11-pin cable for select Android smartphones

Dual's SL115A 5-foot cable connects your Android phone to select receivers equipped with rear-panel HDMI and USB inputs. The cable's HDMI and USB connections plug into your receiver's rear inputs, while the 11-pin connector plugs into your Android. The USB connection charges your smartphone, while the HDMI connection displays your smartphone's screen on the receiver's display. Warranty: 60 days.

Compatibility note:  The rear-panel HDMI and USB inputs on the receiver cannot be more than 3" apart due to the design of the cable.

i bought this cable because it had the samsung adapter included. I had to shave the hdmi plug to fit into the kenwood 692 housing which was not much trouble. Other than that the cable worked good.

Second One Worked

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

First cable I received was DOA, however there is really no way of knowing this with all the compatibility caveats. I contacted Crutchfield support and as always they were very helpful. Rep said there is no reason my Samsung S4 should not work, so he said he would send another cable as a control to test. The second cable worked like a charm. Using with my S4 and a 55" Aquos. Beautiful 1080p output and my phone will send surround sound through the HDMI so with my home theater fired up my phone is as viable an input as any I have. Sweet! Kudos to the Crutchfield Support Team.

Pros: Great picture and sound

Cons: The first one didn't work so if there are problems don't give up on Crutchfield, they will take care of business.

Works Like it Should

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Installed it in a 2006 Jeep Commander with the Axxera AV714BH stereo. As I was installing the stereo this cable wasn't working. I went to bed and figured I would try things the next day. Still wasn't working the next day. I tried on a Samsung Galaxy Note 4. Nothing. So I decided to try my wife's Samsung Galaxy S 5. That seemed to work. Then I tried my phone again the Note 4. It started working. Since then every time I try it, it works exactly like it should. Not sure what happened. Only reason why I'm not giving 5 stars is because there was no useful literature to be found on this cable. I know it's just a cable but problem solutions and maybe compatability charts would be nice instead of guessing when you purchase the cable and crossing your fingers hoping it works.

Pros: Works great. Don't have to touch anything once you plug it in. Sturdy. Long.

Cons: No useful instructions. Little pricey for a cable.

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

Cord is overly big for the case I have on my Galaxy s4. I had to shave it down. besides that it does what it says.

Pros: Helps doing mirroring

Cons: micro cord is too big to fit in cased phones.

Nice cable construction

Pros: Perfect length

Cons: Like the apple cable, this cable will not charge your phone

Works fine, cheap build quality

Written by: Luke from Boston, MA on July 24, 2014

Crutchfield Customer Review (What's this?)

It does what its supposed to do. Transmits audio and video from a smartphone to a compatible receiver. But the build quality seems cheap. I purchased it for a clarion nav but exchanged the clarion for a JVC so I'm purchasing a JVC specific cord for the same price as this cord but with clearly better build quality.

Pros: Works fine

Cons: Cheap. Thin wire. Expensive for the quality.

Features

Micro-USB 11-Pin to HDMI/USB Cable: The Dual SL115A is a micro-USB 11-pin to HDMI/USB cable which allows you to connect your MHL-enabled Android smartphone device with a 11-pin microUSB port (such as the Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Galaxy Note II/III/IV) to your home and car audio/video components equipped with an HDMI input and USB type-A port. Through its full-size HDMI connector, the SL115A cable supports 1080p video and 2ch audio. The SL115A will also charge your MHL-enabled Android smartphone via its USB type-A connector. Because the USB connector pig-tails from the HDMI connector, your home or car audio component's HDMI and USB input must be less than 3" apart. The total length of the cable is 5'.

Customer Q&A

5 questions already asked

They do not list the "Droid Mini" specifically, no. This cable is made for MHL-enabled Android smartphone devices with a 11-pin microUSB port (such as the Galaxy S3/S4/S5 or Galaxy Note II/III/IV). You will find this information by clicking the "Details" tab on the cable's main webpage. I hope that helps! Im sure this cable will work, but I would not recommend it. Look elsewhere and try to find a better quality wire if you must have the mirroring. I have this cable for my Kenwood Samsung setup and as cool as I thought the mirror would be I must say I rarely to never use it. Also by no means does it charge your phone fast. I run Spotify and it doesn't have enough output to charge while playing, the battery actually loses power while playing and "charging" with this cable. Unless u have something u really need to mirror I wouldn't recommend it. Your better off going with a normal phone charger out of the back of your unit to charge and an aux cable for music etc. [ Andrew  Aug 21, 2015 ]
Yeah that should work. Its a normal phone charger port. And the 2 other ends go to the radio [ Marcus  Aug 21, 2015 ]
Yes. I'm using it with an S5 on my system [ Theodore  Aug 11, 2015 ]
It worked fine for my Galaxy S4. I would think that would hold true for the s5. [ Marc  Aug 11, 2015 ]
YEs it works great with my s5 [ Joseph  Aug 11, 2015 ]
IT fits and charges the S5, but I couldn't get the video to share right, but I think my issue is the headunit, the cable is good. [ Michael  Aug 11, 2015 ]
It worked with my Samsung Galaxy 4 really well, but then I upgraded to a Galaxy 6 and discovered that Samsung no longer supports the video option. I've heard that this change is new to model 6, so it might work with the Galaxy 5. [ KENNETH L  Aug 11, 2015 ]
Yes it does. [ ZACHARY C  Aug 11, 2015 ]
As I was trying to research the problem trying to get it to work on my Samsung Galaxy Note 4 I found that there are a few big box stores local that carry a lot of these "type" of cables too. They seem to be pricy but when I called my local big box store they said if it didn't work I could always bring it back as long as I didn't break the product. It could take some of the guess work out of it. I eventually got it to work with my phone connecting it to the Axxera AV714BH stereo. And I am not trying by any means to take away business from Cruchfield. But their options are limited and sometimes it's nice to have a local place for these type of things. Be prepared though... it's probably not going to be cheap. Rocketfish is more than likely the maker of what you are looking for. [ John  Mar 20, 2015 ]
I forwarded your question to an Advisor and they responded with the following: Based on the information I could find the Nexus 4 doesn't support MHL but instead uses Slim Port. I recommend looking for a Slim Port adapter which I'm afraid we do not offer. If you would like to discuss further you can contact an Advisor directly by phone (1-800-324-9695) or online chat. Not sure. I use purchased for Samsung S3 to connect to Kenwood radio and doesn't work great. May be phone issue. Cable is not high quality. [ John  Feb 04, 2015 ]
Not sure. I ran into issues with my galaxy S3 that were unrelated to the cable and had to do with a pinout that Samsung did that wasn't the same as the spec. This required an adapter to make it work. My understanding is that most other phones with HDMI capability will work. All I could really suggest is looking at the LG site regarding HDMI. [ Theodore  Jan 28, 2015 ]
Not sure but works great with my Samsung Note 3 [ JOHN  Jan 28, 2015 ]
