need to worry about the products they sell.
