The advantage to buying an enclosed sub is that the manufacturer made the sub, then designed and built the box as a perfect match, so you'll get the best possible performance. Every enclosed sub has a maximum RMS power handling rating, so pair it with an amp with a similar RMS power rating to get the best performance. Dual's BP1204 bandpass subwoofer enclosure does more than just pump out great bass its Illuminite lighting system provides a cool blue glow that makes your vehicle look as great as it sounds. The enclosure features a 12-volt input for powering the Illuminite system, plus an on/off toggle switch so you can control the action. Built-in protection circuitry keeps your system safe as you cruise. Dual's hard-hitting 12" subs feature polypropylene cones with brushed chrome finish, plus stamped steel baskets and foam surrounds for stability and control. This efficient enclosure also features a pair of 12" polypropylene drivers, plexiglas viewing windows, mirrored chambers, and a carpet covering. Heavy-duty Carpeting: The enclosure is finished with heavy-duty carpeting for superior durability. Speaker Terminal: A single pair of spring terminals on the back of the enclosure supplies the signal to both drivers. The woofers are wired to present a 4Ω load. The terminal will accept pin connectors, single banana plugs, or bare wire up to 12 gauge. Notes Installation Note: There are screw terminals on the back panel of the enclosure to supply 12-volt power and ground for the lighting. Below the terminals is an on/off switch. Power Handling Note: The enclosure (total for both woofers) can handle up to 600 watts RMS; 1100 watts peak. Impedance: The two woofers are wired together and present a 4Ω load at the single terminal cup. The right one still worked for about 2 days and then blew out just like the other sub. So, these subs are not that great and I guess cannot take very much power. 10 out of 45 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? The lights are pretty cool. Too bad you can't hook them to your amp to light up everytime the bass hits. 8 out of 9 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Yes | No 4 out of 5 Undecided about the duals. Written By xjjjustinx, Carson, NV on Sunday, March 22, 2009 These are good; but they are not great. If you want something that dumps hard. these aren't for you. Realistically the only cool thing is they light up! I have them in my Jeep Cherokee Chief. They dump hard, and rattle the heck out of my jeep, but they don't pick up the lows very, if at all. When they are up all the way, they're not to clean. Although for me though I listen to rock, and I'm happy with them, plus everyone thinks they're tight cause they light up. For the money it's worth it, and eventually I'm going to swap out the actual duals and mount some better subs in the same box. Go for it if you're on a budget. 19 out of 20 people found this helpful Was this review helpful?
