Dual's XHD6425 CD receiver provides an amazing variety of listening choices. For starters, a built-in HD Radio tuner lets you enjoy the improved AM/FM sound quality and increased programming choices offered by free HD Radio broadcasts.

Playback options
This versatile receiver also makes it easy to play your entire music collection. You'll find a convenient front-panel USB input, perfect for connecting thumb drives or many portable music players. The CD drive plays your favorite MP3 or WMA files, so you can load a disc with multiple albums or playlists and hit the road. A front-panel auxiliary input bats cleanup, providing a convenient place to plug in your portable player or a Dock & Play satellite radio.

Power and tone
Versatility doesn't count for much if the music doesn't sound good. No problems here — the built-in amplifier boasts plenty of power, and five selectable EQ curves alter the sound with the touch of a button. The two sets of preamp outputs allow plenty of options if you're considering adding an amp or powered subwoofer.

Optional Bluetooth
Have a Bluetooth phone? Add the optional Bluetooth module and you'll be able to answer and place calls using the receiver's front panel controls.

    Why replace your factory radio?

Two good reasons - sound quality and cool features. A new car stereo offers power that's superior to most factory radios, along with more sophisticated tone controls. And most car stereos offer built-in or optional features that add safety and fun to life in your car, including inputs for your iPod or MP3 player, Bluetooth connectivity for hands-free cell phone calls, satellite radio or HD Radio reception, and connections for building an audio system in your car.

I have had 2 of the DualAV XHD6425 stereos and 2 additional face plates. I specifically chose these units because of the features. HD Radio, CD / MP3, USB, bluetooth hands free and streaming. It is a great unit, when it is new, for however long that lasts. After a year or so the buttons start doing things that are supposed to be assigned to other buttons. Irritating and frustrating. After a few more months the buttons were so unreliable, especially the main buttons around the volume knob, I purchased another face plate on eBay. That lasted a few months, then it started doing the same thing. The second unit had similar problems. I recently swapped it out of a previous car and into a newly acquired car. I purchased another face plate from a different online retailer. The face plate was super clean on the outside. Functionally the face plate has several buttons that do not work at all. And the main buttons around the volume knob never do what you need. There are some tasks you cannot do, the buttons won't allow it. I have contacted customer service at DualAV on several occasions, when it first happened and when I purchased the new face plates. I have never received a reply of any kind. None at all. Do not purchase DualAV products. The low purchase price will be long forgotten when the unit turns into an irritating paper weight in the middle of your vehicle. HD radios are difficult to find, but don't settle for a DualAV unit. They have zero customer service. Their products have no durability.

    Pros: Great list of features.

Cons: ZERO customer service. Severe failure rate. Buttons that don't work. Buttons that do things they should not do and don't do what they should do. Intense irritation and frustration for the user. Do NOT Buy DualAV anything.

    Lasted less than 6 years

After 13 years - Replaced the original in my 1995 Nissan Maxima with this Dual model in 2008. It work for a while then the button started getting flaky. They are sealed buttons - a good thing, which means there is no way to clean them or spray them - that's a bad thing. Another year went by and the unit started losing all programming. Then it would not tune to the middle portions of the tuner's freq bands. So, after 6 years - I pulled it out and started over with a Kenwood KDC-X599. Much better quality. Certainly better functionality, at least for now.

Pros: Good functions to begin with. Good looks. More inputs than the original equipment.

Cons: Just didn't last all that long. 6 years doesn't seem like a long time for a unit like this.
