Tuned for maximum bass

Here's the bass — Boston Acoustics' G112PD enclosed subwoofer puts the rumble in your sound system, matching a pair of G1 Series 12" subwoofers with a ported box that's optimized to deliver the most bass possible. The GTuned enclosure uses Boston's unique venting to increase bass output without adding the noise that inferior ports can cause. Boston Acoustics assembles and tunes the box in the U.S.A., and its 3/4" medium-density fiberboard construction offers extra strength and stability.

Get the most out of your mono amplifier

The enclosure handles up to 400 watts RMS total, and its 2-ohm total impedance draws maximum power from your mono sub amp. You'll get clean signal flow through the nickel-plated terminals, and heavy-duty carpeting protects the box and your car's interior. Place the G112PD in your trunk or cargo area, connect a compatible amp and wiring, and take your music to a deeper level.

Enclosed Subwoofers 101

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

Features

Overview: The Boston Acoustics GTuned G112PD subwoofer enclosure features two 12" G112-4 subwoofers. The woofers' 4-ohm voice coils are wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm load for optimum power output from Boston GT amplifiers. The cabinet is made of MDF (Medium-Density Fiberboard) with glued dado ends.

Woofer Design: The G1 subwoofer has a copolymer cone with a raised polypropylene dust cap and a large foam surround. It features a wrap-around gasket which gives you a superior seal. The basket features the patented RadialVent cooling technology which directs the airflow around the 2" voice coil to increase power handling.

Terminals: The terminal cup is inset into the enclosure for a tight seal and a finished look. The nickel-plated, heavy-duty spring post terminals accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, and bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Long Excursion: The woofers have a 1-3/4" peak-to-peak excursion for accurate deep bass output.

SureSet Protection: The input terminal is equipped with a 7.5-amp ATC fuse for voice coil protection under transient conditions such as accidental momentary overdrive. Use of the standard automotive style fuses allows you to quickly service the woofer in case a fuse is blown during use.

Note: The fuses do not protect against voice-coil failure resulting from long term high power abuse.

GTuned Port: Relying on a longstanding Boston technique, this GTuned enclosure features PowerVent tuning to deliver a perfect blend of extension, impact, and efficiency. The oversized port reduces turbulence and keeps your bass crisp, clear and deep, even under heavy use. The G112PD enclosure is tuned to 34 Hz.

Combined with a kenwood head unit, Kenwood Class D 1000W (500 rms @ 2 ohms) 2 kenwood 5 1/4 speakers in the front, 2 kenwood 6x9's in the rear and Boston Acoustics G112PD subs in the trunk equals "JUST WHAT I WAS LOOKING FOR" These subs are unbelievable. I couldn't believe how these subs put out such crystal clear sound. The ONLY downside for me is the size, they take up the whole trunk in my Dodge Shadow. But after getting these hooked up and hearing the sound quality ... the trunk no-longer mattered.

Pros: Price, Quality, Design, Acoustics, Etc ...

Cons: Kinda big ...

I love these subs. Put them in the trunk of my '97 VW Passat and they hit hard, so hard that my rear view mirror is useless. The carpet on the box is very sleek. I wish the port was on the front of the box because of the way it fits in my trunk.

Pros: Hits Hard Fits In trunk Looks Good Easy Connections

Cons: Port on Side

Good value

Very heavy, durable...great construction. Things hit hard paired to an Alpine 500 monoblock amp , 500@2 ohms. Rattles my ears and feels like I'm getting a massage from my seat but still crystal clear. I can't turn it up past 65% without my eardrums feeling like they are going to explode. Would buy again 10x over. I have it connected with 4 gauge wiring, and 12 gauge speaker wire. They are achieving full potential, don't skimp on wiring!

Pros: SPL while maintaining quality. Value

Cons: A bit large, but fit nicely in my hatchback, be sure to measure.

WOW!!! Awesome Bass!!

This setup is AWESOME!!! I've totally redone my car audio system all through Crutchfield and this was the finishing touch of an audio masterpiece! The dual 12" subs in this enclosure hit hard, clear, and way low. I'm running it with a Sound Ordnance M1500 mono amplifier pushin 500 watts RMS at 2ohms and it's everything I wanted to fill in the bottom end of my system and, paired with a pair of Kicker KS525 coaxial a in the front doors and Polk Audio db651s in the back doors, the full range in my 02 Isuzu Rodeo is the best in town and with this enclosure, the bass is kickin too! Very very very very very happy with it! Definitely recommend this to anyone looking for seriously good bass at a seriously good price!

Pros: HUGE BASS, Great Value, Easy hookup!

Cons: ABSOLUTELY NONE!!!

Huge!!!

Just put this beast in my 08 Malibu, upside down, because that's the only way it would fit, it's huge. I have this hooked up to a PPI 580.5 amp, CEA rated at 55x4 into 4 ohms + 270x1 into 2 ohms. I have Focal Access components in the front with matching coaxials in the rear, using the factory signal through an AudioControl LCi6 with the ACR-1 bass remote and this box filled the bottom end out way beyond my expectations. This is the first ported box I have heard that doesn't disappoint. It does not miss notes, from Rick Ross to Metallica, it can keep up. I would recommend some sort of bass control, I need to use it frequently to smooth out the lows. The engineers at Boston nailed it and for $160 at the Outlet it' was a steal, Crutchfield delivers again!

Pros: Powerful, clean extended bass.

Cons: It's very large, measure carefully. Had to rearrange my spare tire well, bend the wheel post, and scratched both sides of the box to get it in. On the bright side, even if they figure out that my car has a system, they probably aren't getting the box out.
