Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It's an OK fix to idea of not having wifi. It does the trick. When it's plugged in you can't do anything else. You have to hook up to the wifi signal it puts out then you don't have actual internet.

Pros: It does work.

Cons: The process is kind of a pain.

An inexpensive way to add features to your Nikon digital SLR. Works well with iPhone app for taking photos remotely. Convenience of being able to wirelessly upload photos right from the camera is awesome.

Pros: Easy to install on camera, plugs right in. Easy to use.

I use this with my new Nikon D3200 and it works great! The pix show up on my Android Smartphone and I just choose which ones to download to the phone. I haven't tried the remote feature yet. It was easy to set up.

Pros: easy to use and works great

Cons: none so far.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Great product! Only reason not a 5 star is because if the screen times out, you lose connection and have to go back to the camera to fix that.. not a big deal but a flaw

Pros: Great for when you want to upload fast to social sites and the famous selfie shots

Cons: Only disconnection issues I had is when the screen times out.

Nikon WU-1A ** This is a "MUST HAVE" for Nikon owners!!!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Outstanding... If you want your teen to get more enjoyment out of the camera..make it easy to share photos in the social networking environment, not only that...this thing also allows your phone to becomes a remote trigger to snap from a distance..its also easy to use. Outstnding service / delivery from Crutchfield. They have been around doing this a lot longer than the internet has been in existence. Count on them to be reliable, professional and courteous.

Pros: Easy to use

Cons: Wish it was already incorporated into the camera since its already so small...suppose that will be the next upgrade to the camera model line.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I'm not impressed with the speed in which images are downloaded. I would say it is good to download two to 5 images on the go. Pictures are downloaded one at a time. I don't think I will use it as often.

Pros: Wireless connectivity

Cons: Download speed, one picture at a time

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I used this with my Nikon D7100 and a 50 1.4g at the park to (try) to take pics of my son and I. I set up my camera on a tripod about 10 feet away and had multiple problems with it. All I can say is you better have a lot of time and low expectations. I used a Samsung note 2 with it. When using it the wifi connection was lost multiple times before I could take the shot. When I actually got it to take a picture it lost the wifi connection maybe half of the time during the download from the camera to the phone. What's even more frustrating about this product is that every time it lost the connection and finally re-connected I had to go back into the menu to turn the live view back on. I spent way more time trying to get it working than I did taking pictures. It's like Nikon rushed to get the product to the market before fixing the problems it has. Definitely not for pro use. I can't even recommend this product for the casual user. By far the worst product I've ever used from Nikon.

Pros: You can download pics from your camera to your phone when your phone is right next to it.

Cons: Not a reliable wifi connection. Not really reliable at anything. Very limited features. Basically it sucks.

I bought the Nikon WU-1a wireless adapter to pair up with my Nikon D7100. I plan on using it in upcoming trips to Yellowstone and transfer images to an ipad. I haven't had the opportunity yet, but plan to do so this summer. I checked other websites and they were back ordered for 4 months for this item. Crutchfield had it in stock.
