Enclosed Subwoofers 101

An enclosed subwoofer is a box with a subwoofer already installed. The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance.

I would say that this unit is exceptional for the money I have a 95 Ford Mustang GT the unit is secure in the trunk pumped hard I don't know much about music equipment I just know that hip hop sounds awesome with this unit it looks cool too but it it's not overwhelming there are more powerful units but for the money and for what it does it's virtually been perfect for my application I have a 1200 watt amp hidden away under the seat that powers this unit it works absolutely perfect I have had absolutely no problems with it and I would recommend it to anyone

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

The Dual BP's sound good. Nice hit to them and the blue neon looks great. I
have them in a 05 Ford Expl and easy to install to my 1000 watt amp.

very nice

Written By tball, texas on Tuesday, November 09, 2010

I just put these in myself and i must say they are very nice. I have them in a 2002 suburban
with a 1000watt bazooka amp. They hit hard enough for people to notice and to shake the
car. Well worth the money. I haven't hooked the lights up yet but once i do it'll look LAGIT. I
would definitely recommend these to someone who is just starting with some subs.

Had these in a Honda PAssport, with a 1000watt Kenwood amp. These are amazing, hit very hard for there price. Maybe going to buy more for my Monte Carlo

Great Subs, Great Price

Written By Bobby, NC on Saturday, March 20, 2010

Definitely worth the money. I have mine running off a 1200 watt amp and I can bounce water bottles off the roof of my jeep. I also hooked the lights up to a street glow lighting interface and they can either be on or flash with the music. I reccomned these all the way!

awsome bang for buck

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I just about have one month with these exact same subs. Mine actually go with the beat of the bass, i bought an amp that will allow it and i must say they are absolutely very good beginner subs i have a 580 watt amp and its definately good enough to make my truck rattle. So i recomend this subwoofers. Real good price for them too

They Blew Out

Written By Anonymous, Craig, Alaska on Friday, November 06, 2009

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

I had these subs for 2 months. A couple of days ago the left sub blows out and fills my truck
with smoke. The right one still worked for about 2 days and then blew out just like the other
sub. So, these subs are not that great and I guess cannot take very much power.

These are awesome

Ok, well I love my new subs. They hit hard enough to satisfy me, but aren't insanly too much that Im getting the cops called on me. These subs make a great addition to any vehicle and I highly recommend this product and this website. Shipped in 5 days and I installed them myself. The lights make a great addition to the already existing lights I have already installed.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

This is a great addition for anybody looking for solid bass and an extra light feature. The lights are pretty cool. Too bad you can't hook them to your amp to light up everytime the bass hits.

Undecided about the duals.

Written By xjjjustinx, Carson, NV on Sunday, March 22, 2009

These are good; but they are not great. If you want something that dumps hard. these aren't for you. Realistically the only cool thing is they light up! I have them in my Jeep Cherokee Chief. They dump hard, and rattle the heck out of my jeep, but they don't pick up the lows very, if at all. When they are up all the way, they're not to clean. Although for me though I listen to rock, and I'm happy with them, plus everyone thinks they're tight cause they light up. For the money it's worth it, and eventually I'm going to swap out the actual duals and mount some better subs in the same box. Go for it if you're on a budget.

Got Em

Written By B. Diggity, Dallas, Tx on Tuesday, March 17, 2009

Out here sound is the way of life. I had these in my car for a while, they are decent for low budget. But save up and get some better ones. they bottom out real easy, and even with powerful amp, seem lacking. Had a whole Pioneer system, excluding these, but they did rattle the trunk pretty hard. when you find the range they hit, heh its good, but when they fall outa the power range, its very very weak.
Overall Decent for starters.

2nd time buyer

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Matched this with MA Audio M1900XE 500 watts RMS at 2 or 4 ohms, hits hard and sounds great. I think the sound quality comes out with this amp cuz i had a dual amp on my other and didnt sound as good. also the 1000w dual amp pulls almost twice as many amps. Only down side is it fades out on the mega lows(15-20hz).

good for the price

Written By Grey, Windsor, CA on Friday, February 20, 2009

it was a really good price. for what you get it really is not bad. a had it running off a 600 watt amp and they did hit really hard and it sounded pretty good. the sound quality is nothing like higher end brands such as my MTX's but the Duals are ok. the illuminte is cool especially at night. overall for the price of getting 2 12 subs and a box pretty good.

Solid MDF Construction: The enclosure is constructed of MDF (medium-density fiberboard), which resists flexing and has anti-resonant qualities.

Illuminite Blue Lighting: The enclosure has blue lighting built into the speaker grilles and mirrored surfaces inside the box to reflect the light. A 12 volt terminal to power the lights is on the back of the enclosure. The lighting elements are not replaceable.

Molded Plexiglas Window: The enclosure has a molded Plexiglas front window and top-panel that allow you to see the woofers and the blue lighting.

Heavy-duty Carpeting: The enclosure is finished with heavy-duty carpeting for superior durability.

Speaker Terminal: A single pair of spring terminals on the back of the enclosure supplies the signal to both drivers. The woofers are wired to present a 4Ω load. The terminal will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 12 gauge.

Installation Note: There are screw terminals on the back panel of the enclosure to supply 12-volt power and ground for the lighting. Below the terminals is an on/off switch.

Power Handling Note: The enclosure (total for both woofers) can handle up to 600 watts RMS; 1100 watts peak.

Impedance: The two woofers are wired together and present a 4Ω load at the single terminal cup.
