Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car. Performance, style, and flexibility Dual's XD7600 delivers it all, and at a price that's hard to resist. Not only does this CD receiver come primed to anchor your mobile audio system with a strong built-in amp (22 watts RMS x 4), it includes a handy jack for connecting a portable music player. Just connect the iplug to the XD7600's auxiliary RCA input jacks, mount it in a convenient spot (under the dash, in the glove compartment, in the center console wherever you like to keep your player) and go! No more dangling wires to get in the way of your clean installation. And talk about good looking. The sleek, flip-down faceplate motors into position at the touch of a button. You also get a cool, blue backlight that will really light up your nights, with a negative display to ensure that everything is easy to read, day or night. If security is a concern, detach the face when you leave the car for extra peace of mind. The oversized rotary encoder knob makes system adjustments a snap, and a remote control is provided for back seat song surfers. Five selectable EQ curves allow for on-the-fly sound adjustments, while the 2-band equalizer lets you customize the highs and lows to suit your music and your taste. Source Audio Memory can save different bass/treble settings for the AM/FM tuner and CD functions. You can even connect an external amp or powered subwoofer to the set of preamp outputs to build a thumpin' system. AND the price can't be beat!It is the same price as WalMart BUT you get the mounting kit, wire kit, and din tools (for a Ford) INCLUDED, and it's pre-wired for an amp.I've tried to get it to skip, and except for some rough railroad track crossings (duh), it works fine. My kids love it, and if I'm not careful it will walk into one of their cars ;-). The remote works from outside the truck (for tailgating). All in all a great value and I'll be returning to Crutchfield for future purchases. 3 out of 3 people found this helpful Was this review helpful? Our take on the Dual XD7600 by Tim Sprinkle Why replace your factory radio?
