If you're an iPod® or iPhone® user, Dual's been thinking of you. Not only does their XDMA6510 CD receiver offer built-in controls for your player, but they've included a mount for it too. So, now you can keep your player right where you'd like it while you drive.

XDMA6510 with included mount

Dual also equips the XDMA6510 to handle all your mobile music needs. You can plug any other USB device into the handy front-panel input, or jack in a couple of audio players to the front and rear auxiliary inputs. Discs are covered too — you can play discs loaded with MP3 and WMA files, as well as your store-bought CDs.

Sound shaping is handled competently by bass and treble controls, along with seven preset EQ settings. And if you need more power, you can hook up external amps or a powered sub to the two pairs of preamp outputs. The receiver's sub level control lets you go to town when you want to crank the bass.

Want to keep your car's steering wheel audio controls?
In most vehicles, you can an adapter (not included) to connect your vehicle's steering wheel controls to this Dual stereo. Connect a few wires, then program the adapter for your particular car and the Dual, and you'll retain the convenience of your steering wheel controls.

Note: If you're going to use your iPod with this receiver, be sure to check "Details" for specific iPod model compatibility with this receiver.

Nice unit for the money. Bought it for an 18 year old truck so I wasn't looking for an audiophile unit. Sound is good. Installation was straight forward and tech support was helpful. Looks good and had the features I wanted.

    Good Basic CD/Stereo

For basic stuff, this is a pretty good stereo. It was inexpensive, has a detachable face, aux input, usb input, and the ability to send sound to a preamp via rca (I chose not to do this). I would buy it again if I needed another one. Tech help from Crutchfield was great. I'm a little colorblind (just a little) so the wiring diagram which listed the matching wires was almost useless to me. The good folks on the tech line sent me a diagram that showed colors and positions on the actual harness. AFter that, just a little splicing and crimping and I was done.!

Pros: Great sound, simple design, detachable face, all of the necessary inputs. Cool blue light display.

Cons: Because there are so many functions, and buttons for those functions (ex. band, tuning, input, etc), sometimes accurately punching the little buttons while driving can be a little difficult. On the other hand, it has so much potential! I'm happy with my purchase.

I wanted to replace the Factory head unit in a newly acquired Wrangler. Knowing that the doors and top would rarely be on the vehicle, I was leery of putting an expensive head unit in for fear of weather and/or theft. Although I was not familiar with Dual as a name brand, I relied on reviews like this to make my decision. Pound for pound and dollar for dollar this head unit cannot be beat. Powerful with good sound quality at a more than fair price. In fact, I was impressed enough that I ordered the same unit as a replacement for the aged Alpine in my boat! With the installation kit and instructions that Crutchfield sends alog with the purchase, the install could not have gone smoother. Thanks.

Pros: powerful, many options and affordable

    Cons: non yet

I bought this radio so I can use my iPod and iPhone in my 2004 Chevy 2500HD Truck that didn't have a USB or auxiliary port. Crutchfield told me that this wAs a fix for my truck and they were right. The sound quality is excellent and the radio is easy to use. I do recommend that you buy for the extra mounting face plate for the radio install .

Ordered this stereo to replace the factory GM stereo. My order was shipped quickly and everything I needed was there. Super east to install with all of the guides and information as well as other component parts. Would be a good stereo for any replacement. The iPhone or iPod dock is great to have, I can keep it close by now and it's easy to see while driving when needed.

Pros: Easy to install. Sound is good. Lots of good options on the stereo.

Crutchfield makes it flawless to install a quality product at a quality price.

Pros: The installation with the exact harness required was so easy. Simply color for color wiring took me perhaps an hour from box to using the product. A box of color crayons could not be easier. This is the second of these units I have installed now I have them in both of my cars.

    Cons: absolutely none.

I've installed for years and this install was the quickest and easiest. With all accessories provided by crutchfield I installed this stereo in 23 minutes. Sound quality was 100 percent better than stock and the accessories offered allowed me to use my iPod, and input my smartphone via aux input. This allows me to play all my stored music on iTunes and even stream pandora through my smartphone. The 60 watts by 4 channels is one of the heist on the market for head units and immediately made a difference in my ride. This unit pushes my 6x9 Rockford fosgates and my 6.5 Polk audio speakers to the brink of clipping out. P

Pros: Value for price, aux capability, this unit has everything higher priced units have, but it's MOSFET 60x4 amp is the highest on the market especially for the price of 72.99$

Cons: Has everything but blue tooth and a built in media program such as pandora, of note these items can be accessed and provided via aux connection from a smartphone.

The installation kit and radio unit were a snap to install. The set up works very well and looks cool in my old Subaru. It gives the car a new and fresh upgrade. I would recommend this system to anyone that wants a relatively inexpensive but yet very good sounding audio system.

Pros: The system looks and sounds great for the money. It is a relatively inexpensive upgrade to an old car. I wish that I had done it a few years ago. The installation kit was very easy to install.

Cons: The wiring harness took a little bit of time to set up correctly. That could be because of the small print on the wires.

I have not bought a new car stereo in years; and this Dual car stereo with IPhone USB cable plug in is a great option. Not only can you play your own music from your Iphone; but it also charges your Iphone at the same time. It's controls are easy to figure out unlike your smartphone that took awhile to figure out when new.

I bought one, liked it so much, I purchased another. Sound and quality is really good for the price. Easy to install. The ipod holder is really convenient and the front accessory ports are great. Nice illumination and easy to use the buttons. I would recommend this unit.

Pros: Easy to install especially with accessory kit. The trim kit for specifically for your vehicle is excellent.

Cons: I installed this unit in a 1995 saturn. When the volume was turned way up the unit lost all power. The radio fuse was fine. After researching I learned that some aftermarket units additionally rely on the fuse for the chime which has a 5 amp fuse. I replaced it with a 7.5 amp and it seem to be working fine.

While this unit is easy to operate, plays CDs, drives the operation of your iPod, and can play music from a thumb drive, the coolest feature was the holder for your iPod/MP3 player. I expected some cheap plastic thing that glued onto my dash, or attached to a air vent. Instead the holder is an integral part of the unit. It's functional and looks great. This unit also made my stock speakers come to life. The sounds quality is exceptional. Thinking of getting this unit for my RV, as the include remote control for this unit would be quite useful in an RV to drive your music from the RV's kitchen table.

Pros: Easy to use interface - did not need to read the manual! Sound quality exceeded my expectations.

Cons: none - zero - nada

This cd player works better than I expected. Given the price of the unit I would have expected a lower build quality, less sound output and clarity, and an overall lack of design. However, I am glad to write that this is not the case. This thing feels as sturdy as many of the higher priced units I have purchased in the past and it certainly puts out a lot of clear sound. Matched up with the appropriate speakers and you can have some cranking music. Yes, it is lacking in a lot of the fancy stuff higher priced units have (blue tooth, XM radio, etc.) but what it does have it does well. I also liked how it comes packaged with a phone mount - something I would have never thought to use if it were not included. Super easy install and super sleek look once finished. Really have nothing to complain about.

Pros: Fast install, super sleek face plate, easy controls, inclusion of a phone mount, easy sound shaping, usb port, and sturdiness.

Cons: Nothing really - I got more than I was expecting. Is it a $400 unit? No, it is exactly what it claims to be.

This receiver would be a great value if not for the poor FM reception. I thought the poor reception was due to the antenna in my car is embedded in the windshield. Well, it was months before I decided to install a fender mount antenna. I discovered the fault was with the receiver. Antenna booster did not help either. If I had discovered this sooner, it would be going back to Crutchfield.

great radio for the price. Fits in my 75 Nova even though Crutchfield said it wouldn't. It was easy to install. I like the AUX jack in the front. I can plug my Zune into it and play all the music I enjoy. The Ipod holder works with the Zune also. I would definitely buy a second one if the need arose.

Typical Crutchfield excellent wiring adapters & installation parts; wiring took 10 minutes (overly anal with solder & heatshrink) and installation would have taken 10 minutes except Ford F-150 dash orifice is NOT DIN. Fortunately it is a plastic dash opening so rasping out the 1/16" of plastic took an extra 5 minutes with multiple test fits. Once the opening accepts the DIN sleeve, installation completes in about 90 seconds and you are live once you reconnect the battery. One of the easiest retrofits I have done in 40 years. Receiver is excellent quality for the functions I have used, so far just AM/FM and the front-panel USB port means I can just plug in a flash drive and not even deal with my MP3 player. Haven't even fed a CD into the unit yet but will this week. Sound quality is excellent with stock Ford speakers but may consider a subwoofer behind the seat (regular cab) now that I have something to drive it. Just needs a warning note if you are putting it into an old old vehicle. Not many people will. I love it!

Pros: Very versatile with front USB and AUX inputs Sound quality great with factory speakers Almost idiot-proof simple wiring Excellent instructions

Cons: Needed minor trimming of dash opening to fit older pickup truck Control buttons are sized for small fingers but remote makes up for it

Not bad for a super-budget unit. Sounds decent for the bucks, and the iPod controls work fine. Only real issue is the faceplate - it's a pain to get off. Pop the button and the side loosend - then wrestle with it till you get it loose. Feels very much like something will eventually break. After years of removable plates, is it that hard to design one that works like all the others?

    Pros: Good value

Cons: Faceplate has to be wrestled loose.

I bought this to upgrade my '98 ford escort zx2's system. The pros and cons pretty much sum up my review.

Pros: Good (possibly the best) value for the price due to a huge amount of features Sound quality is fairly good, except for the fm radio Plenty of inputs. Included ipod/iphone mount Plenty of features. The ones that stood out to me are: -Adjustable volume for the rear sub output -Adjustable volume for each input

Cons: Takes way too long to read my iphone FM Radio tuner is next to worthless, and worse than the radio that came stock with my escort Buttons feel flimsy at times, but most of the time it's ok Relatively limited equalizer options. Fairly finicky controls, but you can get used to them Limited support for digital media files on usb drives(mp3 and wma only)

For the price I don't think you can beat this receiver. My old deck had a fold down faceplate, which I hated, so I really like the faceplate on this receiver. The FM reception is good, the controls and remote are easy to use, CDs and USB devices work very well with great sound and clarity, and as usual Crutchfield supplies everything one needs for an easy install.

Pros: Good FM reception. Non-fold-down detachable faceplate. USB and AUX inputs. Easy to use controls and remote. Great sound and clarity

Cons: Wish it had bluetooth, but not at this price. Oh well...

According to the Crutchfield site, this radio was supposed to fit my stock 1991 Mazda Miata, but it is too big. My husband spent one afternoon modifying the supplied receiver housing to fit into the dashboard space. It took multiple iterations of cutting and shaving to get the thing to fit. After soldering the wire harness and installing the receiver kit in the dash, we discovered that the vehicle factory receiver trim panel would not install over the Dual receiver, which was too wide by 1/8-3/16 inch because of the ears (stops) that hold it in the DIN sleeve. Actually, even the DIN sleeve itself was too wide. We were highly disappointed, as the sound quality of the radio was good. We sent it all back and received a full refund of our payment, but still lost two precious afternoons in a futile attempt to install a product that was supposed to fit. Crutchfield should take more care with its claims of fit. I have no way to know if this radio was larger than specifications or if Crutchfield is using the wrong measurements on my vehicle, but it is inexcusable in either case for them to say it fits when it does not.

    Pros: Sound was good

    Cons: Doesn't fit as promised

I bought this for my sons first car. It was an easy install with the included installation hardware. The wiring harness, antenna adapter, in dash receiver kit, and detailed instructions made this easy to install. This has a separate subwoofer jack in the back of the radio so he has complete control over the subwoofer in the trunk. The ipod/iphone holder that you can mount on the side of the deck is perfect. He can use his iphone to play music without having to hold it. It also has 2 more rca jacks in the back for a total of 3. 2 outputs and 1 input. This radio has it all for an amazing price!

Pros: Price, ease of use, iphone/ipod holder, 3 rca jacks in the back (1 subwoofer, 1 regular, 1 input), and price again for what you get

I have been using the factory AM/FM radio cassette player in my '94 Nissan pickup since I bought it about 15 years ago. For the last 2 1/2 years I have been using an FM transmitter to listen to podcasts on my iPod Touch. The audio quality is usually scratchy and I finally decided to do some research to see what it would cost to improve my setup. I was almost resigned to having to pay someone to do it for me. I found the Crutchfield's website through a Web search and I was immediately impressed that they offered customized instructions on teardown for receivers and speakers for each vehicle. They also recommended wire harnesses, an antenna adapter and a mounting kit. Crutchfield even went to the trouble to send an e-mail after my order was delivered. No other vendor has ever done that for me! The wire harnesses were color coded and a cinch to assemble. I used solderless connectors and heat-shrink tubing to put everything together. It would have been a nightmare trying to figure it out myself. I did not end up using the mounting kit as it did not include the storage compartment that sits under the receiver. I managed to transfer the bracket and compartment from the old unit and fits perfectly. I have never installed a receiver before so I was pretty pumped when I turned it on and the quality difference was immediately obvious. I plugged my iPod in and it was automatically detected and started to play. The remote control is certainly a perk.

Pros: Good instructions. Color coded wiring harnesses. Detachable face plate. Remote control. AM/FM, CD, IOS devices, other USB devices. Good value. Easy install.

Cons: It took a bit of effort to figure out the menu system

I wanted a decent radio that contained an iPod connection without the high cost. This radio fit the bill and was exactly what I was looking for. Installation was straight forward except the iPod cradle that did not include instructions. It was not difficult to figure out though. One word to the novice installer, you will need electrical wire crimps or solder for the the wiring harness. I opted for the crimps. The only issue I encountered was that my iPod would not work in Basic mode even though I updated it to the latest rev. I connected my daughters later model iTouch and it worked fine. Conclusion my iPod model was too old and it was not a radio issue. I have since used a Nano and it also works fine in basic mode. All personal opinion but I could never imagine controlling the iPod through the radio; so much easier through the iPod. I am glad that the clock displays as some other models I viewed users complained about it. I have a Kenwood marine radio in my boat and prefer the interface on this one; much easier to configure. Overall for the price and quality of the radio I could not be happier.

Pros: Value, iPod connection, multiple bands, easy to program

Cons: None that I can think of, especially for the price.

Pros: It works with my iPod, other peoples iPhones, etc. I listen to podcasts, radio, CD.

Cons: I don't like that my phone calls don't work over the audio. It also seems to resent my iphone back to the first song regardless of what music I was playing.

    What a great deal!

This is a "perfect" unit for me. Even though it's a "leader" model in terms of price, it has just what I wanted: a rear aux input for my XM Onyx receiver, plus both 3.5 mm and USB inputs on the front. I like the fact that unused inputs can be "turned off" so they're not switch through when selecting active inputs. I also like the fact that input levels can be trimmed so that I don't have to reach for the volume control every time I change inputs. Radio has more preset slots than I'll ever use, and CD player is one of the quickest to load I've ever seen. Wiring was easy - colors matched exactly to the one I was replacing. A GREAT BUY!

Pros: Easy to use, easy to install, sounds great.

    Cons: none

The deck has everything I was looking for and then some. I don't push the sound limits of my stereo; I mostly use it to listen to talk radio and podcasts. The ability to hold my iPhone and run it through the stereo deck is fantastic. Installation was fairly easy (after I took the car apart) and quick. I think the sound quality is good through the stock speakers and overall it's easy to use. I'm very pleased.

Pros: Looks, iPod operation, sound quality

The only difficulty, was the installation instructions didn't include installing the device mount. Now I need to uninstall, to get the device mount in place.

Very easy to maneuver. Looks and sounds good. The blue display is kinda lost in the day light. Looks great in the dark. Real sharp. Plays my iPhone without flaw. It's exactly what I needed and it charges it quickly. I don't use discs any longer.

Pros: Works great with my iPhone. Charges iPhone. Looks sharp.

Cons: The swivel arm drops the iPhone when you hit a bump in the road. Display is lost in semi-strong sunlight.
