Flat-panel TVs continue to deliver bigger, clearer pictures while getting slimmer and slimmer. But as picture quality improves, sound quality has been neglected. Fortunately, there's an easy way to upgrade your TV's sound without investing in separate receivers, speakers and subwoofers. The Boston Acoustics TVee Model 10 is a one-box solution to get sound as full and clear as your HDTV's picture. Just plug this slim sound bar into an outlet, connect it to your TV with the included optical digital or analog miniplug cable, and you've got instant home theater sound that will make movies and shows come alive with clear dialogue and dynamic sound effects.
Don't have room for a subwoofer? Don't worry. The TVee 10 can deliver plenty of rich bass without it thanks to Boston's BassTrac circuitry. So this dual-speaker bar is clean, compact and disappears in your room, either resting on your TV stand or mounted on the wall. Sit back and actually hear what you're seeing on TV without having to constantly ride your TV's volume. You can even control the TVee 10 with your regular TV or cable remote, making this sound bar incredibly easy to set up and use.
Add big sound to your TV without a roomful of speakers. Sound bars require minimal space and wiring, and their sleek designs complement today's flat-panel TVs. Most sound bars have their own built-in amplification, so you won't need to use a home theater receiver. Some models use advanced surround processing and carefully aimed speaker drivers to simulate the effects of a full home theater audio system.
I've been very happy with this soundbar. I have it connected to my outdoor TV, which is mounted on my covered back deck. It sat outside all winter long, exposed to the cold temperatures of winter, snow and rain. It is not rated for outdoor use, but it was worked perfectly for me on my outdoor TV.
Pros: Inexpensive and works very well outside.
Great upgrade for your tv audio, The Perfect sound bar
Pros: Easy of use
It changes inputs randomly! Boston acoustics support was useless! I wouldn't recommend it to my worst enemy, seriously it's not worth the money.
Pros: Easy to set up
Cons: Changes inputs at random which you better have the remote close by to change it back real fast to the input you were listening to. Very annoying!
Needed to order new TV with Audio Output
Cons: Not easy to set up
I like the compact size and the Boston Acoustics quality
Pros: Easy to install. Radically improves my TV's sound
Works well, great sound. Didn't know it would do auto power on / off. Used digital connection
Pros: Plug and go
While this will never replace a Home Theater it is superior to the internal speakers found on flat panel TVs. I did find the bass extension as sounding artificial and surprising at times, but that would be resolved by spending more money and getting one with a sub-woofer. All in all a decent product.
Pros: quick and easy setup, enhances TV viewing
Cons: Bass enhancement boomy
put it on the tv on my patio. much better sound quality and I can understand it at moderate volume.
Pros: easy install
Great unit for the price. I was amazed at the sound stage it projects.
Pros: real crisp clarity
Cons: Little lacking on the low end but only at low volume
This sound bar works great, was east to install, and has been problem free.
Cons: Programming the remote is tedious, and had to be reprogrammed. The bass is distracting at times.
Nice, small, versatile size and easy to install for a novice like me. Also, easy to program to TV remote control.
Pros: Good sound improvement over TV speakers for general listening and music.
Cons: A little too much base booming in occasionally during TV news and commentary.
This is a great entry level sound bar. Very easy to install. Is making my flat screen sound A LOT better.
Pros: Sounds great, easy to install
Sound Bar greatly improves sound quality and volume
Pros: Does not take up too much space. Improves sound quality. The sound bar sends the sound towards you as opposed to behind the TV. Very good sound considering the size of the unit. Easy hookup.
Cons: Cannot match the quality of dedicated and separated speakers.
I love the size and concept but the first unit I received appears to have a defective front panel and the panel buttons do not respond to program my television remote. Called Boston Acoustics first for help and they told me to unplug the unit for 2 days! Not much help at all. Thank goodness for the great customer service from Casey in Crutchfield Tech Support who promptly took care of me and a replacement is on the way.
Pros: Size, simple design. Great for small room set ups where a sub is not really needed.
Cons: Defective first unit. Poor customer service from Boston Acoustics.
Cured inferior audio from tv set
Great sound neat looking perfect size for a 40" tv
Pros: Easy install and programming of buttons to tv remote
Good sound and no problems. It can be programed to work off of the DISH removte although a message appears for a couple of minutes that says you have to used the sound bar remote. Hook up and programming was easy.
This sound bar sounded very good and clear. It is exactly what I wanted as far as sound quality. However, if you use Direct TV, the Boston Acoustics brand is not programmable to its remote control. If this is important to you, consider a brand that is on the remote control programming list which is just about every other brand in existence.
Pros: Small footprint, good clean full range sound, easy install
Cons: Not programmable to your DirecTV remote control.
Simple to set up (once you figure out if your TV allows audio optical out if you have HMDI audio in; not in my case) and configure so that your remote works the sound bar. Pretty good sound from a small setup. If you just want to enhance the sound from your TV at a low price, this it probably it.
Pros: Looks good, basic capability, good price. Controls are dim and go off totally after a few seconds; no irriatating LED or similar.
Cons: If it senses an input signal, it comes on. Useful to go off when you turn off your TV, but I wish you could really turn it off if you didn't want the soundbar. Bass isn't great; to be expected without a woofer capabilty.
music is much louder than rest of program
Pros: easy to set up
Cons: needs fastner
We are completely satisfied with the sound bar. The improvement in sound quality over that produced by the 42 inch four-year-old LG TV set to which it is attached is remarkable. Hookup is easy. The most difficult aspect was opening the battery compartment on the remote. (Hint: there is a latch on the left side of the compartment cover, which must be moved to the left.) We find that the Music Mode (non-surround sound) gives us the sound most to our liking for TV programs. Also, we advise experimenting with sound volume. We have muted the TV set sound as suggested.
Pros: Reasonable price Compact size, especially the length No need for a separate bass speaker
This is a wonderful upgrade to my flat screen TV. We recently moved in to a new house and bought a new TV. I wasn't sure if was the acoustics in the new house or my ears, all I knew was something wasn't right. The installation was a breeze - even for a non tech guy like me. And what a difference! We enjoy our new TV much more with the improved sound .
Pros: Clear clean sound. Easy hook up. Easy to program the remote .

Maybe. I use it in my camper so it's close quarters and that hasn't bothered me.....I am thrilled with the sound quality. [ JIM May 08, 2014 ]
If there is, I haven't found it . I have noticed that when watching a show I have to turn up the volume to hear what the actors are saying and then I get blasted when the action music begins. As you said, it's better than the TV speakers, but still not correct. [ KEN May 06, 2014 ]
Bruce, I sent the sound bar back! I didn't like the sound output. I recently had some AV work done at my house. I went with an Onkyo LS-B50 sound bar and sub woofer. This was purchased by my installer. Hope this helps. Chris [ CHRIS May 03, 2014 ]
Tony, yes, I just installed TVee 10 on my 46" Samsung TV and it is compatible with Dish remote. Bruce [ Bruce May 04, 2014 ]
I do not have DishTV [ JOHN Dec 10, 2013 ]
Liked the Boston Tvee10, but I found the Jbl200, the highs are much clearer, and the bass from Jbl200 has incredible bass response, it has better bass response than most units with separate powered subwoofer which are large and bulky. The JBL has two amplified subwoofers built into the wall sound bar that rocks even the biggest of rooms with a simple one optic wire connection to your TV set, and you are set for years of fun that sound so much better than most home theater systems that cost hundreds more & arebulky and take up lots of space for subwoofer and rear speakers. JBL S200 mounts on wall below tv with two simple screws and rubber bumper pads so it mounts easily with the 2 screws and the bumper pads simply peel off the backing on the pads, then stick them to rear of sound bar , slide it on the 2 screws and you are done, [ STEPHEN Dec 09, 2013 ]
I don't have Dish TV but my cable remote was very easy to program so it controls the volume . In other words one remote does it all - box, tv, sound bar. [ KEN Dec 09, 2013 ]
Tony, I use it in my camper so haven't tried Dish. I bought it because if fit in the available space and was pleasantly surprised at how good it sounds. [ JIM Dec 09, 2013 ]
I have this hooked up to a tv that is on TWC cable. Once I set it up on the tv I no longer use the BA remote. It all works through the cable remote. [ WILLIAM Dec 08, 2013 ]
This soundbar does not have the ability to connect to a wireless subwoofer. [ Jeff Dec 09, 2013 ] Staff
