Don't have room for a subwoofer? Don't worry. The TVee 10 can deliver plenty of rich bass without it thanks to Boston's BassTrac circuitry. So this dual-speaker bar is clean, compact and disappears in your room, either resting on your TV stand or mounted on the wall. Sit back and actually hear what you're seeing on TV without having to constantly ride your TV's volume. You can even control the TVee 10 with your regular TV or cable remote, making this sound bar incredibly easy to set up and use.

Features

Overview: The TVee 10 soundbar from Boston Acoustics dramatically improves the audio of your TV without a separate subwoofer. Designed to sit above or below your TV, the soundbar features the Boston's Digitally Optimized Virtual Surround (DOVS) technology for rich, immersive sound and BassTrac circuitry for clean bass at all listening levels. This simple, one-piece soundbar system brings powerful, quality, and dynamic audio to TV, movies, games, and music. The TVee 10 is self-amplified and connects directly to your TV with one simple wire. The TVee 10 can even be operated with your TV's remote control.

50W (Peak) Amplifier: The Boston Acoustics TVee 10 soundbar is self-amplified and equipped with a built-in 50-watt (peak) amplifier.

Dual HHRT Drivers: The TVee 10 soundbar uses Boston's low-distortion, wide-bandwidth HHRT (Hyperbolic High Rigidity Transducer) driver technology. The Boston Acoustics TVee 10 soundbar is equipped with dual 2" x 5" HHRT (Hyperbolic High-Rigidity Transducer) drivers inside a bass-reflex enclosure made of ABS plastic.

Digital Optimized Virtual Surround Sound (DOVS): Digitally Optimized Virtual Surround (DOVS) technology from Boston Acoustics uses sophisticated digital processing to create a fully immersive, cinema-quality sound experience; whether you are listening to music, watching a movie, or playing a game. The soundbar's exclusive Boston DSP control switch maximizes performance for both movies and music.

  • Movie Mode: In the Movie Mode, Boston's Digitally Optimized Virtual Surround delivers clear movie dialogue and music along with cinematic surround audio effects.
  • Music Mode: The Music Mode provides enhanced digital stereo music reproduction.

BassTrac Circuitry: Boston's BassTrac circuitry delivers rich bass without distortion and without having to use a separate subwoofer.

One Wire TV Connection: The TVee 10 soundbar speaker connects to your television with either a single stereo minijack cable or optical digital cable (also requires AC power). You can get this signal from your TV's audio output, or from your satellite/cable box.

  • Analog Stereo: The soundbar speaker features two rear-panel analog stereo minijack (3.5mm) inputs to connect your TV or sat/cable box, and even a portable audio player.
  • Digital Optical: The soundbar speaker also features a rear-panel optical digital input for Dolby Digital or PCM decoding from your connected TV or sat/cable box.
Note: The soundbar's trim-level switch changes the input sensitivity (1-3) of the TVee 10 to match the output level of your TV or satellite/cable box.

Simple Controls: The soundbar speaker is equipped with touch-sensitive controls and comes with an IR remote control. You can also program your television's or satellite/cable box's remote control to operate the soundbar's volume.

Mounting Options: The soundbar can be placed above or below your flat-panel TV. It should be centered with your television. There are two large keyhole slots (22.625" apart) to facilitate mounting it on a wall (mounting template supplied).

Power Requirements: The soundbar speaker operates off of standard household current using the supplied AC power adapter.

  • Input: 100-240V~ 50/60Hz, 1.0A (max)
  • Output: 18.0V - 2.0A

Q
Is there any way to reduce the bass during regular TV news and commentary? It is a very annoying intermittent booming noise, but otherwise better than the Samsung TV speakers. Bruce in Green Valley, AZ

A
Maybe. I use it in my camper so it's close quarters and that hasn't bothered me.....I am thrilled with the sound quality.

If there is, I haven't found it . I have noticed that when watching a show I have to turn up the volume to hear what the actors are saying and then I get blasted when the action music begins. As you said, it's better than the TV speakers, but still not correct.

Bruce, I sent the sound bar back! I didn't like the sound output. I recently had some AV work done at my house. I went with an Onkyo LS-B50 sound bar and sub woofer. This was purchased by my installer. Hope this helps. Chris

Is the remote provided by Boston Acoustics TVee Model 10 compatible with Dish TV? (A customer wrote that it didn't work with Direct TV). Thanks, Tony

Tony, yes, I just installed TVee 10 on my 46" Samsung TV and it is compatible with Dish remote. Bruce

Liked the Boston Tvee10, but I found the Jbl200, the highs are much clearer, and the bass from Jbl200 has incredible bass response, it has better bass response than most units with separate powered subwoofer which are large and bulky. The JBL has two amplified subwoofers built into the wall sound bar that rocks even the biggest of rooms with a simple one optic wire connection to your TV set, and you are set for years of fun that sound so much better than most home theater systems that cost hundreds more & arebulky and take up lots of space for subwoofer and rear speakers. JBL S200 mounts on wall below tv with two simple screws and rubber bumper pads so it mounts easily with the 2 screws and the bumper pads simply peel off the backing on the pads, then stick them to rear of sound bar , slide it on the 2 screws and you are done,

I don't have Dish TV but my cable remote was very easy to program so it controls the volume . In other words one remote does it all - box, tv, sound bar.

Tony, I use it in my camper so haven't tried Dish. I bought it because if fit in the available space and was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds.

I have this hooked up to a tv that is on TWC cable. Once I set it up on the tv I no longer use the BA remote. It all works through the cable remote.
