About the Boston Acoustics SX65
The clear, well-balanced sound of Boston's SX speakers offers an excellent performance boost to almost any car audio system.
The SX65 6-3/4" speaker combines Boston's Type-S2 tweeter with a heavy duty copolymer woofer and a durable rubber surround. A contoured tweeter plane provides an extended stereo "sweet spot" for smooth, realistic high-frequency response — no matter where you're sitting.
A built-in crossover sculpts the frequencies going to the woofer and tweeter for smooth blending of the highs and mids, and protects the tweeter against power overload. Compact, lightweight neodymium magnets reduce the size of these speakers so they can fit in more vehicles without sacrificing performance.
Note: Boston describes this model as a 6-1/2" speaker. Most manufacturers designate this same frame size as a 6-3/4" speaker. For simplicity's sake we list it as a 6-3/4" speaker.

Features
Tweeter: Each speaker uses a type-S2, 3/4" Kortec dome tweeter. Kortec is a silky fabric saturated on the underside with a proprietary stiffening agent. Because the inside surface of the dome is ultra stiff, the tweeter tracks the signal with ease and produces an excellent transient attack. Simultaneously, the soft, self-dampening top layer eliminates unwanted resonance, so the sound is smooth and articulate. The contoured tweeter plane delivers smooth extension and strong on-axis and off-axis response.
Woofer: The copolymer woofer cone has a durable butyl rubber surround and stands up to the harsh automotive environment.
Crossover: All SX speakers feature specifically tuned crossovers to deliver the best blend between the tweeter and woofer. Each also features tweeter protection for optimal performance and reliability.
Voice Coil: The oversized 1-1/2" voice coil increases overall power handling and reliability.
Installation: The compact size of the magnet allows SX series speakers to fit where other high quality speakers don't. Neodymium magnets offer extraordinary power-to-weight ratio, approximately ten times the magnetic strength of a conventional iron-ferrite magnet of equal size. The SX65 will fit in 6-3/4" applications when the supplied bracket is used. The SX65 will also fit 6-1/2" speaker applications, but drilling new screw holes will be necessary.

I had trouble trying to mount these in my factory door positions at first. Then I decided to remove the factory speakers from their mounting brackets & used silicone to bond the included Boston mounts. Worked sweet & sounds great.
