Jazz up your sound system with Boston's A 25 bookshelf speaker. This little dynamo boasts clear, musical sound that'll add excitement to your movies and music. Use a pair in a stereo music system, or create a compact home theater system using a pair of A 25 speakers in both the front and rear of your room. Just add the A 225C center channel and either the ASW250 or ASW650 powered subwoofer to complete your system.

Advanced drivers deliver the Boston sound you love
The A 25 features Boston's 1" Kortec® soft dome tweeter for clear, crystalline highs. The advanced ceramic/glass fiber polymer woofer uses Boston's Deep Channel Design® to deliver more bass response per watt of amplifier power. The crossovers in all A Series speaker models incorporate low-loss capacitors and low-distortion cores for the inductors. It means you'll hear every note in your music with minimum distortion.

Thoughtful cabinet design
This speaker's cabinet design also features vertical and horizontal internal bracings to reduce unwanted resonance that can muddy the sound. Plus, as part of Boston's A Series of speakers, the A 25 features modern styling with a stunning high-gloss, scratch-resistant cabinet, a textured top panel for contrast, and a convenient magnetic grille.

Why choose bookshelf speakers?

Bookshelf speakers may be small in size, but they can deliver surprisingly big sound. Some ultra-compact models even fit on a desktop. Most are right at home in tight spaces like shelves, so they're usually good choices for your home theater's rear channels. For the best performance, try placing bookshelf speakers on solid speaker stands to help the sound really "open up." If you want full bass impact, add a powered subwoofer and enjoy punchy sound that's as deeply satisfying as that of floor-standing speakers.

Excellent upgrade to my front speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I am using these speakers as my front speakers . They deliver music effortlessly; very clear highs and lows. Though my Polk subwoofer helps in delivering the lows/bass very well.

Pros: A very solidly made shelf speaker. It delivers the cleanest high and lows of music tones. They really complimented my existing set of speakers. A very good upgrade.

Cons: none so far..

Exceptional Sound at a Reasonable Price

Don't let the price tag fool you! These speakers deliver wonderful sound that was a marked difference over my last set of Boston speakers. If you're looking for a best value on bookshelf speakers--this is it.

full, balanced sound.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I believe that a good stereo sound comes from the matching or the frequency responses of the speakers and amp. I combined the Boston A25 with the Yamaha S-A300 integrated amp, also from Crutchfield. The resulting sound was full and lively and well balanced. In short, a pleasure to experience.

Pros: well balanced, full, lively, more bass than I would expect from a speaker of its size.

Cons: have not found any

Great Speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I tried out Bose and smaller Klipsch speakers to replace my old Boston Acoustic book shelf speakers, but neither of them can touch these speakers. Great sound at a great price. The only reason I am not giving them a five star rating is that they aren't the top of the line models and can't meet the level of quality.

Attractive and effective.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Good value for money typical of Boston Acoustic. These replaced some very old Bostons, they sound far crisper and look much better. As you might expect, they don't have a lot of base, but a small Polk woofer has taken care of that very effectively. These are used in the den for casual listening -- nothing too serious and I'm very pleased with these speakers.

Pros: Decent sound for the money. Black gloss finish is modern and attractive. Build quality is excellent, construction is very solid.

Cons: None

Exceptional Value

With a decent pair of stands this is the best sounding set of small speakers I've heard in ages.

Pros: When placed 6"+ from the wall they sound like a much larger pair of speakers.

nice quality for the money

I added these speakers to my living room, small enough to be inconspicuous yet large enough to produce nice sound quality. I will probably by another set for my camp.

Great Speakers

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I bought these as Surround speakers and have a set of TEIL CS2.4 as the main pair. Running it on an Onkyo AV receiver. These are great I read a lot of reviews and lab tests before making my purchase. If you look at the frequency response of bench testing at audiophile websites for these speakers you will find that they are very acurate and not colored. (also have the A26 speakers as B speakers see my review there they are very similar but more base). By colored the speakers do not have any inherently brite or dull areas. The cabinets are also very ridgid and do not have any vibration or distortion from the tuned port as the Reference POLK RTiA3 rated well at Crutchfield by purchasers but not as accurate and smooth as this speaker. Boston acoustics has done an excellent job. If you want deep rich base you may need a subwoofer with these but less so with the A26"s. They have excelllent stereo imaging and and are crisp clear and pleaseing to listen to for hours. I swapped them out with my THIELS and was impressed how they compared. Not as full. rich and accurate but amazing for the price.

Pros: Excellent all round speaker if used with a subwoofer.

Cons: None.
