The speakers that originally came in your car were made from inexpensive materials, designed to create acceptable sound at the lowest possible cost to the manufacturer. If you love music, you deserve better. Name-brand aftermarket speakers deliver fuller, richer sound with considerably more detail and nuance, and they're capable of playing louder and cleaner than factory speakers. Connect new speakers to your factory radio and you'll get the best possible sound from your dealer-equipped system. Pair them up with a new car stereo for a level of enjoyment that can rival a high-fidelity home audio experience. Boston Acoustic's S series speakers let you enjoy clear, natural sound, even with a low-powered system. And with a wide variety of sizes, you'll find a set for most commonly-sized speaker openings. The Boston S65RC 6-1/2" speaker features a 3/4" tweeter with a built-in cooling system for long term reliability and excellent power handling. A contoured tweeter plane guides high-frequency output to create a larger listening "sweet spot," while Boston's Amplitude Modification Device (AMD) reduces harshness in the upper mids for clear, detailed sound. The sturdy woofer cone teams up with a durable butyl rubber surround to produce tight, clean bass with minimal distortion. And you'll hear a smooth blend between the woofer and tweeter, thanks to the built-in crossover. Note: Boston describes this model as a 6" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-1/2" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-1/2" speaker. Yes | No 5 out of 5 Best factory replacement speaker for Dodge Ram Written By Glenn D., San Antonio, TX on Sunday, April 24, 2011 I had a hard time finding a replacement speaker for the factory model in my Ram without making major modifications. These were recommended by the Crutchfield team, and they work great. I read several comments regarding "breaking in" the speaker, which I had never heard of before. Every time I've replaced speakers in the past, what I heard initially was pretty much what I got. These were "different". The base response at first install was a little lacking compared to the factory models. I gave them a chance, and was glad I did. As they "broke in" (and yes... they did), my bass response got stronger and the sound was much better. Now, I'm completely happy with the sound, and enjoy them much more than the factory originals. I had blown-up the factory ones with a little too much bass, and they were bottoming out. These Boston Acoustics produce better sound without bottoming out like the factory speakers did. Well worth the money. If you are looking for a factory replacement speaker for a Dodge Ram, get these. Use them for about a week or so, and I'm sure you will be smiling like I am. I was very disappointed to have to take the car apart again to install the replacement 4th speaker. Unfortunately, even though they are "Reduced Clearance" and were specifically recommended by a Crutchfield advisor for my car, they simply did not fit with the supplied brackets. It ended up being a big pain, taking about 4 hours to fabricate my own solution. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? From the start sound was disappointing from all speakers. Some things sounded good, but others poor. Some frequencies sound good, but others make them sound tingy or vibrate considerably. Very narrow range. My JVC has many sound adjusting features and I've tried every possible combination. I'm no professional when it comes to sound, but these speakers just don't cut it in my opinion. Recently one of these sounds like it may be blown. For 5 years I dreamed about upgrading my system, now that this has happened I am still disappointed. Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Installed in a 2000 Honda Accord EX-L Sedan Written By Josh, San Antonio, TX on Wednesday, July 28, 2010 These are not a TRUE perfect fit for 6th gen Honda Accord sedans. You will have to modify the plastic factory speaker baffles. This was quite easy however. The speaker terminals get in the way of a plastic lip inside the baffle, all you have to do is saw or cut off this lip and the speaker is able to lay flush with the baffle. Also, the three screw holes are not quite even with each other, but I was able to make them work. Overall, the install went well. I purchased the Honda speaker harnesses too. These worked wonderful. I just clipped them to the factory speaker harness and didn't have to mess with stripped wires or crimping. These took some time to break in. They are indeed bass-shy. They have some punch to them but it is what you'd expect for a 6 inch speaker at this price range. The mids and highs are good. In reality, I'd give them 3.75 stars. These just happen to be the only "decent" speakers that are a "drop-in" fit for my car make and model. Looking back, I probably would have opted to do some more modifications to get a better speaker. But I'm not disappointed. These speakers fill my car with good sound. Five times better than the factory paper woofers I had. I have an Alpine HU connected to an Alpine 445 power pack amp giving these speakers 45w RMS each. Boston underrates their speakers and though they say 35w RMS is their max, I wouldn't be afraid of even putting 50w RMS into them. They can handle it just fine. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Written By Matt, Scarborough, ME on Saturday, May 08, 2010 I bought these speakers because I have had good experience with Boston's in the past, and these definitely didn't let me down. They sound great! They are being driven by a JVC KW-XR810 with 22 watts RMS and they are still VERY loud! I agree that they are Bass-shy, but here's why that doesn't bother me. The bass they do produce is flawless, and my doors can't handle more bass without rattling. I'll be adding a sub to my system soon to fill out the sound, but honestly, these do a pretty good job for 6.5" shallow mount speakers! These fill out the high end very well too. 1 out of 1 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
