Q
Will this work with Alpine ics-x7hd?

A
The Dual DMH25 Wi-Fi dongle is designed to work with aftermarket video receivers that feature HDMI and USB inputs--unfortunately the Alpine ICS-X7HD does not have the HDMI input needed to work with the Dual dongle. I bought a new phone with android 7 after installing this dongle. I can Bluetooth music and calls, and get verbal instructions from the waze app for directions but I have never been able to get my phones display to show on the head unit with the added a 2din unit. Maybe you can teach me something:)

I will like to know if is compatible with my car radio, it has no navigation but it has blue tooth and u s b.?

The first thing to do is look at the specs for your radio. I bought the Axxera unit, and it specifies 'dual mirror'. If it doesn't specify, then the functionality of this dongle may not be as full as you would wish.

Q
I saw in a review that the image cast from the phone to the receiver is the same size as on the phone. Is this the norm with this dongle, or just an issue with that individual's setup? I'd like to have my phone's screen (like when running Waze or another GPS/map app) display on the receiver's bigger screen. Seems like a waste if it's the same size... I've got a Samsung Galaxy S7 and am considering the Axxera AV6337MB. Thanks

Not sure if this is what you're referring to but when your phone is mounted vertically the on dash screen had bars on the side. When I rotated the phone horizontally, it filled the screen. That being said I've had problems with my Axxera and the sound dropping out and the audio not syncing with movies (Netflix). Unfortunately Crutchfield blew off my issues claiming it was the speakers even though the professional install shop checked it out and it wasn't. I called several times and Crutchfield basically said, "oh well". To Axxera's credit they replaced the unit and alas, no audio drop outs, other unit was defective (after the fact i found other reviews with same issue). The dongle and unit always seemed to have a hard time connecting. Ive since removed the dongle becauze it would mess up between phone, WiFi, hands free,.etc. I would spend a little more and get a better head unit and set up. So short long, phone rotated length wise will fill reciever picture full screen. Axxera had great customer service but I don't care for the units video, audio is awesome. Crutchfield who I've used for several items was a huge disappointment with my Axxera experience. Hope it helps.

I have that exact wifi Dongle with my Axxera car receiver and it works perfectly with my Samsung S7. It fills the screen entirely. Every app I use fills the screen. Watch ESPN, Google Maps, Netflix, etc.

i had the same problem. first make sure the Dongle will work with your cell. but all I did was hit reset button on Dongle and it worked. never had any problem after that

I have the Pixel XL and have the exact same problem. I'm guessing it's an issue with Android 7.1 or the dmh25 needs a firmware update. I haven't tried updating the firmware yet or if there is even a way to update it.

If you can hard wire it and it works then a dongle will work. As long as the radio is capable of mirroring your phone.
