Want great bass and a great deal?

Here's the bass — Boston Acoustics' GTuned enclosed subwoofers put the punch in your sound system, pairing a G2 subwoofer with a sealed box that's optimized to deliver forceful bass. Here's the deal — while supplies last, you can get this potent sub/box combo for the same price as the subwoofer by itself.

The G212SS enclosure kicks out commanding low end with its 12" sub, handling up to 300 watts RMS. Boston Acoustics assembles and tunes the box in the U.S., so you can count on maximum bass response. And 3/4" medium-density fiberboard construction offers extra strength and stability.

The enclosure's 2-ohm total impedance draws maximum power from your mono sub amp. You'll get clean signal flow through the nickel-plated terminals, and heavy-duty carpeting protects the box and your car's interior. Place the G212SS in your trunk or cargo area, connect a compatible amp and wiring, and take your music to a deeper level.

Product Highlights:

Enclosed Subwoofers 101

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

Boston Acoustic Quality

Written by: Ominous Nefarious from Ruther Glen, VA on August 7, 2009

This replaced two Dual V/C Infinity 12's bought here at Crutchfield in a sealed dual chamber box powered by an original Orion XTR 2150 bridged 4 Ohm 300W/rms (my wife will brag that she expropriated the subs and amp but I gave them to her, my kind of lady ;). I wanted something smaller but I was worried I would loose my bass but I read the reviews and trusted in Boston Acoustics' Quality. The bass from this VERY little box is VERY impressive. Squeaky clean bass and it hits all the low notes just fine(I'm a D.J. spinnig all electronic fom hiphop to house, jungle, and breaks to give you an idea of the kind of bass I can review). I just ordered a Boston Acoustics GT2125 about a day ago and it's already here. I will hook it up this weekend and give a review of the amp then.
Thank you Crutchfield for your superior service, Fast shipping, and incredible prices on the sub and the amp!

great sub for the money

Written by: brandin from stephens city, va on July 23, 2009

I put this sub in my 2007 pt cruiser powered by a 500/1v2 JL amp and it
hits hard as 2 kenwood 12'' subs that I had in there before. I been thinking
of buying a second one but dont know if i really need it. If you are looking
for a great sub with a good price this is it.

Clean and Accurate!

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I have this sub hooked to a Fosgate Punch 300.1 and I must say it hits
hard and accurate, I may even buy a second! It has very accurate bass but
still thumps, on the plus side the box is well made and provides a very
tuned sub that produces excellent sound quality. Anyone still with some
hesitation on pulling the trigger on this sub should just go ahead and buy it.

Boston Acoustics G212SS

purchased this for my 09 civic sedan for clean clear bass, turns out this sub and enclosure delivered all i hoped it would. Size wise this setup took up minimal area. I matched this sub up with KAC 500wattRMS amp and hits pretty hard when i need it to. Its very clean on my rock/rnb songs and doesnt dissapoint. I would recommend this sub to anyone wanted a cleaner bass instead of just bumping the hardest

very impresive

I have been looking for a sub for quit a while and i decided with this i was not going to go with a single twelve i wanted the dual but i settled with this, but it really shocked me this sub has serious kick and hits hard and it produces clean and clear sound so to say the least i was blown away by how good this sub is so i would definantly recommend it expecially for the great deal it is at right now .

Boston Acoustics G212SS

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This sub sounds great. I power the sub with the rear channel of my Boston Acoustic GT-40 amp. Because of the dual voice coil I can power it easily with the rear channel on mono. These Boston subs are extremely efficient with a sensitivity near 93dB, so you don't need a super high power amp to power it. It's obviously a matter of preference if you like sealed or ported boxes, but if you're looking to reproduce music the way it was originally recorded I would choose a sub like this. I usually listen to rock and alternative music and it sounds fantastic. If I ever listen to rap or anything with extra bass I have to turn down the sub a bit, because it's pretty overpowering in my Nissan sedan. I would recommend this to anyone.

Overview: The Boston Acoustics GTuned G212SS subwoofer enclosure features a powerful 12" G212-44 subwoofer. The woofer's dual 4-ohm voice coils are wired in parallel to present a 2-ohm load for optimum power output from Boston GT amplifiers.

Woofer Design: The G2 subwoofer has a co-polymer cone with a raised polypropylene dust cap and a large foam surround. It features a wrap-around gasket which gives you a superior seal. The basket features the patented RadialVent cooling technology which directs the airflow around the 2-1/2" voice coil for increase power handling.

Enclosure: The enclosure is designed and tuned by the same Boston Acoustic engineers that designed the subwoofers. The cabinet is made of 3/4" MDF (medium-density fiberboard), all CNC (computer numerical control) cut with glued dadoed ends.

Terminals: The terminal cup is inset into the enclosure to deliver a tight seal and a finished look. The nickel-plated, heavy-duty spring post terminals accept pin connectors, single or dual banana plugs, and bare wire up to 10 gauge.

Long Excursion: The woofer has a 2-inch peak-to-peak excursion for accurate deep bass output from a small sealed enclosure.

SureSet Protection: The speaker terminal is equipped with two 5-amp ATC fuses for voice coil protection under transient conditions such as accidental momentary overdrive. Use of the standard automotive style fuses allows you to quickly service the woofer in case a fuse is blown during use.

Note: The fuses do not protect against voice-coil failure resulting from long term high power abuse.
