Are you having trouble finding a place to mount an external antenna on your classic car? Retrosound has your solution. The WPA1 amplified window antenna attaches to your car's window, and it's equipped with separate amplifiers that maximize AM and FM reception. Just attach the antenna to your window with the included adhesive pads, then attach the provided 12-volt wire to a power source, and you're in business. The built-in red LED lights up to tell you that the antenna is on. Warranty: 1 year.

Features

Design: The WPA1 is a window mount amplified antenna that can be used in applications where a conventional telescoping or fixed mast antenna is not desired. To improve reception, it's designed with separate amplifiers for the AM and FM bands. There are self-adhesive pads on the back of the antenna to mount it to the interior of a window in your vehicle. The antenna requires a +12 volt DC power source and should be grounded to reduce any potential noise. A red LED confirms that the antenna is on.

ANTENNA WORKS GREAT

Written By GERALDP, LAKEWOOD, WA on Tuesday, July 10, 2012

Works great. At first thought it wasn't working, but my antenna hookup connector had extra long protective shield keeping wire from making proper connection. You don't want the antenna connected to a hot source at all times, it needs to be hooked up to a switched source, preferrably with a fuse and the ground goes to ground of course. I hooked it up to my 1985 Yamaha Venture motorcycle and put the antenna inside the fairing. It picks up AM and FM channels fine. If I knew it was completely waterproof I might have considered attaching to the windshield just above the console hood so I could confirm it had power when it was supposed to by the little LED lite.

No instructions

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I like the concept of this antenna. I have a 1979 Jeep CJ5 and this will work great. The only complaint I have is that there are no instructions with this. I understand the ground the wire but is the power wire supposed to be hooked up to a keyed source or constant 12 volts?

Pros: small, easy to mount

Cons: no instructions for power wire
