The Boston Acoustics RK8T2 gives you full, detailed sound in an enclosure designed for the great outdoors. And it has inputs for both left and right channels, so you can get stereo sound from just one speaker.
Engineered for great sound
The RK8T2's woofer features a stepped basket that brings it close to the grille for smooth, natural response, unlike the woofers in some other rock speakers. Its dual tweeters are angled upwards by 20 degrees, so you'll get crisp highs when you place the speaker at ground level. The angled tweeters also enhance dispersion to create good stereo separation. You'll enjoy exceptional sound on your patio, in your garden, or around your pool.

Overview: The Boston Acoustics Voyager RK8T2 is a two-way acoustic suspension loudspeaker with two tweeters, a single 8" woofer, and stereo input. The cabinet is styled to look like a rock and designed and built to withstand the environmental stresses placed on an outdoor loudspeaker. The speaker is "voiced" for outdoor use, they sound best in an open air environment. They also sonically match the other speakers in the Voyager series.

Driver Technology
Driver Placement: Both tweeters and the woofer are angled up 20°, aimed at the listener and not at the ground, to bring the sound up to ear level.
Woofer: The RK8T2 uses an 8" dual voice coil woofer with a mica-filled copolymer cone and butyl rubber surround. The dual voice coil accommodates a stereo input. The basket sets the driver forward to prevent any tunnel effect and maintain a natural midrange sound.
Tweeters: The RK8T2 uses two 1" soft dome tweeters for a stereo output from the single speaker.
Enclosure Design
Styling: The RK8T2's enclosure is styled to look like a rock and blend into your outdoor decor. This New England Granite model is light gray with jagged edges. The speaker grilles are designed to blend into the cabinet.
Finish: The cabinet construction has three layers; a fiber weave material sandwiched between two poly fiberglass resin layers. Each speaker is matched to actual rocks and hand finished in a multi step process. First a base color is applied, then multicolor accents are added to match actual rocks. A series of brush's are used to add shading to both the cabinet and the grille. As a result, each speaker will have variations in color and size.
Weatherproof: The cabinet, grilles, and drivers are weather and rust proof. They are also UV protected and will stand up to outdoor temperature extremes.
Connections
Speaker Cable Connection: The RK8T2 has a two-foot cable attached, rated for burial underground. Wire nuts filled with a waterproof sealant are also included.
Wiring Requirements: Direct burial cable is recommended, 14 gauge up to 50 feet and 12 gauge over 50 feet.
Power Rating: An amplifier rated between 20 and 200 watts is recommended to power the RK8T2.
Mounting Options
Transformer: There are internal mounting posts for an optional 70/100 volt transformer for use in commercial applications or when a long wire run is necessary. (transformer available from Boston Acoustics)
