Tweeters: The DSi260 has a 3/4" soft dome tweeter. Inputs: The speaker is equipped with spring clips that will accept pin connectors or bare wire up to 14 gauge. IR Sensor Knockout: The speaker has a knockout molded into the speaker baffle that will accommodate a standard 1/2" diameter infrared sensor. The IR sensor range and operating angle will be reduced by the grille and cloth. IR will work best in on-axis to the face of the speaker. Paintable: Both the frame and grille can be painted to match the ceiling or wall. A paint shield is included to protect the speakers. Installation: After a 10" x 7-3/8" cutout is made (either vertically or horizontally), the speaker is installed in the hole and held in place by a rugged plastic screw-set bracket. The only tool required (after the hole is cut) is a #2 Phillips head screwdriver to tighten the clamps. The clamps spread up to 2-3/8", so they should cover almost any application (most drywall is 1/2" thick). The required depth to install this speaker is 2.883". New Construction Bracket: For new construction installations, the NCB6 bracket (item # 065NCB6) is needed. Note: There must be 1-1/2" clearance around the mounting hole on the short axis to accommodate the clamps. I put two pair in my bedroom and they sound better tham my theater speakers. Clean sound with bright tweeters and solid midbass. I use them just for music. Norm told me where to place them and told me a trick to get the best sound no matter where you are in the room. Great speakers and a better staff. When I first set up the system they were a bit overpowered it seemed; however, once I got the room acoustic levels dialed in with the receiver they are working very well. 4 out of 4 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
